archohm has carved a niche in the field of infrastructure in the dense city environments and urban details of
highways through various projects. Infrastructure design principally involves an overview of the problem area or
site and development of a design concept that ties all ends into a common language, giving a a visual identity
to the project. this usually functionally and aesthetically enhances the project. these solutions work on the
premise of no additional expenses, as it usually channelizes all the obligatory energies towards a controlled and
coordinated direction.
archohm’s scope would typically begin from aesthetics of structural solutions, landscape of all areas , lighting
and electrical design as well as signage and street furniture. we have been successful in dealing with high profile
sites such as the moolchand junction of underpasses for vehicles and pedestrians and more elaborate setups
like the delhi-gurgaon expressway.
this section gives a brief overview of the skill sets in this relatively unexplored, but incredibly critical facet of
urban living; an architectural excerise on public space that does not need to deal with attracting people traffic,
but to deal with it as a starting premise.

an urban design project that attempts to capture the experience of driving through an urban zone of the city via a dedicated
expressway. the idea was to split the user's perception into three zones. one - a high profile vip route to delhi's domestic and
international airports. two - a 'commuter realm' of the fastest growing suburban district in the country- gurgaon with its skyline.
and third- 'the trucker and the tourist' zone through the large scale industrial development that leads to the pink city of jaipur. the
project is one of the largest toll plazas of the country with state-of- the-art lighting, landscape and signage punctuating this
international facility. the design control and details were developed via workshops by the archohm dutch and indian offices.

the shaping and profiling of the entire elevated and ground structures, as well as the base of deck slab and treatment of
diaphragm was an interesting design exercise. a 'ring' of pedestrian movement was created to reorganize the junction. the
project recieved great visibility, media and public appreciation due to the intervention within a crucial junction in delhi and
because of the elevation of the pedestrians in the growing vehicular traffic. lighting and landscape gave a cosmetic facelift to this
urban insert project.

archohm was commissioned to study the ring of delhi to bring in physical manifestation that would provide it with a distinct
identity of being one complete and distinct loop cutting through a dense urban network. the idea was to pick up some basic
features of the road such as lighting, signage, landscape and street furniture and localize the zones for individual character at
the same time, whilst unifying the entire loop as one complete 'entity'.

the largest clover leaf junction of the city, this project came across as a complex exercise of stratifying and streamlining the
vehicular and the pedestrian movement through this junction. an entry into the city from the north brought in a bus terminus, four
way vehicular interchange, pedestrian cross overs and cycle tracks into a coherent design solution. two-level, signal-free traffic
movement, four-level, hi-tech pedestrian movement and a multi-deck node for an interchange facility were created. exclusive
state–of-the-art street lights, detailed pier shapes and textures and the white steel vocabulary gave the project a global look and
feel.

the client brief to the build-operate-transfer (bot) project was to conceive a unified designed theme for various facilities on an
expressway. from bus stands to substations, street lighting to vms gantries for signage; all were brought together in a similar
vocabulary of detailed architectural design in the form of steel structures.

the design of a signature cable-stayed bridge brought in a larger commission of the approaches to the same. the project was an
extremely complex network of roads picking up traffic from various other nodes and along the ring of delhi on the west side and
distributing the same through roundabouts and flyovers to the eastern part of the delhi across the river. owing to the presence of
the signature bridge, and its visibility because of the ring road gave impetus to an aesthetically well-designed pier and deck slab
structure with back-lit ribs and spines in concrete. at the lower scale, meandering cycle tracks and large-scale landscape
gestures brought the entire scheme together as a comprehensive unit.

reliance infrastructure was awarded the mumbai sea link project by msrdc on a bot basis with the next phase of construction.
archohm was commissioned to enhance the functionality and the 'look and feel' of the project. a high profile 'visible' project
throws its own challenges. 'bring people out of india and back in, as they go through the sea link everyday of their lives' was a
simple wishlist from the client. the challenge was two-fold; the iconic nature of the project and the landmark that it aspired to be in
the mumbai skyline.
at one level, the driving experience of the commuter was most critical as he would be paying for this experience at the toll plaza.
the symbolic visual appeal of the project was a bigger challenge as the city resident saw this day and night, without necessarily
getting onto it. both expectations are being tackled at all levels of physical interventions; from landscape to signage, painting and
lighting as well. as urban designers and architects, archohm has established various levels of physical manifestations to
enhance the project not only as a brand to reliance, but as a signature to the mumbai metropolis.

through specific project partnerships to deal with this largest issue of rapid urbanisation.
urban housing and town planning with all its related design faculties is an interesting exercise on value
engineering on one end and character definition on the other. our libyan and uttar pradesh projects are a
testimony of the same.
on the other end of the spectrum of commercial viability, the project needs to be funtional in terms of layout and
develop an efficient equation of floor area ratio.
the third aspect of design in this realm is the marketability of the product from the developer’s perspective.
‘flagship projects by foreign architects’ have been a battle for archohm providing equitable solutions has also
been a challenge and learning at the same time.

kufra is an upcoming township in the heart of the sahara desert. with its unique climatic conditions, including a temperature
variation that ranges from 50 degrees centigrade to -5 degrees centigradeand no recorded rainfall in the past few decades, kufra
was an extremely challenging site. within a defined framework of the government masterplan, the scope was to align all the
infrastructure, services and facilities together and bring this landscape up as an oasis in the libyan desert city.
the scope also included architectural and engineering of all the school types; primary, secondary and higher education. the
hospitals and hospitality spanned into high-rise blocks, while the theatres and market spaces in the arid condition gave a new
dimension to shaded walkways and plazas. public utilities such as banks, post offices, police stations and municipality were to be
detailed with a paradigm shift in socio-cultural requirements. last, but not least, the mosques and wedding halls became the
centre of every township at these designed developments.
the design of prototype house layouts, which were be replicated to erect 1650 houses, as well as these different public buildings
were a design and engineering task that archohm undertook and delivered within a tight construction schedule.

a massive township development in the heart of the libyan desert city of sebha. the site houses 3050 dwelling units and various
commercial and institutional facilities within the community.

the site is similar toa double helix, with the two centres housing all the institutional facilities around a circular green. a colonnade
of sorts connects all these socio-cultural centres within the larger community. commercial, educational and religious institutions
are positioned closer to the dwelling units within the master plan. the density of the township and complexity of its services were
an easier part of the scope of works. what took the challenge to the next level was the visual aesthetic of the entire development,
with a certain balance in modernity and traditionality. design and aesthetics had to be carefully controlled and intertwined with
constructability and economy, due to the nature of the contract.

