This film adaptation of the beloved stage musical features
the timeless lyrics and melodies of iconic super group
ABBA.
The story revolves around Donna Sheridan, an independent hotel
owner on an idyllic Greek isle, who is preparing to host her daughter’s
wedding. The guests include not only her closest friends but three
men from her past, who her daughter has secretly invited as she
believes one of them might be her father.
The original stage production opened to
an enthusiastic audience in London on
March 23, 1999. It received the kind of
welcome it has been getting ever since,
every night, at every one of the many
productions that have since followed. But
on that early spring evening in London, it
was still a completely unknown quantity.
“We really had no idea how it was going to
be received,” reflects the producer Judy
Craymer, whose initial concept, exactly a
decade earlier, had been to use existing
ABBA songs within the format of a new,
original musical. But happily, she remembers, “The audience went wild. They were
literally out of their seats and singing and
dancing in the aisles – and they still are.
Every night.”

Norah Jones, the talented singer, songwriter and pianist, who has won over the
world with her signature style, made her
debut album “Come Away With Me” on
Blue Note Records in 2003, selling 20
million copies worldwide and garnering
eight Grammy Awards, including album of

vocal performance, and record of the year
for the bluesy single, “Don’t Know Why.”
Her second album, “Feels Like Home”,
released in 2004, topped sales charts and

Kit Kittredge is a bright, inquisitive and
generous young girl, whose happy childhood is abruptly interrupted when her

A young boy called Banku moves into a

It helped that the whole cast (including conductor Bertrand de Billy)
had youth on its side, so that there was real credibility in Puccini’s
story of down-at-heel bohemians just beginning to learn about life,
love and death. The press responded with as much enthusiasm as
the audiences. The Munich Abendzeitung reported that “Yesterday
evening was completely focussed on music. And that was so gorgeous that even the sceptics were forced to drop to their knees.”
In 1896 La Bohème did not have the most successful of first nights.
Yet within weeks of its Turin premiere (conducted by no less a figure
than Arturo Toscanini), La Bohème had traveled to Rome and Palermo. It reached London and Los Angeles in 1897, and Paris in the
following year. Since then it has conquered the world, and has always
attracted the greatest singers of the day. When the opera was new,
Dame Nellie Melba and Enrico Caruso were the Mimì and Rodolfo
who ensured its success. Nearer our own time, Maria Callas and
Giuseppe di Stefano, Renata Tebaldi and Carlo Bergonzi, Victoria de
los Angeles and Jussi Björling have all melted our hearts.
And now Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazón have joined that list of
distinguished interpreters, bringing the opera to life for 21st-century
listeners.

On Demand
We are improving our entertainment
system even more by installing video and
audio on demand. This means you can
start the movie or audio channel of your
choice, take a pause to stretch your legs
and then pick up where you left off when
you return to your seat.
If you get stuck, just touch the Help
button on the Main Menu for on-screen
assistance.
Video on demand only works in
Business and Economy Extra.
Entertainment system
For your enjoyment on board this aircraft,
SAS has provided first-class entertainment.
Using touch-screen technology, choose your own entertainment directly
on your personal video screen. Alternatively, you can use your personal
handset to navigate around the screen and make your choices.
Before take-off, the forward-looking camera and the moving map are
available on all seatback-mounted video screens. Just reach out and
touch the screen to activate it.
Once airborne, armrest-mounted screens may be used. The downward-looking camera will now be activated and the moving map channel will continually be updated to let you know where you are, how far
it is to your destination, and to display other relevant flight information
as well as video information programs relating to your flight.
To tune in to the soundtrack for a video program being displayed on
the overhead monitors, select Flight Information and press Moving
Map on your personal video screen.
Once the aircraft has reached its first cruising level, the entertainment
system is switched on. You will now have a large choice of movies,
audio entertainment and games.
The entertainment system will be closed
down 30 minutes before landing.

Airbus A330/A340 Handset
The standard controls operate the reading light, attendant call and channel
selection. The arrows and “A” button are for making selections and browsing
through the Inflight Entertainment system. The colored buttons (A, B, X, Y)
along with L and R are mainly for playing games.
