THE BIG IDEA
Mood is contagious
Mood impacts relationships and results
Rapport emerges out of shared attention, positive mood, and
synchrony
Synchrony is defined as biological systems entraining or falling into
rhythm with one another
Synchrony and rapport are essential ingredients for coordinating
well with others

REFLECTION / FIELDWORK
Think of an experience you’ve had working with others where
everything just “clicked” and things flowed smoothly.
Consider: how did people’s presence, mood, and rapport
contribute to this?
Design an embodied practice that helps people feel themselves,
feel each other, and move together in a coordinated fashion.
Construct a narrative that explains the reasons one might
engage in this practice and what makes it work.