sirte is a picturesque city along the mediterranean coast; and is now being upgraded in respect of all civic infrastructure. the task
was challenging as the new roads, sewers, water supply, electrical supply and communications lines are being put in place
within an existing cityscape.
archohm is designing multiple projects; infrastructure upgradation of the old city with all services coordination, housing
development of midrise and highrise, as well as all the public facilities and amenities. these have been designed and developed
into a 200000 square metres of housing development in the heart of the city.
the mosque of sirte, the most high-profile building complex of the city, is being designed as a state- of-the-art boutique, modern
interpretation made of corten steel and is clad in copper; an image to the city of sirte, and to libya.
this high rise apartment complex has been designed keeping in mind the themes of niche apartment complexes such as ansal's
aquapolis in its vicinity. it aims to provide comfortable, efficiently designed, well-ventilated homes in an apartment that is
conducive to good living.
the highlight to the design was a ramp that criss-crossed its way up to the twenty storeys of these towers. this brought about
tremendous ease of service and circulation in the complex. the elevations were unified into clear single forms of curved glass,
positioned as islands amidst water for cool reflective entrances. the overall layout made the entire interior pedestrianised and
organically landscaped.

archohm designed the master plan for this project, including the common facilities, roads, landscaping, services and usage
patterns. the concept envisages the sez as an integrated facilitation zone, where the synergies of opportunity, capital, business
and entrepreneurship shall come together in a suitably conducive environment to generate the indian growth story.
the master plan created a peripheral vehicular circulation for ease of access. all entries and exits to a massive basement parking
were organized through this ring. the built office blocks were positioned along the periphery to create a large void of green
landscaped jungle that houses the common facilities as well as open into the public pedestrian entry and exit points.
a highpoint with a large signature office tower was created at the busiest end for greater visibility from the highway and in
complete contrast, low-rise residential faicilities were organised on the quietest zones.
this high-end housing complex has been designed to be amritsar's most prestigious development of present times, which shall
cater to the large nri demand for contemporary and comfortable houses.
the establishments are of varied sizes; ranging from small, cozy cottages of 260 sq yards to very large villas of almost 800 sq
yards with flexible and generic layouts.
the big challenge in the project was to bring in a sense of individuality in the houses with a clear overall control over the entire
community development as one comprehensive scheme. a set of tools and materials were identified and shortlisted for the task
as a kit of parts that one could play with to bring about a consistent flavour in the community.
a fairly complex piece of land at the mouth of agra was chosen as the site. four isolated land parcels with a central road were
to be homogenized into one housing whole. ironically, they still needed to follow the byelaws of their individual plots. diminishing
these plot lines is an attempt to integrate a solution that proliferate the complex. the residential blocks needed to align
themselves to an individual block as well as lead into an overall form that lends to the central landscape.
functionally, peripheral vehicular routes and a central club and pedestrian zone with dense greens, stitches the project together
into a new , ‘nouva’ , habitat for the city.
Housing for Intex constructions, an upcoming developer came with the challenge of building a brand image and identity while
keeping the budgets low and design acceptable to a mid town sensibility. This project in Panipat abuts just the highway,
popularly known as the ‘hi pass’, it is an elevated bypass lit and tolled with Archohm’s design.
The concept of massing for the project was to create a large diagonal mass across the site rather than a peripheral arrangement.
This ensured a democratic spread to all residential units with out a ‘front and back price’ and the ‘premium’ would still be available
to units with strategic terraces or views. The diagonal was valid due to the site shape, context and broad orientation. The unified
mass of the towers was an interesting composition of modular units coming together. Common public facilities and play areas
were elevated to create an FAR free shaded lower zone with a vehicular free pedestrian access route across the project.

with the requirement of a signature design, the border plaza was like a visiting card for the concessionaires. a twisted piece of
white sheet was under-lit with changing colours to provide a dynamism in the everyday mundane servicing of the plaza. the pins
would be individually lit, cutting through this sheet. the building layout and form followed the land that was available, and the lack
of which made the rooftop as a parking for this high security plaza. strategic view of traffic and plaza from this rooftop parking and
deck was an added feature to this new benchmark.

a design brief from the client to create a new benchmark in the tolling industry initiated an intense research on toll plazas around
the globe. an attempt to overdo the delhi-gurgaon twisted canopy led to various design proposals, of which anon-canopy plaza
was developed. the basic existence of a canopy was questioned in the project. flexible membrane structures were individually
provided for contractual obligation, but their functional necessity was eliminated. also, a revolutionary layout of splitting the
functions of the plaza into two. one was with high security controls and access points, limited to the operations personnel, whilst
the other was created with a public and facility maintenance interface. the former was strategically positioned in the centre of the
project to secure it from any public intervention and access, while the other was positioned more traditionally on the side. the two
arms of the plaza were also offset for better visibility of the control room.
the control room was located on the second floor; a three sixty degree panoramic view of the entire facility. a clear control over
the incoming and outgoing traffic, the lanes and the highway and the support built facilities. the tunnel was elaborated with a
larger width, with an access point to each booth individually and a secured compartment to each set of toll equipment. it
connected the buildings vertically through lifts and staircases. islands were the loudest features on the plaza. 11 metre high tall
structures with seamless glass fronts were lit with coloured red and green lights to become a signage of sorts for functionality. the
booths were designed in concreted as triangulated structures as a response to the plaza buildings .

it features a 'state of the art' 27 toll lanes set-up with 19 toll booths covered by a 6 metre (average) high canopy of 300 m x 16 m.

it has a tunnel serving the toll collectors and its entire equipment, which links the buildings of the plaza to the individual booths
and further to the canopy. the plaza's life lines, i.e. data cables, electrical and telephone lines, ventilation ducts and plumbing
network are all housed in this 200 m. tunnel running orthogonal to the traffic above.

the buildings were segregated functionally into four blocks; the administration office building and toll management block, which
receives the tunnel and monitors the entire plaza activity took the centre-stage. the maintenance block is strategically placed to
monitor the plaza and opens to a maintenance yard. the third block of point - of - sales is operationally placed on the service lane
in proximity to the main building. the substation and the police booth(not built) were positioned at the end of the service road,
away from the main masses. the area is guarded by retaining walls towards the bund road. also, the plaza was proposed (not
built) as a connected sequence of building bound by a central wall, encompassing the plaza and focusing it to the booths which
are the nodes where the toll is collected. the entire built up area is about 25,000 sq. feet.
archohm's scope of work included the total conceptual design, architectural and interior works, detailed engineering i.e.
structural, electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning and ventilation systems' design. it also included complete design calculations,
proof checks, preparation of tender documents ie. formulation of technical specification and bills of quantities for all disciplines,
advice and assistance to the client in placement of orders for the contractors as well as materials, consultant supervision at the
site and witness of the commissioning tests. the first boot project of the country, this was the first generation of plaza for india. the
project was dedicated to the nation on 24.1.2001, four months ahead of the scheduled completion, a statement in itself!

