TEE-BALL BASEBALL and TEE-BALL SOFTBALL - (April – June)
Tee-Ball Baseball (kindergarten & 1st grade boys) and Tee-Ball Softball (kindergarten & 1st grade girls). Players will be
instructed on hitting, base running, fielding, and the basic rules of the game. Instruction and practice games will be held e very
Saturday at Taylor Park Fields. Mail-In and On-line Registration is through March 6th. Registration Fee is $75.00
GIRLS’ SOFTBALL - (April – June)
2nd through 8th graders. In-town leagues for 2nd-8th graders and Travel Team for 6th-8th graders. 2nd-3rd grade league practices
weeknights and play games on Saturdays at Glenwood School. 4th-5th grade league practices weeknights and play games
weeknights and Saturdays at Glenwood School Fields. 6th-8th grade league practices weeknights and play games weeknights
at Glenwood School Fields and in Caldwell, as league is intra-town. Practices for all teams are various weeknight evenings
April through June at Glenwood, South Mountain, Slayton and Taylor Park Fields. 6th– 8th grade travel team home games are
played on various weeknights and Saturdays at High School or Taylor Park, while away games are at towns in Essex County;
practices vary weeknights/weekends from the end of March through June. Mail-In and On-line Registration is through March
5th. Registration Fee is $75.00 for in-town programs and an additional $40.00 for the travel team.
SMARTYCAT KIDS SCIENCE EXPLORATION WORKSHOPS - (April - June)
For children ages 5-10 at Gero Park Rec. Ctr. afternoons mid April through June from 4:00pm-6:30pm. Children complete science experiments; learn
about creating chemical reactions, designing and building structures, studying nature, tinkering with technology, and many more fun, brain-building
activities. April-June session is 10-session program; cost is $155.00-$175.00. Parents can register their children at www.SmartyCatKids.com
TRACK & FIELD - (April – June)
Track & Field is a developmental program for 4th-8th grade boys and girls. Track for 4th – 8th
graders includes competitive dual meets with neighboring towns. Practices are held two days
per week at the Millburn High School Track or Taylor Park. Track for 4 th graders includes
instructional training and dual meets in-town. Practices are held one or two days per week at
High School Track or Taylor Park. Mail-In and On-line Registration are through March 6th.
Registration Fee is $75.00
VOLLEYBALL CLINIC - (April - May) For current 5th – 8th grade boys and girls, Thursday nights in April and May at Millburn High School Gym.
Volleyball skill development emphasized. Online/mail-in registration through March 25th. Registration Fee is $75.00.
INTRAMURAL CO-ED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE - (April - May) For current 9th – 12th graders. High school intramural
volleyball league played at Millburn High School on Tuesday nights, April and May. Team Registration will take place at league
meeting on April 7th at 3:00pm at Millburn High School. Registration Fee is $30.00 per player.
SPRING YOUTH TENNIS LESSONS & TENNIS TEAM - (April - June) Group lessons available (ages 3-14) ; weekday
afternoons at Slayton Field Courts. Tennis Team (ages 8-14). Call the US Sports Institute at (908) 534-5305 for information or go

SWIM TEAM - (June - July)
Pool members ages 6 – 18. Practices are in the mornings, Monday – Friday. Daily morning practices and two swim meets
per week, which start in the early evening. Registration Fee is $75.00. Mail-In and On-line Registration. No registrations
will be accepted at the pool.
SUMMER TENNIS LESSONS - (June - July)
Group, semi-private, private lessons; summer days/nights at Millburn High School Courts.

MULTI-SPORTS CAMPS - (August) for 3-4 year olds and for 5-14 year olds, August 8th -12th and August 15th -19th at

PRE-SCHOOL MINI-DAY CAMP at Taylor Park Nursery School & South Mountain School - (June-August)
These camps are for children 4 or 5 years old who were born October 2, 2010 through October 1, 2012. Child must be potty
trained. Session choices/locations are: at Taylor Park, Monday through Thursday (4 days per week) from June 27th -July 14th
and July 18th – August 5th and South Mountain, Monday through Friday (5 days per week) from June 27th – July 15th and
July 18th – August 6th. Both locations are from 9:00am-12:00 noon. On-Line registration (first come first serve) begins on

Registration is limited. Registration Deadline is May 27th or until camp capacity is reached. Please read registration form

This camp is for children 6 to 10 years old who were born October 2, 2006 through October 1, 2010. Registration is on-line,
by mail and in-person at the Millburn Recreation Department. Sessions are: Monday through Friday, from June 27th - July 15th,
and July 18th - August 6th, mornings from 9:00am-12:00 noon and all day from 9:00am-3:30pm. Registration Deadline is May 27th
or until camp capacity is reached. First time camp registrants must submit a copy of birth certificate and immunization records to
the Recreation Office after registering for the program.
T.G.I.S. SUMMER CAMP at Gero Park Recreation Center - (June- August)
This camp is for children 10 to 14 years old who were born October 2, 2002 through October 1, 2006. Registration is
on-line, by mail and in-person at the Millburn Recreation Department. Sessions are: Monday through Friday, from
June 27th - July 15th, and July 18th - August 6th, from 9:00am-1:00pm, plus 3 all-day trips per session (approx. 9:00am-3:00pm)
Registration Deadline is May 27th or until camp capacity is reached. First time camp registrants must submit a copy of birth
certificate and immunization records to the Recreation Office after registering for program.

