On a beautiful morning in May, We took a bus load of people
to the MN Zoo . We were able to see twelve 8-hour old piglets
and touch a new baby chick and goats. The zoo staff gave us an
impromptu tractor ride! What a treat that was! Topping off the
day, we ate lunch on the sprawling porch of the farm house.
The farm house sits on a hill overlooking the farm, so we
watched the busy farm life as we ate. As we were loading the
bus to leave ,the farm manager brought the large horses out to
the bus so we could see them up close! This was an amazing
experience for our group.
A huge thank you to the accommodating and friendly
Minnesota Zoo staff!! Free!

Birthdays & Move-Ins
We strive to make our
Community safe and secure
for our residents each and
every day. For example,
after the front desk closes,
the front door automatically
locks—making the building secure overnight.
This happens at 7pm during the week and at
4pm on weekends. If you have visitors after
hours they can look you up in the directory
located in the front entry, or simply type in your
three digit apartment number.
Be sure to check out our fairy gardens by
the side lobby doors. Pictured below is

New Resident Social will be on
JUNE 6 — at 10:00 in the Activity
Center. Everyone is welcome!
New Neighbors:
At a recent resident meeting, I talked about the
“File of Life” forms. These contain important
medical information that you can put on your
fridge in case you require emergency medical
treatment and you are unable to communicate
to first responders. I highly recommend
Independent Living Residents who are not on
services with us to complete one.

If you would like a “File of Life” form or have
any questions, don’t hesitate to stop by the
front desk and see me!

Resident Outings
Dinner at the Chart House!
We enjoyed a delicious meal at the Chart
House in Lakeville. They kindly reserved a
gorgeous table out by the water for us.
With a soft breeze blowing, we couldn't
ask for a better setting. Join us on June
3rd at 4:45pm as we return for another
fabulous evening!
Don’t miss this!
Don’t miss this
We will be hosting our 2nd Memory Care
Support Group Meeting on June 15th in
the Activity Center.
We will have Salad and Sandwiches at
5:30pm followed by a talk at 6:00pm.
Please RSVP with Izzy
Sing - A - Long….
Thank you to Phyllis Samuels for setting
up the May Evening Sing Along. The
residents enjoyed music from the 30’s
and 40’s with a few others mixed in.
Mrs. Lee Bigler from Lakeville came in
and shared her talent for singing and
playing the piano. She will be back on
June 17th, along with the group from
Trinity Church , for a Hymn Sing Along.
We’ve had a couple of requests in the
“Suggestions Box” recently for shopping
carts to be made available to Residents to
make transporting groceries easier. As there
would be no easy way to keep track of them
or guarantee that they would be available
when a resident might need them, we
highly recommend that you get your own
cart like the one pictured
below. They are available at
Walmart and Target and range
from $25 - $50 depending on
their size.

“P” Professionalism – Here at Kingsley
Shores our Team members take pride in
their appearance and a job well done.
Staff members are truthful and act with
good intent at all times. The
relationships of staff members with
residents and other customers have
appropriate boundaries. When visiting
our building you will see this at all times.
We have a wonderful team.
We have many residents who help
around the building. We would like to
highlight a few of them:
Lenore Hall helps by keeping the plants
alive outside. She waters them
everyday!
Kay Frederickson proofreads and edits
our newsletter and calendars each
month.
Darlene Cedergren calls BINGO twice a
week for our 2nd and 3rd floor
residents .
We do have flatbeds down in
the underground
parking,
but they aren’t the easiest
things to maneuver and again, they might
not be available when you need them!

We are very EXCITED for our kick off to
summer picnic. The picnic will be to
celebrate the 4th of July, just a little
early. The picnic will start at 5:30 with a
wonderful picnic dinner provided by the
kitchen. We will have lawn games and
fun activities for everyone! At 7pm the
South of the River Band will be
performing for us. This is a picnic for all
families and residents.
Everything will be provided courtesy of
Kingsley.
We do ask that family members bring
lawn chairs and that you sign up. The
sign up will be in the sign up book on
first floor. When you sign up it helps us
have an accurate amount of food and
beverages.
Hope to see you there!!!