traffic, ensured a unique central split design for the toll plaza. this enabled a median of facilities and control. the two extended
arms of traffic movement through the canopied lane areas allow unabated future expansion.

the entire infrastructure around tolling facilities as well as the point of sales for the public interface are centrally located with the
required parking and external development. the building is punctuated by two large courtyards for light and ventilation. this
introversion allows blank protected exteriors and lit and airy interiors. the building sat as strong plinth with a berm of landscaped
protection from sound and smoke. the upper floor is lifted with a slit of continuous fenestration.
the exterior exquisites with a blank perforated façade which beard a reference to the jaali work at the taj mahal. sitting on top
was the contemporary piece of control room orthogonally extended towards the traffic for a higher degree of control. the building
stretches under the pavement with large service corridors in the form of a tunnel that terminate into glass and steel booths.
booths and islands are well protected from traffic with steel bracings and from climate with large canopies.
the corporate orange canopy spans under the large white steel arches that light up at night complimenting the heavily
ornamented jaali work and slit of the building. functionally sound yet artistically inclined, the design intends to excite and
express the concessionaire and the users. for archohm, the plaza is a contemporary reflection on one of the most traditional
buildings (wonders) of the subcontinent.

the high visibility plaza was designed to be the gateway to the city for people flying into delhi, nationally and internationally. this
high profile five lane plaza was built to comply with international standards. frameless glass booths, a clean glass toll operations
building unit and a smart membrane canopy structure punctuate this next generation plaza.
canopy design makes use of the tensile fabric thatprovides shade as well as keeps the canopy light and minimal. specialized
lighting through the fabric is designed to enhance the structural aesthetics and bring a sense of dynamism in form and surface.
colour renderings through changing led systems give the canopy an iconic feel that is distinctly visible, while approaching from a
distance. an all-white vocabulary of the plaza is in line with the entire urban colour scheme of the expressway, with its white
designer streetlights and reflectors.
the igi toll plaza was built in record time of six months, marking a new design and engineering trend in plaza construction.

a tight site to house a commercial office space, in the prime locales of ranchi. renowned developers, jokhiram, wanted an
efficient and 'talk of the town' corporate tower to match their reputation. a split-level office floor was created to provide each office
a sense of privacy and independence. a compact core to bring incredible efficiency to the floor plate and play of volumes resulted
in an interesting built form. tight basements for multilevel parking introduced first of its kind car hoists to the city. the entire
structure was shaped and designed to form a flat slab construction to completely eliminate beams from the structure, thereby
giving flexibility in the internals and additional height clearances. a free flowing façade was created with a play of glass and red
stone to allow for natural light equally into each independent floor without forming a repetitive pattern. the entire composition of
red stone, glass and kadappa, make this an object in space, isolated and complete, sitting solidly on its own plinth, supremely
and deliberately detached from its surroundings.
in the heart of ranchi, at the centre and facing the main spine of the city, jd hi-street stands as the vertex to this entire commercial
belt. the 'tall mall' positions itself majestically as a multilayered structure; two atriums across five floors are a comprehensive
volume of retail, a gaming zone floor, a foodcourt, a three cinema multiplex and an ultimate rooftop fine dining. jd high street
stands as the tallest structure in ranchi city centre. three levels of basement parking, a public front court with amphitheatres and
dynamic screens, the mall opens out completely as a public square. atriums, lifts, escalators and stairs connect the vertical
spaces into a dynamic environment with an international flavour. the building structure comes across as a clean composition of
four towers, two wooden and two white. a dynamically lit glass block that sits on top, presenting its colours to the city as a symbol
of change and growth. way above the rest of the city, both metaphoric and literal, jd high street assumes a certain monumental
scale that defines the skyline of ranchi.
the brief for this project was to represent the office as a leader for computer peripherals in the local indian environment. the
design was conceived as a a signature building- a showcase for their corporate environment.
situated on a corner site with a large frontage, the building is designed as an efficient open-plan space with floors overlooking
each other. an independent circular service core and an enclosed foyer as a reception was a composition of solid forms coming
together. the rooftop was seen as a recreational terrace garden and ground as a large reflective pool, enhancing the façade and
distancing it from the adjacent roads and parking. as a feature and gesture, a long cantilevered smoking balcony projects out of
the building façade to look at the building façade as well a reflection into the pool. a clear 'vertigo' threat, this helps smokers feel
extremely uncomfortable. the design also reflects the open, fresh and 'out of the box' philosophy of the clients.

this building is designed as libya's face to the western world. the design is a clean collection of wooden facades that combine
with glass to form a day and night façade that compliment each other. these simple looking masses bring together an
international look and feel, introducing and establishing libya in the world market as an open and upcoming economy.

the project involves the development of a chain of retail stores across india for furniture, furnishings and electronics with spaces
of covered area of over 3 lakh square feet.
each store site has a covered area of more than 50, 00 sq.m. the store essentially includes niche displays for top of the line
products, help and cash counters, office area, washrooms, lifts, and café / refreshment spaces. working in tandem with the
french furniture giants gaurtier, and their design team, archohm's role was to showcase this range with authentic design intent.

the pilot project in noida spanned five floors of furniture retail. archohm was commissioned for facade design,circulation,
services, landscape, lighting and signage. the interiors were simple to enhance the products on display., cash up, service
counters and information are positioned towards the exit. the basement is a collection of accessories that have been displayed
throughout the entire store; display systems from vitra, switzerland give a distinct aesthetical edge to the showroom. products
for living spaces are housed on the ground level, dining on the first, sleeping on the second and kids on the third level; these are
clear demarcations that give the store a 'specialist' furniture store appeal . the essence in design was kept up to match the
universal french gautier look clubbed with the retail expertise on functionality by ebony.

c - 28 c, is the design studio archohm’s head office in india. often labeled as a design fort, the design of the studio reflects the
‘mad and fun’ design philosophy of archomites. amidst the urban city conditions, the triangulated plot is flanked by, the ‘jama
mosque’ on one side, industrial factories on the other and a large slum development on the third.

