Collection Assembly Instructions (1:12)
Bottle Rockets
1. Paint four wood sticks
that accompany the kit
with magenta craft paint.
2. Place the end of one of
the tissue paper sheets
about .5" down the end of
a wood stick. Tightly roll
the complete length of
tissue. Repeat the
following steps for all 8
fancy sparklers.
3. Place a dot of glue to the
end of the tissue and
press against roll to hold
roll securely.
4. Place a dot of glue to the
outside of the tissue roll
about 1/8" above the
bottom edge of tissue.
Then place the end of a
fancy sparkler head on
the glue.
Required tools and supplies:
! X-acto knife and fresh blade
! A thin metal straightedge ruler. Make fold lines by pressing
against edge of the ruler.
! Small detailing scissors, tweezers
! Good cutting mat. Cardboard will ruin your your project.
! Fast-grab, quick-dry white craft glue that dries clear
! An acid-free glue stick
! Small piece of aluminum foil to use as a glue pot
! Slender artist's paintbrush to apply glue
! Optional: Color felt-tip pens to cover white paper edges
! Optional: Magenta craft paint

5. Wrap the head around
the tissue roll to the end.
Place a dot of glue to the
blank inner surface of the
end of the fancy sparkler
head and press to secure
roll.
6. Clip the excess tissue roll
off the end of the fancy
sparkler--about ½" or a
tiny bit more. Refer to the
photo for visual
guidance.
7. Take the small detailing
scissors and clip down
the tissue tube in about
three evenly spaced clips.
This produces the long
tissue fringe at the top of
the fancy sparkler.
8. Play with the ends in
order to give the fringe
some volume.
9. Box assembly is
straightforward, always
begin by folding and then
glueing the box’ side tab.
Fountains
1. Cut out all fountains.
Take a separated ply of
twine and cut to
approximately 1" in
length for each wick.
Work at making a perfect
cone of one of the
fountains. Do this before
applying glue.
2. Glue the wick inside the
opened cone. Make a
wick of about ½" long
out of the top. Apply a
coat of glue with the paint
brush to the area
designated on the printed
cone for the overlap.
Press into position. Use a
pair of tweezers to create
a good bond.
3. Repeat steps for all the
fountains.
4. Box assembly is straight
forward.
Firecrackers and Box,
Rockets and Roman
Candles
1. Roll all the firecrackers as
tightly as possible. The
easiest way to accomplish
this is to crease about
1/16" along short end.
The crease facilitates the
rolling action of holding
the end between the
index finger and thumb.
2. Spin the roll against the
length of your thumb.
Glue the blank surface to
the firecracker and press
firmly to hold the roll.
3. Once all firecrackers have
been rolled and glued,
separate 1 ply of twine
that is included with kit.
Place a dot of glue to the
center of one of the
firecrackers and place the
glue point to the center
mark of the ply of twine.
4. Adding firecrackers to the
line will be a little like
weaving. Turn the string
and center firecracker
over (after glue has
dried). Glue a firecracker
to the twine to one side of
the first firecracker. Then
place another on the
other side of the center
firecracker. The twine will
be positioned over the
center firecracker and
under the two that are on
either side.
5. Turn the twine and 3
firecrackers over and
then add a new
firecracker to either end
of the group. You can see
the over-under-over
pattern being created.
Use a pair of tweezers to
make positioning your
firecrackers as easy as
possible.
6. Turn over and add two
more firecrackers.
Continue this routine
until all firecrackers have
been used.
7. When the glue is
completely dried, take the
end of the twine and wind
it over-under-over to the
opposite side of the twine
already in place. Tie the
end when you have
completed the line and
snip the loose ends.
8. Crease at obvious folds.
9. There is a small tab at
each corner of the box.
Paint glue to the red side
of each tab and glue to
the respective side. Use
the tweezers to make a
good and straight bond at
each corner.
Roman Candles
1. Cut out all pieces. Crimp
about 1/16" of the end of
each candle. This will
help you to roll the
candle.
4. Paint a little glue along
the blank inside surface of
the end piece. Finish the
roll and press to create a
bond with the glue. Hold
until you are sure the
bond will hold.
5. Center the round disk over
the top of the roll and
then glue into place.
2. Practice roll the entire
piece.
3. Unroll, and place a piece
of cut twine ply into the
crimped fold. Glue it into
place. This will be the
wick.
4. Roll the candle as tight as
possible. Paint a line of
glue to the blank surface
of the roll's end. Press
tightly against the roll
and hold until you are
sure that it won't
unwind.
5. Trim the end of the wick,
if it is sticking out the
bottom of the candle.
Repeat these steps for all
the other Roman
candles.
Rockets
1. Cut out all pieces.
2. Crimp the end of one of
the long pieces at about
1/16" inch from the end.
This will help you to roll
the piece in a tight roll.
You will repeat all these
steps for the second
rocket as well.
3. Roll the long piece into a
tight roll.
6. Take the cone top and
gauge the size required by
your rocket. It will be
glued to the top of the
round piece that is glued
to the top of the roll.
7. Once you have the correct
size, paint glue to the
portion that will be
overlapped on the cone.
Press using a pair of
tweezers for a good bond.
8. Take the red piece and
fold in half. Glue blank
sides together.
9. Paint glue to the top of the
round disk found at the
top of the roll.
10. Press the cone to the glue
that is on the round disk.
Make sure it is as
centered and tight as
possible.
11. Paint glue to the bottom
of the rocket and glue to
the center of the red
square.
12. Take a short piece of ply
from the twine, about
1/3" and glue it near the
base of the rocket to
simulate a wick.
Sparklers
1. Use the black pattern and
cut 8 lengths of wire for
sparkler handles.
2. Cut out the eight gray
sparkler heads. Use a metal
straight-edge and fold about
1/16th inch along the end of
the wider width of a
sparkler head. Repeat these
steps for all the sparklers.
3. Take one of the cut wire
pieces and glue to the inside
of your folded end. Allow
the glue to dry completely
before moving to step 4.
4. Wrap the sparkler head
tightly around wire to the
end. Repeat as necessary to
get it good and tight. If it is
bulky, cut a portion off the
end of the roll.
5. Paint glue to the blank
inner surface of the paper
end and press tightly.
6. Photo shows a completed
sparkler.
With the knowledge of assembly you have learned from the
previous pages, you should be able to accomplish assembling
the balance of ‘fireworks.’
