She has played various instruments with different bands over the years, most notably her bass work with the band White Zombie. Her father, Michael S. Reynolds, was a noted biographer of Ernest Hemingway. She married Supegroup musician Chris Lee on January 12, 2008, in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she lives. She once owned and ran a dive bar popular among ar_sts and musicians, The Saint, in New Orleans Garden District. Yseult played bass in White Zombie for 11 years before they disbanded in 1998. A`er the breakup of White Zombie in September 1998, Yseult started playing bass for the band Rock City Morgue. She formed the Famous Monsters in 1995. She plays bass in the band, Star & Dagger, which recorded an album at a studio in Joshua Tree, which was released in 2012. On November 1, 2010, Yseult released I’m in the Band, a book containing tour diaries and photos as well as detailing her eleven years spent as a member of White Zombie. When Rock N Roll Experience Magazine asked Yseult in 2011 why she was not involved in the White Zombie Box set her reply was, "It was a ligle bit of a fuck you to me & J. which was kinda weird since we were 2/3rd's of the band." references www.wikipedia.com www.seanyseult.com Photo courtesy of elpatas.net BASS THE BOTTOM LINE MARCH 2013 COME AND FEEL MY BOTTOM =8-‐) =8-‐) PAGE THREE ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: SEAN YSEULT con_nued Before her days as a bassist, Yseult agended North Carolina School of the Arts, for high shcool, where she studied ballet and piano (Yseult studied both of these fields intensely from age 6 to 17). It was there that she first met Rob Zombie a`er he had a friend ask her out for him in the school's cafeteria. Sean’s band Star & Dagger released their first full album July 23rd 2012 through Megaforce Records. It is available on CD, a limited edi_on of blue vinyl, and of course on iTunes etc. Recently, Yseult has begun a design line featuring hand drawn graphics with bold colors. She has also recently joined ar_st Louis St. Lewis in forming the collabora_ve art duo of Lewis & Yseult and their mixed media pieces have been well received by cri_cs. Recent shows include exhibi_ons in New Orleans, North Carolina and Paris as well as CBGB's 315 gallery in NYC to benefit the ailing nightclub. The band was formed with auspicious beginnings: Sean and Donna were drinking late one night with the legendary Lenny Kaye and he declared: “You two must start a band, I see it!” They took his word and set to it. Layering dense guitars onto a heavy groove, strung together by Von’s towering vocals, which enshrines the spirit of Cherie Currie, Anita Pallenberg and Rob Halford all at once. The band has recently agracted much agen_on, selling out their first show in LA as well as opening for High on Fire, Helmet, Eagles of Death Metal, Down and Saint Vitus. In the mean_me, watch their first video, Your Mama Was a Gri`er, a scandalous bit of art trash filmed in glorious black and white by master director Art Haynie. Inspired by old chain gang songs, the video makes reference to many a film – Night of the Hunter, Cleopatra, and even the old Batman TV series – but is essen_ally a tongue in cheek homage to Russ Meyer’s Faster Pussycat! As Geezer and Black Sabbath moved from studio to touring in 2013 the final component of gesng the classic Geezer tone was in play, the rigors of a world tour. To recapture Geezer's early Black Sabbath tone, it meant a new EMG vintage style passive P & PJ design with a few modern touches. The all solderless P set uses Alnico 5 pole pieces and custom wound coils for just the right amount of punch and grit. The J (PJ set) also uses Alnico 5 poles and features two custom wound split-‐ coils that both eliminate the noise and hum usually associated with early 70's bass pickups and allow for more power and volume than any other standard single coil J giving this set remarkable balance between the P & J. Said Geezer, "I never felt comfortable giving my name to any other pickups, but this Lme these have blown me away." GZR-‐P Set and GZR-‐PJ Set will be available in March 2014. The OB1-‐K splits the signal into two separate paths. One side produces a _ght, clean bass sound with thunderous low end. The second side features two stages of controllable gain rich in upper harmonics. These two components can then be combined using the amplifier's foot switchable blend control giving the player a wealth of op_ons that range from a crystal clear clean boost to all-‐out filthy bass mayhem! The result is a truly brutal bass tone, which s_ll maintains the all-‐important low end. This enables the bass to cut through the mix in any situa_on. The OB1-‐K features a fully responsive, ac_ve three-‐band EQ. This provides the bassist full control whilst keeping the classic Orange 'Pics Only' design. The OB1-‐K also features a DI with ground lig.