standing tall at a height of 10m, archohm’s corten steel entrance door creates an intimidating first impression. its revolving
nature and access through a ramp, gives the building its character and symbolizing the continuity of the outer street into this
‘square’, the atrium for visitors. a moat augments the medieval modern dialogue with a revolving bridge that connects the main
studio to the front garden. red sandstone clads the boundary wall, with etchings that depict the focus areas of the firm. the main
building is divided into five components, each of which are defined and exaggerated by the use of distinct materials; concrete,
glass, brick, stone and metal. each component has been designed keeping in mind climatic, contextual and functional
requirements. the glazed façade brings in diffused light, to create optimum working conditions. to distinguish a sense of identity
within the various sectors of the studio, each department is assigned a particular color in the building section and elevation. the
external façade is transparent and houses every department’s files, documents, physical models and material samples,
creating a dynamic visual collage of materials and colours that is able to represent life at archohm, inside out!
placed near the entrance, a robust, circular ‘rotunda’ of brick accommodates all services. dominating the central hollow core,
hangs a yellow felt manuscript, with laser cut, inspiring excerpts from the ‘fountain head’. the apt placement of the rotunda
ensures efficient division of traffic, as visitors reach directly to the meeting rooms. at every half floor height, washrooms are
placed with designed wooden benches for waiting. this service core houses the electrical substation at the base and water works
on top. he entire office space is conceived as a vibrant and active space, interspersed with distinctive mediations, unique, out-ofthe box ideas that demonstrate and inspire creativity amongst archohmites. being used as a live canvas, the exhibit of materials,
colours , textures, exposed surfaces and play of form, make the studio a 3-dimensional library! not only does this help clients
visualize designs but also, helps designers keep design alive!

A dream project of the current governing regime, this project was aimed to bring the collection of one of the oldest
civilizations, on a world stage to one museum.
archohm partnered with the austrian firm, coop himmelblau of the bmw welt fame for this project. . the design was conceived
with the main galleries seen as a series of vaults. this was picked from the traditional indian volumes and extended into a
contemporary context. the entire gallery was protected with a mass of services in the section and storage areas/ facilities in
the plan. this mass was then lifted from the ground to create an open gallery and a ‘shaded’ public plaza. it was interesting
to see how a simple geometric shape transcended into a complex three-dimensional end as a neck, to the project. the
‘traditional’ terracotta claddings gradually converted into high technology, climate sensitive, and energy generating metallic
and glass elements. the face of the project, quite literally, was the entrance volume with the ‘wolf prix’ signature sculpture in
form and texture. it was a clean steel curved form that brought in the required scale to the scheme, making it iconic, that was
a definite aspiration of the project.

hometown to colonel gaddafi, sirte is perhaps the most beautiful town in libya with deserts on one side and sea on the other.
the main avenue to the city had to house a mosque, a statement to emerging libyan economy and expressing its aspiration
to move up as the developing middle east . the mosque was scaled to the site and programmed to the neighbourhood.
the signature to the mosque was the play of materials. the mosque had an external skin of corten steel and rusted copper
patina. both elements that express ageing and oxidising, hence an apt permanant finish to the seaside site. this would avoid
any corrosion and weathering. the entire inner surface scales itself to the human with the best of stones, carpets, lights and
equipment.
the mosque clearly stands as a landmark, as it stands lit and rendered in metals within a largely traditional skyline of a libyan
town.

the jai prakash narayan international centre at lucknow comprises of a multiple number of facilities ranging from an aquatic
center, a sports center, a business center, a museum and a hotel along with sufficient parking space. this center is enclosed
by dr.ram manohar lohiya park on one side and urban development on the other. the design of the building therefore,
aesthetically and functionally fits appropriately into the contrasting contexts of urbanity and nature as on one facade, the park
merges with the building by extending all the way over to the top and on the other hand, the urban side elevation is clad with
terra-cotta that faces the cityscape. the jpn international center will serve as a credible social landmark for the city of lucknow,
the capital of the state of uttar pradesh.
aimed to be the premier center for Hinduism and its learning in North India, the penta pinnacle temple is proposed to be built
on the banks of the holy Ganga in Uttar Pradesh. Being in the hometown of its patron, this temple was required to be iconic
as well as the mecca to put the small town of Anoopshahar on the map of India. Inspired by an open hand, the mandir has
five shikhars devoted to 5 different deities namely - Shiv, Ram, Krishna, Saraswati and Durga; Shiva being housed in the
central shrine. The special proposition of this temple is the monumentality of the five 10-storey high pinnacles of equal
heights. Unlike traditional temple design, that is usually hierarchical in its design, this distinctive and awe inspiring design fully
justified this ancient religion as practiced today to celebrate the democracy of the gods.
the delhi orthodox church center is a cultural complex with a chapel in New Delhi that propagates christianity and its activities
in the capital. The brief given was to reinvent the center with a new perspective without losing its historical and architectural
context. Our research of the Orthodox churches explained that the 'dome' was the most important part of such an edifice and
unlike other expressions of Christianity, this architectural element of the orthodox was sacred. Therefore, emphasizing the
dome, a wooden screen was proposed on either side of it to mark its central axis. Stained glass window featured with
graphic-prayer cut outs brought in a beautiful play of light and color. Programmatically, the building was divided in private,
semi public and public places. Each of these featuring a different finish of materials and texture. The private spaces took in
concrete with corten steel and wood accents. The semi public spaces of the chapel and the dining areas were proposed to
be spotless white with colorful stained glass punctures. The public space were more warm and welcoming with a dialogue of
wood and exposed brick. Simplicity was celebrated through the use of such basic and fundamental mediums.

from pre-schools to universities, archohm has designed educational institutions of all kinds.
what distinguishes each of these projects is the philosophy that extends beyond the buildings and encompasses
the unbuilt spaces. we believe that architecture entails designing, not just of buildings, but also of the spaces
around them. this is critical as in an institutional campus, the open spaces are almost as important as the buildings
themselves. from iim – ahmedabad by kahn and alvar aalto’s otiniemi campus in helsinki to b v doshi’s iim –
bangalore and cept ahemdabad, this fact stands out time and again. for archohm, a desire to create something out
of the box has always been the big excitement. for us, these projects give us an opportunity to play and explore,
educate and inspire in a very tangible attempt to add real and enduring value to projects that entail high levels of
energy and are very relevant to society today.
we have endeavored to put these thoughts in practice through a wide spectrum of educational projects designed
over the past decade. the taurian world school at ranchi is probably the finest example of this attempt to foster an
environment that is most suitable for academic thought and development. it is an attempt to translate the vision of a
young entrepreneur into reality.

