Mincom LinkOne Version 5 Foundation Partner License Deed Summary
As part of the development process for Mincom LinkOne Version 5 Mincom Limited is
providing a limited number of valued end customers and resellers with a restricted license
enabling early access and evaluation of Mincom LinkOne Version 5.
For the purposes of providing early access and evaluation, Mincom LinkOne Version 5 has
been engineered with a time limiting mechanism which operates to restrict the period of
evaluation to 60 days from installation. On expiration of this period each customer or reseller
is required to return Mincom LinkOne Version 5 and accompanying documentation to
Mincom Limited.
Mincom is not charging a fee for participation in the Mincom LinkOne Version 5 evaluation
and whilst there are no financial incentives offered for participation, Mincom Limited will be
working closely with all customers and resellers to evaluate and test Mincom LinkOne
Version 5 within their business environment and during this process will welcome all
comments and suggestions relating to improvements or requirements relating to the business
operated by the customer or reseller.
Due to the limited early access and evaluation nature of the license to use Mincom LinkOne
Version 5 each customer and reseller will be required to execute a Mincom LinkOne Version
5 Foundation Partner License Deed which details the terms and conditions of the License and
contains strict non disclosure and confidentiality obligations. Each customer or reseller is
specifically restrained from disclosing, publishing, demonstrating, capturing, discussing, or
presenting any aspect of Mincom LinkOne Version 5 with any party other than Mincom
Limited.
This summary is not intended to be an extensive review of the important terms of the Mincom
LinkOne Version 5 Foundation Partner License Deed, and as such Mincom Limited
recommend that each customer and reseller obtain independent legal advice on the terms of
the deed prior to execution.
Mincom Limited look forward to working with each customer and reseller during this evaluation
process.

Overview
The Mincom LinkOne team is pleased to announce the latest release of LinkOne Viewer V5.0.
This release is a major milestone for us and for our customers as we move LinkOne
progressively forward.
LinkOne WinView has been written from the ground up, using a new flexible and sustainable
framework that will provide value for our customers for years to come. LinkOne WinView also

The Notes Explorer
The notes explorer dialog allows you to view all note types that are available from your current
position in a LinkOne book. This dialog is very useful if there are a large number of notes and
you wish to find a certain note to view. Using the notes explorer dialog you can also delete
notes that are no longer required which is valuable when maintaining notes which are shared
by a large number of users.

Parts List Notes
The parts list allows you to quickly create notes that associate with an entry in the parts list via
a context menu that is accessible by right clicking on an entry in the parts list. This menu
allows you create a note or bookmark that is associated with this item.

If an entry in the parts list has a note associated with it, a small note icon will be shown in the
first column. Hovering the mouse over this icon will show a note tooltip which will display the
contents of the note. Right clicking on this entry will show the note context menu along with
any notes associated with that parts list entry. Clicking on a note in this menu will execute that
notes action (i.e. View text note, follow hyperlink note).

Bookmarks
Bookmarks allow you store your location in a book and quickly come back to it later on by
opening the bookmark from the Bookmarks dialog which can be accessed by opening the
Bookmarks menu and selecting the Bookmarks... menu option. The Bookmarks and Notes
dialogs are similar in their look, feel and behavior.
The bookmarks dialog is split into two main sections, the bookmark list which contains a
sorted list of all bookmarks, and a details pane which displays the information about the
currently selected bookmark in the list.

Editing Bookmarks
The bookmark dialog has a toolbar that is very similar and provides the same functionality as
the notes toolbar.

To create a bookmark, click on the Add Bookmark button. This will create a new bookmark
inside the bookmark list and a blank bookmark pane will be opened. Bookmarks can be
created via two ways; Direct and Via Bookmark.
Direct bookmarks are a bookmark that point to a direct location within a book, page, picture or
entry list. and select the note type you wish to create. Via Bookmark allows you to create a
new bookmark that points to an existing bookmark. This is a useful tool if a bookmark already
points to an existing location but you wish to change the location or access modifiers, or the
language that it is defined in.
Searching
LinkOne WinView provides functionality to search through books via the search dialogs. The
search dialogs are accessible from the Search menu and all use the same search dialog
which displays information according to the type of search you are performing. You can
search more than one book by clicking the Multi Book checkbox at the bottom of the screen
which will enable the Books button. Clicking the Books button will open a Select Books
dialog allowing you to choose which books will be searched.

When a search has finished the matching page titles, books (if it is a multi book search) and
match information will be displayed in the search form. Selecting a matching page title will
display all the matches found on that page in the match information list. By selecting a page,
book or match and clicking the Go To button, LinkOne WinView will jump to that position in the
book.
You can also load custom search sets that may have been published into the books by
opening the Other Searches dialog available from the Search menu.
Filtering
Filtering allows you to filter information out to help you navigate through and locate part
information quicker. To open the filter dialogs, select either Permanent Filters or Temporary
Filters from the Edit menu. A temporary filter will only affect viewing in the currently open
book. If you change books or close LinkOne WinView down, these filters will be removed.
Permanent filters are saved to your hard drive and can be applied at different positions in
LinkOne WinView.
The permanent filter dialogs will list all filters in a list on the left hand side and the currently
selected filter details in the details pane on the right. Selecting a filter will load its settings into
the dialog and allow you to update them. You can add and delete filters by using the toolbar at
the top of the dialog. The dialog also provides access and location modifiers allowing you to
customize where the filter is accessible from, and who has access to it.

The temporary filters dialog allows you to view and change filters in the current book. Any
changes made to these filers will only affect the view of the current book and the temporary
filters will be discarded when you start viewing a different book, or you close LinkOne
WinView. Selecting a filter in the filter list on the left side of the screen will load possible filter
values into the right side. Selecting or entering a value and clicking OK will set the temporary
filter value.
