The membership is restricted to Intelligent Communities named by ICF every year.

The Institutes are local research institutes established in partnership with ICF by
universities, local governments and other organizations to share the world’s knowledge
about the creation of Intelligent Communities.
It expands the base of research and teaching about issues central to the development of
Intelligent Communities.
Each institute endorses two missions:
§ focus on a field of study related to one of ICF’s five Intelligent Community Indicators:
broadband connectivity, knowledge workforce, innovation, digital inclusion,

Uzo Udemba
Mr. Udemba has over 30 years of business management experience and is the Founder,
Chairman and CEO of The Udemba Group which is comprised of more than 20 market-leading
companies in a range of sectors including oil and gas; health and fitness; real estate,
engineering, and construction; research and development; food services; media and
entertainment; and science and technology. Grew TrendCorp from inception to over US $20
million in annual revenue, now employing over 400 people. Additionally, Mr. Udemba grew the
geosynthetics business to capture 80 percent market share in Nigeria. Mr. Udemba holds a
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, with an emphasis in Civil Engineering from the University of
Nigeria, Nsukka. Mr. Udemba is the visionary of this grand project and will be a critical asset in
the development and management of Trend Media City.
Prof. Pat Utomi
Mr. Pat Utomi is a political economist, management scholar and a dynamic entrepreneur. His
career spans a Presidential Advisory position in government at the age of 27, the distinction of
being the first Nigerian to be named deputy chief executive of Volkswagen of Nigeria at age 32
and an academic career as one of the most senior faculty members of the prestigious Lagos
Business School - PAN African University, from inception. He has founded and co-founded
several enterprises that are key players in the Nigerian economy.

Hon. Jerry Weller
Former Congressman Jerry Weller (1995-2009) is Managing Partner for NWG Public Affairs LLC, a public affairs, strategic consulting and
international business development firm with offices in Washington DC, Guatemala City and West Palm Beach, Florida. While serving 14 years in
Congress, Jerry rose to be a leading Member of the House Ways & Moans Subcommittee on Trade, where Jerry effectively made the case that
trade helps eliminate poverty and create jobs. In addition, while serving as National Finance Chairman for the National Republic Congressional
Committee for the 2002 Election Cycle, Jerry led efforts resulting in over $210,000,000 being raised to support candidates across the U.S. After
graduating from the University of Illinois in 1979, Jerry went to work for Proctor & Gamble. Prior to his service in the U. S. House of
Representatives, he served as an aide to the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture from 1981-1985, maintained involvement in the family farm and served
in the Illinois State House of Representatives from 1988-1994.
Andrew Kreig
Andrew Kreig is a Washington, DC-based non-profit executive, attorney and strategic consultant with extensive experience with government and
the communications industries. He helps businesses and opinion-leaders achieve goals through the Eagle View Capital Strategies and the U.S.Nigeria Business Council. Also, he helps lead the Justice Integrity Project to advance legal reform and the Fixed Wireless Communications Coalition
to promote critical wireless infrastructure. As CEO/President from 1996 to 2008 and earlier as Vice President/General Counsel, he led regulatory
strategies at the FCC, Congress and before international bodies. He holds law degrees from both the University of Chicago School of Law and Yale
Law School.
Ricardo Tejada
Mr. Tejada’s 10 years of business experience has spanned advisory responsibilities within the Fortune 100, his own ventures and extensive
involvement with Southern California's entrepreneurial community. As Managing Director, Mr. Tejada is responsible for overseeing operations of
US Los Angeles offices, South Korea’s Seoul office, and Cuenca Ecuador office. Mr. Tejada is involved in many different community organizations
and currently is an active Board Member of the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Past Treasurer for ArtShare Los Angeles - a nonprofit
educating youth through the arts. Additionally, Mr. Tejada, is a founding member of the New America Alliance Emerging Leaders Los Angeles, a
membership driven non-profit that is comprised of prominent American Latino entrepreneurs and business leaders who are committed to giving
back to the community. In 2011 Mr. Tejada has been awarded Telemundo’s Hispanic Business Salute, Hispanic Business Man of the Year, and
recently recognized by Latino Leaders Magazine as an upcoming Young Latino Leader in the United States. Under Mr. Tejada’s leadership Vnesto
Capital was an honored nominee for Los Angeles Business Journal, Small Business of the Year. Mr. Tejada holds a B.S. Degree in Business
Administration from the University Of Southern California and is a graduate of the Marshall School of Business where he attended the Lloyd Grief
School of Entrepreneurial Studies, USC’s prestigious and highly ranked program.
