Horse Sale Terms & Conditions
1.
The highest bidder is the buyer. Any dispute between two or more bidders, sole
authority to settle the dispute as he sees fit is reserved by the auctioneer, including
the right to reject any or all bids.
2. Terms of the sale are cash or bankable check. No credit cards.
3. When a horse is sold, title shall pass to the buyer.
4. Horses are offered for sale according to the laws of the State of Montana, and the
right to bid is reserved for all sellers in this sale.
5. Horses are at the buyer’s expense and risk and responsibility from the time of the
purchase, but no delivery will be made until final settlement has been made.
6. There is no guarantee of any kind as to the soundness or condition or other quality
of any horse sold in this sale except in a case where the owner makes a specific
guarantee. In such cases, the guarantee is strictly by the owner and not the sale
management.
7. Checks will not be distributed for 7 days until management knows they have cleared
the bank.
8. The sale management, auctioneers, and employees act as agents for the sellers, but
assume no liability for either buyer or sellers. Any representations made by the sale
management are made on behalf of the seller.
9. Every effort has been made to ensure correctness of the catalog. However, sales
management, printer, and auctioneer assume no responsibility for errors or omissions.
10. Checks should be made payable to Headwaters Livestock.
11. Sellers have the right to bid. The auctioneer may protect the seller.
12. Any person attending this auction does so at his/her own risk and no liability, duty,
obligation, and/or responsibility shall be imposed upon Headwaters Livestock, any
consignors, or any of their agents, for any accident, injury, mishap, theft, damage
and/or any other harm, regardless of the source or imposition.

She is a get on and go horse with a fast walk and easy riding jog. Good strong trail horse for confident rider, packed
elk two years bow hunting, one week on Chief Joseph trail
in high mountains of Lolo Nat’l Forest. Used as guest
horse so she neck reins. No buck, bite or kick. Loads
readily, easy shoes if you let her know who’s boss. Keep
off too much feed. She has never foaled. Tango is very
smart and friendly and eager to go on trails.

catch, very sociable. Nice to shoe and has been worked on a
ranch her whole life. Gathering cattle, and of all things Buffalo too. She side passes and will let you open and close
gates. Loves people. She has been at the Three Forks Auction yard's for a month sorting and penning. She is very good
on trail and rough country. She has been turned out this winter without hay so she is in her everyday winter attire. I am
selling her to help pay for my son's mission, and there is no
other reason but that.

We raised and trained this 6 yr old bay mare and she is
one we are very proud of. Probably the nicest horse we
have ever offered for sale. “Princess” stands about 14’3”,
is very responsive and will perform. She has a big stop,
turns around nice, switch’s leads, and has lots of flex and
bend to do her job. She has had extensive training to be a
cutting horse but would go to the reining discipline as
well. This is what you call a true well broke horse. A
real package deal with looks, confirmation, breeding, and

I have owned this gelding since he was 3. He is a real
ranch horse and is easy to catch, load and back out of a
trailer. He has all of his shots and is wormed. I used him
in the Big Hole working cattle so he does very well in different terrain. You can head or heal on him and he will
ground tie. Everything that has been done on him is outside
pasture riding. He is very loving, has pretty good feet, and
is sharp shod. He is being used right now at the Three Forks
Auction Yard until the sale. He is the real deal.

a real pleasing attitude. She is bred to be real cowy and to have
a lot of run. She has been ridden outside on the ranch, and in
the arena. This mare is very versatile and not much bothers her.
She has been started in several disciplines; working cow horse,
reining and roping. She loves cow work with nice stops and
turns. Here is a mare that you can ride down the trail, move
cows on, or use in the arena. She is gentle with an excellent
disposition, loves people, rides nice and is pretty.

“Sparky” is about 15 hands and about 1150 lbs. He is one of
the “go to” kind of horses that you want when you have job
to do. I have dragged hundreds of calves to the fire on him.
If you like to rope and drag calves to the branding fire, you
will love to ride this one. I have roped everything from
calves to bulls on him and he is always willing. He has good
feet and stands good to shoe, saddle, bridle and to get on.

11 year old dapple palomino, sure to turn heads. This fellow is
stout enough to do what you want but at 15 hands, not too tall to
get on and off of all day. “Chance” is a good ride who can cover
some country when you need him to. He has some cutting in his
background, so he is great in the sorting pen. He has done some
roping and even been used in a dude string, so he is gentle in the
mountains, though he is not for absolute beginners. He is at his
best when he has a job, take him and put him to work.

handle overall. I trained her to back out of the stock trailer.

16 Year Old Half Shetland/Half QH Mare
I bought Silver from some of my clients who had out-grown her. She worked great
for leading some of our younger nieces and nephews around the yard. Then we lent
her to some friends for their older boys to ride for a couple of years. But now there
is not much interest in her here. She would love to go to a new family that would
give her more attention and have some fun together. She needs regular trimming of
her feet to keep her from getting sore, though I have had very little trouble keeping
her sound. “Silver” has a great personality. She is easy to catch, stands good tied for
grooming and saddling.

Ranch raised filly, turning 4 this spring, one owner. She
stand just 14 hands but will still probably fill out more.
She’s ready for training. I intended to keep her as a replacement brood mare, but I found another gray mare that was
not related to my stallions. Holly has spent 1 winter on the
slopes of the Big Horns and 2 summers up on our mountain
pastures in very rough terrain. Mountain wise, cow bred,
sells sound in every way and has never been exposed to a
stallion. Loads like a charm, trims easily and is always
there at the gate to be caught or fed. Perfect cutting or
small rope prospect and a classy halter show prospect!