the jai prakash narayan international centre at lucknow comprises of a multiple number of facilities ranging from an aquatic
center, a sports center, a business center, a museum and a hotel along with sufficient parking space. this center is enclosed
by dr.ram manohar lohiya park on one side and urban development on the other. the design of the building therefore,
aesthetically and functionally fits appropriately into the contrasting contexts of urbanity and nature as on one facade, the park
merges with the building by extending all the way over to the top and on the other hand, the urban side elevation is clad with
terra-cotta that faces the cityscape. the jpn international center will serve as a credible social landmark for the city of lucknow,
the capital of the state of uttar pradesh.
a campus that redefines educational institutions in terms of facilities and thereby, redefines the built morphology. the intent was
to build a world-class global school with the highest level of materials and technology. an attempt is made to imbibe a philosophy
of liberating the mind. the site is a 42-acre plot of land amidst valleys, far from the 'city pollute'. the bare palette is given an overall
master concept of a larger campus with school, colleges and residential facilities to form an institutional hub.
the first phase of the project is to develop the school; the campus is punctuated with facilities and built blocks strategically
positioned to contain scaled spaces between themselves. the campus is planned as a narrative- a journey, through which
different parts of the institute appear as a layered script. the entire walk through the campus is a process of discovering spaces
and functions.
the journey starts with a 25 ft by 25 ft majestic gate that marks the entry to the school and stamps an introduction to the campus
with an edge. this intimidating structure is automated and centre- rotated to bifurcate the entry and exit. upon entry, one is
welcomed by a sleek state-of-the-art sport and culture facility. to open fresh horizons and stretch the limits of thought, the
structure has a unique suspended basketball court on top that serves as a viewing deck for the entire campus, specially the
sporting facilities and the semi-olympic swimming pool. further, across a steel bridge that spans over a valley of play areas, the
main administration building opens up to funnel in the students and the visitors. the two side faces are completely blank to direct
the focus onto the central core of glass. from the bridge, one can glimpse the teaser of the extruded glass volume of the library
reading bays.
the idea behind designing and detailing this entire campus stems from the fact that memories and images of ones' school
are etched in every child- schooling is an experience that must be enhanced; the students are at such an impressionable
age that the right scenes, sounds and smells can send the right signals. the visual appeal of the environment can impede an
out-of-the-box thinking mind- a global mind that inspires and prepares itself to take on the world from taurian world school.

the client's brief was clear and precise. the main purpose of the school was to create an environment where children can feel at
home. it's about the next generation- therefore measures to create a green building have been taken.
the four-storey building has been designed in a manner that most classrooms face the north, thereby receiving consistent
natural light. extra care has been taken to design the visible southern and eastern faces.
the signature entrance comprises a centrally pivoted steel gate that opens up to 180 degrees. the ground floor consists of day
care for tiny tots up to 3 years old. the entire rear side of the building is on stilts, thereby creating a massive semi-covered play
area on the relatively small plot. the public axis to the rear side of the building is completely cordoned off to ensure a secure
environment for the school. maximum utilization of available space has been made by providing facilities such as a water screen
placed in the rear setback, a mini golf course placed in the south setback and a green terrace in the front half of the roof.
the floors above are accessed through a ramp in front and a central core which comprises a staircase, lifts and washrooms
besides classrooms.
the colour scheme for the building's interior and exterior is inspired from the corporate logo of the school, which is orange and
green. the front elevation is cladded with corten steel; the core and third floor of the building is clad with black kadappa stone
which looks like a huge mass projecting out of the white mass.

located in solan district, the shoolini university lies at the foothills of the himalayas and is built on a site measuring about 12 acres.
archohm was mandated to design the residential, academic and other ancillary blocks of this university. various challenges
included the hilly terrain, the bifurcation of the site by the highway and the existing academic blocks.
apart from the essential knowledge centre and mess blocks, archohm designed the residential units for students as well as
faculty members. the girls' hostel blocks are 'hinged' to each other on the site to form a continuous long strip, to ensure minimum
cutting and filling of earth and deforestation. the faculty residences are designed with complete privacy and their sleek
proportions magnify the view of the green valley. the mess block, serves as a communal space and is kept disparate from the
hostel blocks. the terrace of this block canbe used as a sports/ recreational area. the core academic blocks have been designed
for phased construction, are connected to each other at different levels to create a continuous learning experience. these blocks
have a common base, which has exhibition areas and three lecture theatres that can serve as auditoriums. they are punctured
by visual and experiential spaces on the ground level, which collect on a large landscaped plaza for students to interact and
create a congenial environment for learning.
archohm has successfully re-designed an existing nursery school, transforming it into a modern pre-school with spaces
required for educating toddlers. the design facilitates a radically different usage of the top floor - to conduct mba and bed
programmes for adult students. the project envisages a renewed landscape scheme, which is an amalgamation of soft and hard
landscaping, in an attempt to create an interesting structure that serves its primary function of stimulating intellectual and
physical growth among young children.

the complex had to house a 250-student capacity interactive education space to allow a liberal exchange of views and thoughts.
the program thus featured large landscaped spaces, an amphitheater, a theatre complex, a mosque and a large library to
enhance the classroom based conventional education model. this entire functionality was integrated into a monolith that
reflected a contemporary interpretation of the traditional moon form, thus capturing the essence of the institute itself.
the form with its strong silhouette houses a compact yet functional stack of program. the library was given the loudest and the
largest space with storage and study balanced through a stepped profile allowing visibility yet privacy. one could even go out to
the sloping terrace gardens with the book within the library. a water feature was given, to ensure a calm and cool environment
with play of light and wind. a berm along the site entrance face ensured a degree of privacy for insiders and a level of surprise for
the visitors.
the site also houses a traditional children’s school on one side and a women’s school for higher education, on the other. these
institutes took a more traditional model of a courtyard with sandstone renderings that merged with the landscape. being a
residential school, they had to be integrated with services and larger supporting facilities for sports and culture. a modern,
tolerant campus with coexisting eco systems within the cultural bounds of education.
the elements of jaali and minarets were re-interpreted in their form and function to bring in the essence of traditional islam within
a contemporary setting, a dialogue that aligns the physical and the philosophical.

one of the most challenging projects for archohm, this large campus in chandigarh had a strong promoter vision. the brief was
fairly simple; a world-class education facility with a direct interaction between theory and practice, and a design village with

the sunbeam group of schools brought together an ambitious project where they established a university in the suburbs of
varanasi. the idea was to create an international environment within the confines of a larger campus with varied faculties.

the site was a lush green expanse of land with a central natural lake. the masterplan had a twist in the fact that the promoter was
continuously buying land and hence the plan needed to be an open-ended one.
the design brought the lake as the centre stage with all student activities around it. the university square overlooked this main

feature. a large stadium was planned towards the entry. amphitheatres, air strip, walkways, central library, watchtower, state-ofthe-art hostels and education buildings for 5 engineering, medical, business school and design were the salient components of
the campus. as a design, a contiguous green flows through the residential and academic faculties to continue the growth as
more land and courses increased. the green area works as a circulation and the central community space, a green campus.

