Dear Friends,
An annual summary gives an opportunity to look back to see all that
we’ve accomplished in the past year. We are grateful for YOUR support
and all that we’ve been able to achieve through our work together. Much
of that work is presented here in the facts and figures, but each number
also represents the story of a child we have served.
One such child is Ben, a kindergartner at Johnson Elementary who
exclaimed to his tutor, “Reading is better than ice cream!” Or the five
third graders, once tutored as second graders, who return daily to the
ESLC room at St. Paul Music Academy to choose a book they want to read
at home…and more importantly, receive the warm greetings of the ESLC
staff that reassures them, “You are important, we continue to care about
you.”
Think of it…daily during the past school year…over 280 St. Paul
children in K-3…each receiving one-on-one reading tutoring, having the
opportunity to feel success as a reader and becoming life-long learners…
all possible because of YOU. Through your investment ESLC provides a
simple opportunity for everyone to play a part in the success of these children so the impact can reverberate over the entire St. Paul community for
today and into the future.
As we begin our 15th year of “unlocking each child’s potential
through the foundation of reading” in St. Paul we thank you for your
support—for letting us count on you, so more and more children can
count on us.
