A long-standing vision, with no end in sight.
In 1972, a cooperation agreement between Daimler-Benz and Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Graz, Austria
marked the start of a vision to create a robust, customizable off-road vehicle. The Mercedes-Benz
G-Class remains a striking feat of style, engineering and luxury. Today, the G-Class is revered for
its extreme ability to conquer its own path both on and off the road.

The dawn of a new driving force.
Before being assembled and tested, the G-Class began as an idea. Partners Daimler-Benz and
Steyr-Daimler-Puch shared a passion for performance, aesthetics and luxury — a passion for remarkable
engineering. After exhaustive deliberations surrounding a variety of concepts, the partners agreed on
creating a vehicle far different from the other all-wheel drive vehicles of the time. Since its inception,
Mercedes-Benz has not departed from the original spirit that made the G-Class what it is.

Only the best will do.
Taking into consideration the conditions in which the G-Model was
designed to be driven, there was no room for cutting corners.
Three fully locking differentials offer outstanding traction, while the
ladder-type chassis provides exceptional structural integrity.

Timelessly sharp on and off the road.
The G-Class embodies the cross-country spirit in all dimensions. The frame
features strong, straight lines, finely balanced proportions and square-cut
wings. This design allows for a clear view of surface conditions, supporting
extremely precise driving. The lines of the body have hardly changed since
the first 1:1 wooden model was created in 1973, and has since remained
a striking form that epitomizes the vehicle’s strong and distinctive character.

Practice made perfect.
Even at the earliest stages of development, the G-Class was tested to perform in the
toughest possible conditions. Test tracks were selected in different areas of the globe
to force the G-Class to demonstrate its full range of capabilities. The cross-country
vehicle faced boulders and sand, water and mud, steep inclines and treacherous declines
in a coalfield between Cologne and Aachen. It faced corrosion tests in the salt lakes of
the Sahara desert and the cold tundra beyond the Arctic Circle. Only after proving itself in
these conditions was it deemed fit to be branded with the Mercedes-Benz star.

Engineered to disregard limits.
The outstanding qualities of the G-Class have confirmed it as the top cross-country automobile
in competitions and publications alike. Its numerous wins in German championships and
European trials as well as countless “off-roader of the year” titles in various motor publications
only serve to prove that the G-Class truly stands above any other in its category.

A single word can speak more eloquently than an entire manuscript. It projects pictures onto the
retina of the mind’s eye and sends emotions coursing straight to the heart. “Gelandewagen” (the
official German designation of the G-Class, which translates as “cross-country vehicle”) is one such
word. More than “off-roader” or “SUV”, it conjures up images of loading supplies for an expedition,
of poring over large-scale maps, of anticipation and excitement before the start, and of the sense
of being part of a great adventure. It is the invitation to plough through desert sands and the sense
of achievement on reaching places you had only ever dreamed of. It evokes the sound of the scree
dislodged by the vehicle’s progress, the swish of the tires on endless sand tracks, the smell of
rare drops of rain on parched grassland… This inner film has countless plots, but always the same
protagonist. Its name may not have found its way into the dictionary yet, but it has long occupied a
unique place in the hearts of those who drive it: the G-Class.

Performance for the eyes.
Having mechanically proven itself in the most extreme conditions, the G-Class is also designed to
exude power without ever turning a wheel. Every exterior detail not only serves the viewer, but also
serves a purpose. The robust front bumper and grille won’t flinch while facing the toughest
environment, while the integrated oval fog lamps1 illuminate the challenges the G-Class lives for.
The stainless steel spare wheel cover accented with 3D star keeps the rear as sharp as the front.

Form and function, on equal footing.
Even the most beautiful features are functional. The LED daytime running lamps situated under
the headlights will undeniably make you noticed. The sports exhaust system with twin stainless
steel tailpipes on both sides makes a strong impact both visually and in performance.

Bold beyond the basics.
The G-Class also features exterior design elements that both look and
perform well in and outside the city. The new 18" wheel design is assertively
rugged yet refined, while the new power folding exterior mirrors with Blind
Spot Assist make sure you notice everything while being noticed.

With as much as 810 metres of thread coursing through 45,985 stitches, the G-Class was built
on genuine strength down to its very soul, while maximizing the level of comfort for the driver
and passengers. And without a single stitch ever more than a millimeter out of place, the G-Class
features a precision interior for the most precise driving experience.
Get the best view.
No matter where you find yourself, you’ll have the best seat in the house. The G-Class features
a new instrument panel with colour display and leather covered dashboard with integrated 7-inch
COMAND display so the view is always beautiful.