EGG HUNT - (March)
Pre-school through 2nd grade on Saturday, March 19th at Taylor Park, 10:00am (rain or shine).
Program is free to Township residents.
FISHING DERBY - (May)
Youth age 15 and under, residents only, to be held on Saturday, May 7th, 9:00am -12:00pm at Taylor Park. Register at the event between 8:00am - 8:45am.
Fishing derby is free to Township residents. Children must bring their own fishing pole/bait. Prizes are awarded in different categories for catches.
NEW YORK YANKEES BASEBALL GAME BUS TRIP - (June) – Yankees vs. Texas Rangers on Friday, June 27th at 7:05 pm
(bus leaves from Gero Park at 3:30pm). Trip is open to all ages; Millburn Township Residents only. Children age 10 & under must be
accompanied by an adult. Chaperones provided for children 11 years old or older by Millburn Recreation Dept. Staff. Trip is co- sponsored
by Millburn Recreation and the Millburn Firefighter’s Welfare Association. Cost of the trip is $50.00, which includes game ticket and coach bus
transportation. Ticket sale begins May 1st. Tickets must be purchased in person at Millburn Recreation Dept. – Town Hall.
FOUR MILE RACE and YOUTH RACES - (June)
4 Mile Race will take place on Sunday, June 5th, starting at 9:00am . Elementary school (3rd-5th grade), middle (6th-8th grade),
high school (9th-12th grade) through adults categories for 4 Mile Race. Ages 4 – 11 can participate in a short Youth Race.
4 Mile Race starts and finishes at Gero Park (corner of Parsonage Hill & White Oak Ridge Roads). 4 Mile Race course is through scenic
Short Hills. 4 Miler Pre-race registration fee is $16.00. On-line and mail-in Registration Deadline is through June 2nd. Day of
Race (June 5th) on-site registration is $20.00. No registration required for youth race.
SUMMER CONCERT SERIES IN TAYLOR PARK - (June - August) Free evening of concerts held at beautiful
Taylor Park in downtown Millburn off Millburn Avenue and Main Street. All concerts begin at 7:00pm and end at 8:30pm.
Concert bands/dates/times are: Sunday, June 26th – 7:00pm (British Invasion Tribute – Songs of the Beatles, Stones and more),
Sunday, July 10th – 7:00pm (Bazooka Hoe and the Bubblegum Machine- Rock & Roll Dance), Sunday, July 24th – 7:00pm
(Soul Grove – R & B/Motown and Pop Hits), Sunday, August 7th - 7:00 pm (Street Hassle – Premier Classic Rock & Roll).
Rain dates TBA for concerts on June 26th & July 10th. Rain dates are the following Sunday for July 24 th & August 7th concerts.
GUYS & DOLLS and YOUTH – GOLF TOURNAMENT – SUMMER (June)
This Intergenerational Tournament is scheduled for Monday, June 27th (rain date July 11th) at Millburn Par-3 Golf Course,
Gero Park, Short Hills. Tournament is open to all Millburn Township residents ages 10 – 17 and members of the Millburn
Old Guard Senior Group and Millburn Ladies Golf League. Lowest score tournament, hole in one & closest to the pin
contests. Tournament registration is free. On-line and mail-in Registration Deadline is through June 20th.
SPRING – SUMMER ADULT and SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS
OPEN GYM BASKETBALL (Weeknight) – SPRING - (April - May) Adults on Wednesday evenings from 8:00-9:30pm at the
Millburn HS Main Gym beginning April 6th through May 18th (no program on April 13th). The program is for Township residents only,
and the fee for the 6 week program is $17.00. Online/mail-in registration.
MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SLOW-PITCH SOFTBALL LEAGUES - (May – July) Adults 18 and over. Leagues plays Monday through
Thursday, at fields in Millburn. Separate Men’s and Women’s Leagues. Team registration Fee is $100.00. Entire team is necessary for
registration; deadline is April 22nd.
WOMEN’S GOLF LEAGUE - Open to Par 3 members, must have knowledge of game and rules and there is a $25.00 registration fee. Get Acquainted
Breakfast on April 21st at 9:00 am at the Par 3. The league plays on Thursdays at 9:00am beginning April 28th. Call the Par 3 Golf Course at
(973) 379-4156 after April 1st for further information.
CAMERA CLUB - meets the fourth Monday of each month at 7:30pm at the Bauer Comm. Ctr., Taylor Park. Club is open to the public.
SENIOR CITIZEN BUS SERVICE – bus service is free to residents 62 and over who may call for free transportation within Millburn Township Monday - Friday. Call (973) 564-7076
from 7:00am – 8:15am one day prior to trip.
SENIORS – FRIDAY FRIENDS SOCIAL CLUB – Meetings on Fridays, 11:30am - 2:00pm, at the Bauer Community Center, Taylor Park, Millburn and scheduled special events (January-June &
September-December). Call the Senior Citizen Office @ 973-564-7091 for information.
SENIORS – OLD GUARD SOCIAL CLUB - general meeting/programs on Thursdays, 10:30am–1:00pm at the Bauer Community Center, Taylor Park and scheduled special events
throughout the year (note that club does not meet in July or August). GOLF – Tuesdays, 9:00am and Thursdays, 1:00pm at the Millburn Par –3 Golf Course, Gero Park. Potential candidates

