LEGO CLUB
Lego Club is held for kids on the third Thursday of the
month, October through May, from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Enjoy

COVER TO COVER BOOK CLUB
The Cover to Cover Book Club meets the
third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 8:00 pm. Titles alternate between fiction

SUMMER READING SUCCESS!
The Library staff would like to thank everyone who participated in our
Summer Reading Challenge. The community surpassed our reading goal by
over a million pages!
LOST COMMUNITIES

All ages are welcome to come hear about Nappanee’s lost
communities: Locke, Stumptown, Gravelton, Hastings and
Hepton. Bring some stories of your own to share as well!

GENEALOGY CLUB
Tuesday, October 11 | 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Searching for that missing relative (we know everyone has
one) or trying to connect yourself to a famous person? Come
the 2nd Tuesday of each month, starting in October, and
work on filling in your family tree. Our Heritage Collection
Staff has worked on our genealogy resources and can guide/
help you to finding your ancestors.
Martha, our Heritage Collection Manager and Library Skills
Trainer, will share her triumphs and frustrations with her family
tree. Feel free to ask how she not only found out she’s related
to a certain chocolate empire, but how she found her long
lost great grandmother.
We will have genealogical forms
available for you and will help you learn
how to use them. Meets in the Library.

Make a Succulent Terrarium on September 14, and a Book Craft on October 12. Cost is $5
per project. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Recipe Swap* | 2nd Monday monthly | 7:00 - 8:00 pm | Adults
Exchange recipes and collect some new favorites in this monthly program. Submit recipes to
the Library a week in advance of each program and bring a dish to share. You’ll go home with a stack
of new recipes each time! Make and sample slow cooker recipes in September and soups in October.

Come enjoy a salsa tasting and meet local author, Shannan Martin, and learn about her new book,
“Falling Free: Rescued From the Life I Always Wanted,” which will be released in September. Martin,
known for her popular blog Shannan Martin Writes (formerly Flower Patch Farmgirl,) is a speaker
and writer who found her voice in the country and her story in the city. She and her jail-chaplain
husband, Cory, have four funny children who came to them across oceans and rivers. Having sold
their dream farmhouse, they now enjoy neighborhood life in Goshen, Indiana.

Hear some real life ghost stories from the Michiana Chapter of the Indiana Ghost Trackers. Indiana Ghost
Trackers, Inc., is a statewide not-for-profit organization with Chapters in Indiana. They investigate paranormal
activity using photography, voice recording, video and other technology that aids in the detection of unexplained
phenomena.

program series! The Adventure Club
will educate attendees with fun and
unique activities on a variety of
different topics spanning from history,
science and art. For every adventure
attended, attendees will receive a
unique key! The first Adventure Club
program will be explorers. Each
attendee will be given the identity of
a real-life explorer throughout history.
Some explorers will include Amelia
Earhart, Jacques Cousteau and
Edmund Hillary. All attendees will learn
about the different kinds of explorers
and the importance
they have had on
history.