Always be in control.
The G-Class is driving dominance. A gear selector lever keeps you in
control at all times, while the centre console with climate controls
keeps precise comfort options all within reach from the driver’s seat.
Convenient climate controls are complemented with fine interior trim detailing.
The three electrically engageable fully lockable differential locks play a key role in the off-road capability of the G-Class.

with 382 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque, is beyond powerful to take you beyond all boundaries.

As good as it looks, it performs even better. The ladder-type frame consisting of
sheet-steel used in the G-Class is not only more robust, but more forgiving for
off-road use. It is the same construction type used since the very first G-Model
was produced, and for good reason — the structure allows for the best possible
handling on the most demanding terrain.

The high ground clearance and long spring travel in the chassis of the G-Class enables it
to drive at greater maximum angles than any other off-roader in its class.
Stop for no one.
While compromising neither style nor performance, the G-Class is based on a chassis designed to cope with
the most demanding off-road terrain. With a slope-climbing ability of up to 80% and retaining its driving stability
at inclined angles up to 54%, the G-Class will always be on top. Also featuring ground clearance of 21 cm,
a maximum fording depth of 60 cm, and angles of approach and departure of 36° and 27° respectively, the
G-Class will thrive in any environment.

Top-notch performance turned up.
The G 63 AMG includes aesthetic and performance upgrades to keep even the most demanding drivers satisfied.
Up front are the AMG grille with two chrome lamellas and AMG specific front air intakes integrated into the bumper.
Around the sides are newly designed 20" AMG wheels and front and rear wheel arch flares. It can also reach
100km/h in as little as 5.4 seconds, utilizing the all-new AMG 5.5L Bi-turbo engine, fitted with direct-injection and
turbo-charging to make it one of the world’s most powerful standard-fit V8 Bi-turbo engines.

Strength meets spectacle.
Continuing along the sides are the stainless steel running boards, red
painted brake calipers, and AMG sports exhaust system with twin chrome
tailpipes on both sides. AMG and ‘V8 BITURBO’ badges located above
the front fenders also highlight the performance upgrades featured in
the G 63 AMG.

Safe when your surroundings aren’t.
Never feel threatened with Blind Spot Assist, Front and Rear PARKTRONIC, rear view
camera, DISTRONIC PLUS, heated front windshield, differential locks, and a tire pressure
monitor system. The G-Class is also equipped with airbags for the driver and front
passenger which respond adaptively in the event of an accident, deploying in one or two
stages depending on the predicted characteristics of the accident.

A declaration of supremacy.
A particularly alluring training event takes place from January to April each year in
Arjeplog, Sweden, close to the Arctic Circle: the AMG Winter Sporting ADVANCED and
PRO event. Participants drive the AMG high-performance cars provided exclusively
at a closed-off ice-covered site, generally with the 3-stage ESP® Electronic Stability
Program disabled, and outfitted with special spike tires which ensure a precisely defined
level of traction. Specially developed programs on scaled-down versions of international
race circuits guarantee an optimum combination of training success and driving pleasure.

Stealing the show.
As a tribute to the 65th anniversary of the Palme d'Or, the golden Mercedes-Benz G-Class was driven through
Cannes offering VIP guests of the film festival an outstanding shuttle service. The gold-wrapped shuttle ensured
attendees made a spectacular entrance when they arrived on the red carpet.

Mercedes-Benz Roadside Assistance is at your service 24/7 every day to anyone driving
a Mercedes-Benz in Canada or the continental U.S.1 We’ll bring you fuel, replace a flat tire
with your spare, or jumpstart your car. When needed, a towing service will be provided
to the nearest Mercedes-Benz dealership.
TRIP INTERRUPTION REIMBURSEMENT.
If a breakdown covered by your New Vehicle Limited Warranty or optional Extended Limited
Warranty occurs more than 80 km from your home – leaving your vehicle inoperable or
unsafe to drive with required overnight repairs – you’ll be reimbursed up to $500 for hotel
accommodations and up to $600 for alternative travel expenses per incident, while your car
is repaired at an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership.
WEAR AND TEAR PERIOD.
Brake pads, brake discs, brake pad wear sensors and light bulbs are all covered for wear
and tear during the first 24 months or 40,000 km, whichever comes first.