a beautiful site with an existing new school building with various issues that needed resolution.
society for the advancement of education
the project was initiated with a new independent block for junior kids. the program required all activities, so as to run it as an entity
in itself including sports, library etc. the terrace of the new block was used for sports and extra-curricular activities. the design
iswoven around a group of existing trees to create a large courtyard with two levels of classrooms overlooking this space. the two
levels are connected with a large ramp to enable safe and secured passage for young children. the children's domain is bound
from all sides as a secured shaded space which can easily be manned by staff.

another annexe of a large 1000 capacity indoor auditorium is created with relevant facilities . with an independent entrance and
services, a semi-olympic sized swimming pool complex is also incorporated in the design.
the design is an opportunity to create a state of the art facility for the school. a large canvas facing the school grounds is
facilitated to exhibit and express student works. a multi-level foyer is created to accommodate informal workshops and shaded
facilities that can double up as an outdoor spill-over for the auditorium. large services and toilets are shared between the
swimming pool and the auditorium to strategically double up and economise.
the entire construction is a clean built vocabulary with exposed brick and metal sheeting works.

eight floors distributed a complex program that is integrated within a comprehensive design scheme for a consistent look and
feel. design of the spaces is derived from individual functionalities with each floor having its own identity. all the independent

and a massive library were the main focus of the project as they express the image of the institute with exposure to the external

the design & documentation process entailed coordination between the client in hongkong and archohm delhi office. the building
materials are picked up from a plethora of various finishes comprising of the european, chinese, thai & indian.
the design incorporated the use of wall papers & timber blended with use of modern materials such as glass and mirror. the
brilliant use of different tints and shades of timber, give a warm sensation that is further embellished with toppings of marble,
mirror and glass. the entire ceiling is plain with cove lights running along the length of wall. the featured timber roof over the bar
area is accentuated as a highlight. contrary to this, is the recessed mirror roof over the island seating . the lattice artwork at the
entrance is conceived as the focal point of this entire theme.

centrium mall is one of the oasis in the fastest upcoming city of dubai. this is a 31 storied apartment building with 4 separate
towers. the towers being interconnected upto second level.
the lower levels being the parking floors while the second, third and fourth floors housed the common facilities like swimming
pool, gymnasium, children play area, indoor and outdoor function rooms, prayer rooms, billiards and games room.
the doubled height entrance lobby of each tower very efficiently secluded the external traffic from the internal habitable areas.
the interiors of lobbies incorporated a mix of wood , glass and stone, a typical feature, vertical wooden interiors.
the female gymnasium was given a delicacy with the white limestone and wooden interiors while the male gymnasium was given
a sturdy look with grey sand stone.
the indoor and outdoor function rooms exhibit a mind blowing interplaying function of lights mingled with prayer room design
respected the typical arabian culture and the vibrant color schemes in the play areas clearly depicted hoe much each and every
corner is thought of.

the shangri-la hotels and resorts is a hotel chain based in hong kong. it is the largest asian based luxury hotel group in the region
and this hotel was designed in anticipation of the world's spotlight in the beijing olympics. the work included providing interior
design services for the serviced apartments (typical 1, 2& 3 bedrooms) lift cars & corridors, lift and main entrance lobby. the
overall design concept is created in a classic contemporary style. the monotony of the long corridors of the serviced apartments
is overcome by introducing drops in the false ceiling at the entrance door of each apartment. each entrance door is emphasised
by the special play of 3 different timber textures with a special touch of led light to give a warm feeling.
the same theme continues into the serviced apartment lift car and lift lobby interiors. the main entrance lobby is designed to keep
the large incoming traffic comfortable and isolated. contrary to the lift lobby, the entrance lobby extensively portrays the use of
modern materials such as steel and glass. each category of rooms and suites, is designed as a different colour scheme, carpet,
case goods etc. to provide a luxury environment that is achieved through distinct foyers, special features and artistic touches.

the interiors are developed with a wooden look and feel, inline with the japanese 'tatami'. architecture and landscape both are
designed with references to the 'katsura' temple in japan.
from large doors, graphic windows, paneled walls and warm interiors, the project is conceived as an insulated and isolated
design. a fairly complex set of 'high end' services complete this well-coordinated machine. air conditioned kitchens, automated
bathrooms, water filtration systems, fresh air purification and water harvesting are all an inherent feature of the project.
a boutique hotel is developed for the guests of mitsui corporation, japan. the site is located in the prime jorbagh residential zone
of delhi on the main lodhi road. the built structure is developed as a simple form that is, calm and discrete. exclusivity of facilities
and privacy of the guests were of utmost importance. hence the hotel houses public and entertainment facilities on the lower
floor and private sleeping facilities on the first floor. built on the concept of the traditional courtyard, that is centered as a golden
black bamboo garden, all rooms open outwards and all passages overlook the internal landscape. an external skin of wooden
fins and pergolas is formed to create the desired shade and cover.

bulgaria, a new entrant to the european union, has a very potent tourism industry with its culture and climate that support skying.
a relatively inexpensive and exotic destination is created with innumerable ski resorts. grand bansko and crown bansko are two
distinct properties of the same developer that are positioned for a different target clientele.
the external façade is created with the traditional morphology of sloping roofs, brick and stone exteriors and raw landscapes.
the interiors are plush and comforting to suit the western european tastes and standards. a combination of studio apartments,
hotel rooms and suites, restaurants and business centres and a large support facility make this project a state of the art attraction

a ten-storey office space, the bare structure was to house the corporate headquarters for the dsc group. a basic strategy was
employed; to stratify the function into various levels to control the traffic flow within the premises.
two lower floors of services and staff facilities of gym, café and seminar and training centres keep the working environment away
from the noise and traffic . the entry level is designed an exceptional reception walkway, a 50 metre long experiential corridor,
almost intimidating for the visitor. the route ends with concealed, flexi meeting rooms on one side and a visitor gallery on the
other. working floors are staggered in accordance to seniority and functionality.
the chairman floor with exclusive rooftop facilities is created as an independent and self-sufficient environment. the entire design
brings together the culture and philosophy of the company and reflects their power and growth.
c - 28 c, is the design studio archohm’s head office in india. often labeled as a design fort, the design of the studio reflects the
‘mad and fun’ design philosophy of archomites. amidst the urban city conditions, the triangulated plot is flanked by, the ‘jama
mosque’ on one side, industrial factories on the other and a large slum development on the third.
standing tall at a height of 10m, archohm’s corten steel entrance door creates an intimidating first impression. its revolving
nature and access through a ramp, gives the building its character and symbolizing the continuity of the outer street into this
‘square’, the atrium for visitors. a moat augments the medieval modern dialogue with a revolving bridge that connects the main
studio to the front garden. red sandstone clads the boundary wall, with etchings that depict the focus areas of the firm. the main
building is divided into five components, each of which are defined and exaggerated by the use of distinct materials; concrete,
glass, brick, stone and metal. each component has been designed keeping in mind climatic, contextual and functional
requirements. the glazed façade brings in diffused light, to create optimum working conditions. to distinguish a sense of identity
within the various sectors of the studio, each department is assigned a particular color in the building section and elevation. the
external façade is transparent and houses every department’s files, documents, physical models and material samples,
creating a dynamic visual collage of materials and colours that is able to represent life at archohm, inside out!
placed near the entrance, a robust, circular ‘rotunda’ of brick accommodates all services. dominating the central hollow core,
hangs a yellow felt manuscript, with laser cut, inspiring excerpts from the ‘fountain head’. the apt placement of the rotunda
ensures efficient division of traffic, as visitors reach directly to the meeting rooms. at every half floor height, washrooms are
placed with designed wooden benches for waiting. this service core houses the electrical substation at the base and water
works on top. he entire office space is conceived as a vibrant and active space, interspersed with distinctive mediations, unique,

