Meet your Friends
Garden of Life
In one of the very few moments I
seemed to have between shuttling my
children between church, school and
sporting events, I admired my
neighbor’s garden; the colorful blooms
that greeted everyone as they
approached her door, the cool shade
that welcomed the weary gardener,
the scent of lilacs on the breeze that
relaxed my busy mind. I complimented
her beautiful garden and lamented my
sad lack of one. “Right now,” she said,
giving me a big hug, “you’re growing children. Look how big they’ve grown!”
Gardens have served as metaphors for the many phases of life and the wide range of
emotions and personalities. Gardens remind you of all you can accomplish given time
and care.
At first people refuse to believe that a strange new thing can be done, then they
begin to hope it can be done, then they see it can be done — then it is done and all
the world wonders why it was not done centuries ago.
Teen Liaison Megan Brua grew up in
the Wayzata district and has been

long as she can remember.

became interested in becoming more
involved in the library and learning

joined the board in February.

The Friends of the Plymouth Library
(FPL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to our community
library, allowing more programming for
children,
teens,
adults,
and
retirees. 100% of proceeds and taxdeductible donations go to the library.
Our mission is to support the Plymouth
Library by providing resources,
promoting programs and services, and
strengthening community.
FPL
volunteers also assist Library staff with
many activities throughout the year.
Membership is open to all.

Used Book Sales!
Bargain hunters and book lovers take note: the next Friends of the Plymouth Library Used Book Sales will be on June 27 th and
September 12th. The sales includes hundreds of gently-used adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction books in hardcover and
paperback which have been donated by the community and withdrawn from the Hennepin County Library System.
Most books are priced at $2 or less, and $5 per bag during Bag Sales. Friends of the Plymouth Library may shop an hour earlier
than the general public. If you are not a current member, you may join at the
door.

DVDs, CDs and puzzles. Regularly scheduled donation times have been established from 10:30am—12pm on the first Saturday of
each month. There is no donation time scheduled for July 4 th. Check out our website or Facebook page for dates or pick up an informational bookmark at the library.
