Update - Cloverdale Rancheria of Pomo Indians
CLOVERDALE RANCHERIA TRIBAL VENTURE
UPDATE
The Cloverdale Rancheria is maintaining its commitment to keep the public
informed of its plans for a destination resort with a gaming component. We are
eager to continue our discussions with the Community as the process continues
and the Project moves forward.

The Draft Environmental Impact Statement was prepared by the Bureau of Indian
Affairs (BIA) to address the potential environmental effects of taking 6 parcels into
federal trust and the subsequent development of a destination resort. The findings
discussed, outline potential environmental impacts and mitigations. We remain
positive that at the completion of this process the 6 parcels of land will transfer into
federal trust for the benefit of the Cloverdale Rancheria.
The Cloverdale Rancheria is looking forward to future public hearings as we move
forward in the various environmental phases of the Environmental Impact Statement.
Indians Lands Opinion
The Tribe has also received a positive legal determination from the United States
Department of the Interior concluding that approximately 79-acres of land located
within or contiguous to the original Cloverdale Rancheria qualify as “restored lands”
as defined within the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA). This is great news for
the Cloverdale Rancheria as this determination simply means the Project lands are
eligible for gaming. We will continue to move forward with our plans for a destination resort with a gaming component. It is hoped this project will bring economic
stimulus, and provide many new employment opportunities for the Cloverdale
Community.
The Cloverdale Rancheria is very enthusiastic and optimistic on the positive values
and benefits this project will bring forth for both the local economy and the Tribe.
This development is a great opportunity to create local jobs, bring additional
revenue to the City and County through tourism dollars, and create an opportunity to collaborate with local downtown businesses.
The Tribe takes great pride in its contributions to the well-being of the Community. Our close connection to Cloverdale is one that has been passed down through
our Tribe for generations. We believe the City of Cloverdale and the Cloverdale
Rancheria are one Community as we both have historical ties to this area and we
are both concerned with impacts within our Community as well as with the
positive growth of our Community