as one enters the two offices of vestergaard frandsen in saket, one is greeted with an atmosphere of warmth mixed with
vibrance. the finesse of the design based on simple and contemporary lines is visible on the first glance.
the two offices in proximity of each other evoke a varied ambience. one touches the corporate swiss environment with vibrant
colours and minimalist materials. the bold open layout (no low partitions) reflects the philosophy and value of the design intent of
the able team that indulged in creating this space with more time, instead of money. the nature of this minimalist corporate
headquarters is such that each element is deliberated upon and expresses the acute need to remain in existence.
the second office, is larger and more populated; hence the design answers the need to create an introverted environment that
allows for long, but pleasant working hours. the working office is an open plan with no partitions and long hanging lights that
accentuate the clean, straight line workstations. the open diagonal arrangement of seats enables privacy for the individual,
without any physical segregation. central to this entire space is a large green island, enhanced through a forest of palms. this
works as a focal object and the centre of attraction creating a semi visibility barrier. it also absorbs sound effectively. as
onewalks through the office, one can sense the openness in the space and visualise a smooth blend of materials.
modern materials like glass have been amalgamated well with traditional materials such as raw wood, with ease, creating a
refreshing vocabulary.
the colours used are neutral with splashes of bright greens, to accentuate the basic browns and whites.

delhi tourism invited archohm to submit an entry for a competition that was eventually won to develop the entire corporate office,
a centrally located top floor that needed complete redevelopment.
given an outer envelope of a ratio of 1:2:5,the space strongly suggested a linearity which was a restraint as the grid. the structure
and the services suggest a further 'corridor' action and enhancement of the space.
the primary exercise is to break this limiting unidirectional space by cleaning out the internal walls and panels. through relocation
and reorientation, the space is redefined. all exterior interaction is restricted to one side of the office, contrary to the central
exposure of the entire office to the visitors in the current layout. natural light sources are opened from both sides, which creates a
huge difference to the environment.
a fusion of various contrasting materials is developed as a vocabulary of the entire surface space. agra red stone is used to clad
the main wall surfaces and columns. the material is good for maintenance, fire resistant and being locally available,
aesthetically makes a statement about delhi. all central columns are treated as pins with stainless steel cladding on top and
bottom and a central red stone cladding with stainless steel studs to anchor it. an idea of a 'foot rail' is created to protect glass at
the base from the foot through the stainless steel details at various ends and skirting in front of glass sheets,. design elements
include panes of full height glass, wooden doors and storage used as full height partitions. in the main space, the floor has a
rustic tiled pattern tracing the path of yamuna across delhi.
a clear and simple design approach with materials reflects their true nature and form, enhancing a sharp straight-lined modern

a massive facility for a japanese client; the building was intended to be the asia pacific interface for the firm.
the project demanded a large reception and waiting spaces. a visitor gallery, lounge and lobbies were designed and developed
to keep the large incoming traffic comfortable and isolated. warm wooden interiors are concieved with flexible meeting rooms,
conference centre, board rooms and senior management facilities . an experimental vocabulary of hung stone on glass is used
to partition these spaces , in order to maintain the corridors as a visual extension of the rooms, thereby enhancing space and
giving the office a matured evolved yet vibrant feel.

discovery bay resort is one of the premier resorts of hong kong's most prestigious and largest real estate development. the
designi brief was for the all -day dining restaurant for this prestigious resort, in order to create an experience beyond description.
the design successfully integrates the outdoor deck area with the interior spaces, keeping in mind the theme of sea ambience;
an aqua colour scheme us effectively put to use to in the colour scheme of the seating to the serving areas. the restaurant is
designed to serve 500 people at a time.
the whole restaurant is divided into various functional units, namely private seating, banquet seating, seating around columns,
bar area, wine rooms etc. accentuated features are a wavy false ceiling, column-cladded like the ship sails, the inverted boat
shaped feature and a tent structure over the banquet seating. each and every corner of the interiors are in line with the theme of
the restaurant. all the interiors are in tints and shades of blues.
despite the different spatial divisions, the ribboned ceiling is used to successfully integrate the entire restaurant as a single and
heavenly place, that can surely make one's dream come true!

a high profile office for these japanese giants at this prime location was justified with an elaborate yet elegant scheme. the office
to house the corporate headquarters with the top management operating out of this facility. the entrance and visitor areas were
developed as plush spaces with play of wood and italian stones on floors, walls and ceilings.
a limited high level staff is organized in an open seating plan with large and spacious layout. meeting and conference areas are
glass intensive with indirect and ambient lighting.
a fully loaded office project with a comprehensive and compact scheme of services and structure.

calories café is a chain of restaurants specialising in desserts and drinks. true to its name, the entire design theme is derived
from a comparative of calories, less or more. a graphic representation of the same, in terms of a fat square and a linear rectangle
are used explicitly in space making. this is reflected in all elements; from floors, to wall graphics, lights to cutlery to create a
holistic expression.
a colour palette in the family of browns and reds is selected whilst the material palette is corian and leather. a comfortable lounge
environment is envisaged by means of the 'all sofa' experience to take comfort seating to the next level.
double volumes are created to provide a spacious feel, liberal seating. limited, but quality cuisine are a clear reflection of the
confidence of the promoters and the design intent is supported and reflected in the built environment.
centrium mall is an oasis in the fastest upcoming city of dubai, a 31 storied apartment building with 4 separate towers that are
interconnected upto the second level.
the lower levels are the parking floors, while the second, third and fourth floors house the common facilities like swimming pool,
gymnasium, children play area, indoor and outdoor function rooms, prayer rooms, billiards and games room.
the doubled height entrance lobby of each tower efficiently secludes the external traffic from the internal habitable areas. the
interiors of lobbies incorporate a mix of wood , glass and stone, a typical feature with vertical wooden interiors.
the female gymnasium is provided with a delicacy of white limestone and wooden interiors, while the male gymnasium is created
with a sturdy look with grey sand stone.
the indoor and outdoor function rooms exhibit a mindblowing interplay of lights mingled with prayer room design that respects
the typical arabian culture. the vibrant color schemes in the play areas depicts how each and every corner is detailed.
this project reflected wave of the high standards of development flowing in the entire uae region.

