On the third day we went to town to see the historical church, St Mary’s by the Sea, and watched the beautiful sunset whilst my granddaughter had a marvellous time at the nearby playground. On the fourth day, we returned to the Wildlife Habitat, as my granddaughter loved it so much, and enjoyed interacting with the koalas, baby crocodiles and birds. Description: Medium grade. Stay: Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific Torquay. T o experience the spectacular beauty of the Great Ocean Road and its surrounds, the Surf Coast walk offers much to see and do. It is a 30-kilometre long marked trail, which can be completed in sections. It begins at Deep Creek Reserve on the Esplanade, which is right opposite Wyndham Torquay. The walk takes in spectacular coastal views, fabulous children’s playgrounds and public art. In its entirety the walk passes through Bells Beach, Point Addis, Anglesea, Aireys Inlet, Fairhaven and Torquay. A complete guide is available from the Torquay Visitor Information Centre or visit: www.visitgreatoceanroad.org.au/surfcoastwalk Bring: Comfy shoes, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, camera and warm clothes in the cooler months. 2 The Overland Track, Tasmania Time: 5 -8 DAYS / or sections thereof. Distance: 64 kilometres, plus many side trips. Description: Medium grade. Camping gear is required for overnight walks. Stay: Camp at Lake St Clair National Park, or for day walks stay at Cradle Mountain Lodge. Stay at Wyndham vacation resorts Asia Pacific seven mile beach while in hobart. T he Overland Track is internationally renowned as one of Australia’s most iconic bush walks, situated in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. The 64-kilometre, six-day trek takes walkers right to the heart of one of Tasmania’s World Heritage areas. The walk starts at Ronny Creek in Cradle Valley. Over the next six days, hikers journey through a landscape of ancient rainforests, verdant valleys carved by glaciers, fragrant eucalypt forest, buttongrass moorlands and beautiful alpine meadows. The walk concludes at Australia’s deepest lake, Lake St Clair. Six days is the average time taken to walk the track, but walkers can choose to create their own pace, depending on how many rest days or side-trips they wish to enjoy. For those who do not wish to undertake the full walk, a number of shorter treks ranging from 20 minutes to several hours to overnight are available from Lake St Clair and Cradle Mountain. Stay at Wyndham Seven Mile Beach in Hobart for some creature comforts on either side of your journey. Bring: To walk the full 64 kilometres you will need to carry a week’s worth of food, cooking equipment and camping gear on your back. There is an option to sleep in huts but they do get booked out rather quickly and walkers should still carry a tent in case of emergency. Description: Medium grade. Stay: wyndham vacation resorts Asia pacific sydney. T O TRULY EXPERIENCE the beauty of Sydney, the cliff top coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee is an absolute must-do. The spectacular walk extends for six kilometres in Sydney’s eastern suburbs and features stunning views of some of Sydney’s best beaches, parks, cliffs, bays and rock pools. The Bondi to Coogee coastal walk is a medium grade walk but there are some steep gradient paths and several staircases along the track. There are plenty of beaches and parks to stop and have a picnic along the way or you could simply stop at one of the many coastal cafés. A boardwalk takes you past Waverley Cemetery, one of the most scenic burial grounds on the planet. Bring: Comfy shoes, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, 4 water, camera, and in colder weather something to keep you warm. Rob Roy Track, Wanaka NZ Time: 3-4 hours return. Distance: 10 kilometres.