SENIOR EXERCISE CLASSES PROJECT HEALTHY BONES – an osteoporosis exercise and education program held at the Bauer Community Center on Mondays and Fridays from 10:00am to
11:15am. There is no fee for this program. TAI CHI – (an ancient Chinese exercise movement) – Tuesdays and Thursday s from 10:30-11:20am at the Bauer Community Center, Taylor Park - a 6-week
exercise program suitable for most people will resume in the fall. Registration required. Fee: $25.00 per person. CHAIR YOGA – a six (6) week exercise program offering easy to do poses and breath
sequences. No prior knowledge of yoga is necessary. Classes are Wednesdays from 11:00 – 12 noon. Fee is $32.00 for the six (6) week session (program runs fall through spring). Contact the Senior Citizen

SENIORS – CREATIVITY BLOOMS CRAFT PROGRAM – Recycles and re-claimed objects - transforming them and giving them new life! Meets the 1 st and 3rd Wednesday of each
month from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at the Bauer Community Center, Taylor Park. There is no fee for this program. New craft projects created at each session. Stop by when you can.
SENIORS – A STITCH IN TIME – A knitting class for very beginners. Meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 10:00am -11:30am at the Bauer Community Center, Taylor Park. Call the
Senior Citizen Office @ 973-564-7091 to reserve your spot as class size is limited. Onetime fee of $8.00 for your starter kit.
SENIORS – CANASTA GROUP – A casual social gathering to play the Canasta card game. Meets Mondays 11:30am-1:30pm at the Bauer Community Center, Taylor Park. No program fee.

PAR-3 GOLF COURSE - (April – November)

Nine hole par-3 golf course located in Gero Park on White Oak Ridge Road in Short Hills. Golf course measures 1,185 yards.
Holes range in distance from 90 yards to 175 yards. Memberships for Millburn Township residents categories are: 8 years old
through adults. Course is open April 1st through November (weather permitting), seven days a week (Tuesday through Sunday)
8:00am – 8:00pm, (Mondays) 12:00pm – 8:00pm. Membership applications and on-line registration information are available on
the Recreation Department website http://www.twp.millburn.nj.us/169/Recreation Employed in-town (Millburn/Short Hills)
and a limited # of out of town memberships are available.
GOLF LESSONS – Group/private lessons for youth and adults available at the Par 3 Golf Course in Gero Park from Golf Pro,

SWIMMING POOL - (Memorial Day – Labor Day)

Township Residents Only. Pool is located in Gero Park on White Oak Ridge Road in Short Hills.
Season is Saturday, May 28th through September 5th (Labor Day). Open on weekends only from May 28th through June 19th.
Open June 21st - 23rd from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. The seven day per week schedule begins on Friday, June 24th.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 12:00noon to 8:00pm, Saturday and Sunday, 11:00am to 7:00pm. Various types of memberships
available: Family, Individual, Senior Citizen (62+), Associate, Child Care. Application must be received by May 1 st to
receive free guest passes. Applications are mailed to all residents. Applications and Online registration information is

GROUP SWIM LESSONS
- (Cycle I is June 27th - July 14th and Cycle II is July 18th – August 4th). Pool membership is not required.
Millburn Township residents only. Students taking lessons, must be 5 years old by the first date of the session (except for the mommy and me class).
Swim lessons take place Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 11:00am, (30 minutes sessions). In-person registration only on Saturday, June 4th
from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, at the Millburn Pool. Registration is limited; first come, first serve. Registration fee is $ 20.00. If openings are available, a
second registration will be held at the pool on June 11th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm.
TENNIS - (March – November) Tennis Courts are located at Gero Park, Short Hills (lighted) on White Oak Ridge Road
in Short Hills, Taylor Park off Main Street in Millburn, Slayton Field off Glen Avenue, Millburn. Courts are open for play
March (weather permitting) through November. Membership badges for play at courts are required beginning April 1st .
Applications and On-line registration information for membership are available on the Recreation Department website at
http://www.twp.millburn.nj.us/169/Recreation Tennis membership badge holders may make court reservations one day
in advance for play beginning Memorial Day through Labor Day; by calling (973) 564-7097 between 8:30am and 12:00noon
(reserve on Friday for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). Courts may be reserved for weekday or weekend play.