this lawyer's office is a compact design space that reflects the nature of the firm and its positioning. the design needed to
integrate large storages that did not overwhelm the space yet remaining very accessible. also, the idea was to liberate the floor in
multiple areas. books, television, tables and accessories shelves are suspended across the space. white contemporary glass
and grey traditional veneer bring in the mix of color and texture to give this place the character of a young lawyer's domain. this
office space has given its due on design and deliberation in all the critical places that effect the work and the working
environment. the best of german and italian lights, chairs, artwork and finishes punctuate the space.

an extremely challenging design brief created an opportunity to work around the basic functionalities and requirements of a
client in a location where time, energy, money and exposure were unlimited. agra is an upcoming tier 2 town, with restrained
access to resources; one could dare to dream an idea and it stood a good chance of converting itself to reality. through this
project, archohm focuses on innovation and fresh design to meet new urban challenges, while making optimum utilization of
space and resources.
a tight site in an eminent neighborhood of private residences results in a distinct skyline and vocabulary. the façade is designed
to establish a blank, bold and clean statement; using it as a tool to express style, while respecting the privacy of the owners and
confronting the design typology of front gardens and glass.
the house is conceived as a complex composition of interconnected spaces that flow into each other. a play of views is
developed through fenestrations that are placed strategically in the form of north lights, top lights and structural glazing. an
introverted layout is planned with family living and dining spaces opening into a central courtyard that lends controlled light and
views into this private residence. formal entertainment spaces on one side and private sleeping zone on the other define and
shade the courtyard. an outer blank shell of wood and inner perforated skin of white and glass complement to each other.
the route is designed as a story that unfolds dramatically. ramping up and along the blank façade to a sixteen foot high door, then
through a top-lit long and narrow passage, one arrives into the double height entrance foyer with a gloating glass bridge. moving
ahead, one comes to the family living and dining areas. the house builds itself into an introverted theme, which converges into
the central courtyard. a story unfolds with each new space in the house. stylish bathrooms fitted into elongated parallel spaces
with black and white design board. elegant bedrooms spaces with huge spatial dimensions, punctuated with designer italian
furniture. an attached study/ entertainment room is built-in with a cozy, comfortable environment that is augmented by dark wood
flooring.
functionally, the basement accommodates the cars and the services, the ground level accommodates public functions, the first
floor contains the private domain, and the top level accommodating the intensive servant back up; this makes the facility
vertically compact. the independent servant and service facility and routing has been developed, so as to keep the house
insulated from any unnecessary traffic and views.

natural light. lot of the light is brought in without views of the neighbouring houses infringing - through the concrete fins spanning
forty feet. as one climbs the double flight of steps that brings you to the living floor one sees the double volume with a glazed top
connected across three levels through natural light.

as a gesture of connect and dialogue, this was conceived as the literal and virtual next step. so the old house blank and bold
brown facade was replicated as a back ground to this really scaled and glossy white glass cuboid in front that positions itself
within a landscape. the garden unfolds and enters the lower ground floor to create a more natural and lit formal basement
space.

built in context to archohm’s requirements, this universal board room table reflects the company’s simple, bold and minimalistic
design philosophy. it’s clean, raw, basic and out of the box concept, makes it one of the most popular archohm products. when
it was conceptualized, it was shunned by structural engineers as ‘non – practical’ due to its span. however, having faith on their
own designs, the company went ahead with production and today the table sits in the centre of their orange boardroom. it uses
bare concrete with a smooth top, redefining the ‘heavy’ notion often associated with the material and makes the structure seem
radically ‘light’.
this efficient triangular presentation table has been designed for maximum seating space with minimal construction needs. it
expands 20ft by 20ft and uses the spanning properties of r.c.c. to create an expansive but light structure. though made out of
concrete, its floating polished top creates an interesting illusion which has left many observers, baffled. based on a central
support which is integrated with the slab and has cantilevered edges, this mushroom like table is a clear example of innovative
material use. the structure also takes into consideration wire management and effectively conceals conduits. its universal
aesthetic appeal makes it a favorite amongst clients and acts as a live example of how concrete can be used to create light
weight and radical structures.

2013
the design of dilli haat mayur vihar is centered around a green organic scheme. being aligned to an existing Metro line, it speaks of
landscaped green architecture that complements the proximity of the infrastructure development nearby. programmatically rich, this
haat has provisions for dormitories for artisans, craft courts, food court, guest houses and indoor-outdoor banquets.

coffee homes create an environment that connects the functions from one level to another without distributing identities a space with
an overwhelming volume, a forum with a strong character, an inviting amphitheater, a multipurpose hall, a café zone, a library, and an
internet dock.
spiretech
2011
a high profile global design competition in india with a mix land-use brief at a site in greater noida. the project was a take on indian
urbanity and a direction to contemporary indian architecture. 'paan' as an indian flavour was interpreted in experience and as an
organiser of space to make a green sustainanble environement around a business park.
geeta colony
2009
after dlehi haat janakpuri, this was a dilli haat in east delhi that was centred around a spa, an ayurvedic treatment centre. a central
court of existing trees organised the shops and the entire experience was a mosaic (literal and metaphorical) of experiences of an
indian bazaar.

haat beat. a musical theme superimposed on the regular haat program lent a fresh flavour to the program and injected a new life in
terms of foot falls. a prime tourism destination for fast growing west delhi.

a large urban knot woven around a clover leaf junction. this project brought together all faculties of urban design together.
comprehensive design of lighting, landscape, street furniture and a four level transport hub in the centre brought the complex
scheme together.

a large and complex solution to road networks. the first project to take the architectural input on all structures to give the project an
international scheme. level of detail in structural aesthetics was the challenge.

an urban insert to facelift the city infrastructure. membrane structures and innovative landscape design brought in a new perspective
to flyovers.

a high visibility urban insert . a new concept of pedestrian bridges and underpasses was developed to give the city a new landmark.

a challenging design brief to superimpose values of delhi tourism and transportation. window to delhi as it would also attract regular

the competition entry took tollways into the next generation of design. a signature plaza, an urban scheme for the 30 km stretch.
