1) INTRODUCTION
MODEF EXPO 2010 was opened to trade visitors
on 01 November 2010. The 24th edition of MODEF
EXPO was launched at International Exhibition
Center in Inegol, Bursa – TURKEY on 01 – 07
November 2010.
Inegol, the homeland of the furniture in Turkey,
hosted international professionals with its best
quality furniture with the best price. It is the biggest
reason for the fair to double up its international
buyers from all over the world.
MODEF EXPO 2010 – One of the largest
exhibitions in Turkey for Furniture presented
exquisite modern, classic, antique and modular
furniture; dining and bed groups; armchairs, chairs
and sofas; baby and young rooms; and furniture
accessories.
MODEF EXPO 2010 presented the latest trends
and designs in furniture with 140 exhibiting
companies and labels. It is visited by 11.500 professionals including 1.235 foreign
visitors. Also the visitors have visited more than 1000 furniture companies and 1500
production centers in the city, which located in the walking distance to the fairground.

2) THE MARKET
Today, furniture is one of the most important and dynamic sector in Turkey with over US
$ 6 billion production, almost 25% of which is marketed in international markets, and with
300.000 jobs in 60.000 companies. The furniture industry also has particular importance
for Turkey due to its promising export potential.
The industry is clustered mainly in Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa (Inegol) and Kayseri. These
regions are either in the center of forest resources or near large domestic markets.
Wood working art in Inegol goes back to early 20th century. And today Inegol is holding
position of being centre of Turkish Furniture Sector. Now the local brand is getting to be
the world brand. More than 300 furniture exporter companies in Inegol, export ‘INEGOL
FURNITURE’ to approximately 150 countries in the world.
Modern and classical sofa sets, bedroom sets, dining room sets, sitting groups, sofas,
coaches, children and young room furniture, kitchen and furniture accessories are the
most preferred types of Inegol products.
Inegol furniture industry contributes to today’s economy as big as not to be
underestimated. Very few furniture work places of the past left their places to thousands
of work places. There are manufactured too many furniture types and designs in these
work places.
Through MODEF EXPO, which is the furniture exhibition that is organized international,
local companies of the sector and the buyers get the opportunity to come together for
furniture every year in Inegol, Bursa-Turkey!

in the past months prior to exhibitions. Through dedicated databases, the fair in 2010 has

Total attendance of visitors to MODEX EXPO 2010 is 1.235 international visitors from 48
different countries. The fair is visited by 11.500 professionals from all around Turkey.
