General Notes & Conditions

As part of the Advertising Purchase Order Terms and Conditions, the ADVERTISER assumes
responsibility to deliver all materials necessary for the broadcast and / or publication of advertising,
such as videos and other print art forms to DIRECTV in due time, as specified in both the Terms and
Conditions Agreement and this document.
DIRECTV will evaluate the quality of the materials provided and determine if it meets a minimum
quality standard for broadcasting, printing or web publication. If commercial material does not
conform to standards, client has 12 hours to submit revised material and maintain time-to-air.
DIRECTV will not substantially edit materials received
All materials must be identified with:
o Customer Name
o Material Name
o Material Version
o Duration
o Local or Panregional (disclaimer needed)
o All graphics pieces to be transmitted from Venezuela require RIF number

Any material that applies only to local advertising should include a disclaimer: “Advertising valid for
(country)”. DIRECTV may add the disclaimer if not included, but the time-to-air can be affected by
two days if this change is needed.

Material Delivery Method & Deadline
All commercial materials should be uploaded to the DIRECTV Online Media Center at least 96 hours prior
to airtime for videos, 10 days for Web1 and on-air Secondary Elements, 25 days for Magazine.

“Standard Definition” commercial material format must comply with 6:9 format - 9 panoramic, inclusive of all
text included within the 4:3 protection area.

Golf Channel materials may be in a 16:9 ratio, but the image content should fit within a 4:3 area to allow proper
visibility when the channel is distributed by SD cable operators.
All materials for channels OnDIRECTV and Food Network must be delivered in High Definition
Secondary Element Specifications
DIRECTV offers the following types of secondary elements (non standard video spots) opportunities:

A Sponsorship Billboard is used to open and close (presentación y despedida) a particular
program and/or event. The Sponsorship billboard will open with “This program is brought to you by”
followed by the Advertiser Logo a Slogan. The duration of a Sponsorship Billboard will range
between three (3) to five (5) seconds in length.
Tune-In Promo Sponsorship is used to invite audience to “tune-in” into a particular program
and/or event. The Advertiser Logo a Slogan will be utilized within the content of the promotional
material. The duration of Tune-In Promo Sponsorship will consist of (5) seconds.
Lower Third Sponsorship is used when advertiser logo and slogan (voiceover and text) are
inserted on the “Lower Third” portion of a program screen reserved for textual and static visual
content.
Sport Event Countdown Clock Sponsorship production inserts Advertiser Logo in a portion of
a program screen reserved for textual and static visual content.
Product Mentions/Interaction and/or Product Placement are divided into three (3)
categories. These offerings vary and are dependent of AdSales negotiation per prior approval.
a. Category 1 – Duration: 20 seconds – Text, Product Description.
b. Category 2 – Duration: 20 seconds – Text, Product Description inclusive of Product
Placement On-Set.
c. Category 3 – Duration: 20 seconds – Text, Host interacting with product in program/event.

variety of sponsorship packages.
