The box acrylic has a slight frost to it, if you
want to increase the “diffusion” of the light
– make it less clear – use the sand paper
provided to opaque the sides.
Sand with 400 grit paper in
even circular motion

Glue 5 of the 6 box sides together, do
not glue “top” piece with switch hole.

Glue 1 magnet to the inside of the cube. It
should be placed slightly below the top edge
of the box (valley of the finger joint) to leave
room for the magnet on the lid.

Solder battery holders together: 1
positive leg to 1 negative leg.

Solder open negative side of battery
holders to one side of the switch.

Solder 3 LEDs together (Negative legs
together, Positive legs together).
Usually, the longer LED leg is Positive.

Solder a wire from opposite side of
switch to Negative side of LED group

Wire on the switch will be in opposite
corners as shown. The other pins will
not be used.

Solder red wire to positive side of LED
group.
Solder red wire to open end of battery
holder group.

Completed circuit.

With the remaining box side, insert switch
into center hole. It should fit snugly without
glue, but add some glue to keep snug.
Switch button should extend beyond the
plane of the side face.

Glue circuit to base of box. Use glue to
help insulate wires from each other. Keep
battery holders accessible.

Glue remaining magnet to the inside of the
“lid” or the side with components. Be sure
to place magnet so it will align with the
magnet inside the cube. (we use super
glue instead of hot glue so it’s less bulky)

NOTE!! Magnets are polarized, check
that you face the magnets so they are
attracted to each other and do not repel
each other.

Insert batteries into holders. Close up box
and flip over. Light turns on when weight
is placed on switch.

Customize your light by adding silhouettes
or shapes to the inside of the cube. These
can be lightly glued or placed against the
side.
