Establishing national and international eminence for chamber music
The Chamber Music Society
of Lincoln Center
The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center is America’s foremost repertory company for
chamber music. Under the artistic direction of cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han, CMS
presents an extraordinary roster of world-class artists in its signature series at Alice Tully Hall,
in the more intimate Daniel and Joanna S. Rose Studio, and in concerts around the globe,
drawing more listeners to chamber music than any other organization of its kind.
Beyond the concert hall, the Chamber Music Society offers a rich variety of activities to
inform, to educate, and to draw new audiences to chamber music. Through far-reaching
educational programs, live, recorded, web-streamed, and televised performances, extensive
commissioning, radio broadcasts, new music series, and young artist programs, CMS actively
promotes a love and appreciation for a body of music that is among the finest achievements of
our civilization.
Enhancing the awareness, accessibility, and understanding of film
Film Society of Lincoln Center
Founded in 1969, the Film Society of Lincoln Center celebrates American and
international cinema, recognizes and supports new filmmakers, and enhances
awareness, accessibility and understanding of the art form among a broad
and diverse audience. As an independent constituent of the world’s foremost
performing arts center, the Film Society of Lincoln Center presents year-round
programming that premieres new films from an international roster of established
and emerging directors, and is best known for its two world-class film festivals:
the New York Film Festival and New Directors/New Films. The Film Society
operates two year-round cinemas (the Walter Reade Theater and the Elinor
Bunin Munroe Film Center); publishes Film Comment, the country’s most
respected cinematic journal; and, each year, honors an individual whose work
has left an indelible mark on the history of cinema at its Chaplin Award Gala.
Entertaining, enriching and expanding a global community for jazz through
performance, education and advocacy.
Jazz at Lincoln Center
With the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and a comprehensive array of
guest artists, Jazz at Lincoln Center advances a unique vision for the continued development
of the art of jazz by producing a year-round schedule of performance, education and
broadcast events for audiences of all ages. These productions include concerts, national
and international tours, residencies, a jazz hall of fame and concert series, weekly national
radio programs, recordings, publications, an annual high school jazz band competition
and festival, a band director academy, jazz appreciation curriculum for students, music
publishing, children’s concerts and classes, lectures, adult education courses, student and
educator workshops and interactive websites. Under the leadership of Managing and Artistic
Director Wynton Marsalis, Jazz at Lincoln Center impacts millions of lives annually through
the transformative spirit of America’s music.
Making an indelible impact on the quality of the performing arts
The Juilliard School
The Juilliard School is the only private conservatory in the country to offer study in the
three performing arts disciplines of music, dance, and drama. With more than 100 years of
educational and artistic excellence, Juilliard continues to make an indelible impact on the
quality of the performing arts in America and the world. From Kevin Kline to Laura Linney,
Yo-Yo Ma to Renée Fleming, Paul Taylor to William Forsythe, Juilliard alumni are among the
leading luminaries in the performing arts today.
Juilliard is also a major contributor to the cultural life of New York City, offering nearly
700 performances at Lincoln Center each year. In 1999, for its unparalleled standard of
excellence in arts education, Juilliard was awarded the National Medal of Arts, the U.S.
government’s highest honor for the arts.
Showcasing exceptional theatrical performances in a variety of genres
Lincoln Center Theater
Now in its 31st year, Lincoln Center Theater has earned praise
from countless quarters for its exemplary productions, and
has been named as “the pre-eminent theater in the country”
by The New York Times.
Since the Theater’s re-establishment in 1985, LCT has received a
total of 76 Tony Awards —for the magnificent epic, War Horse, for
Tom Stoppard’s trilogy The Coast of Utopia, for acclaimed revivals
of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific and The King and
I and August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, as well
as for many other memorable productions throughout the
Theater’s history. LCT plays, musicals, and revivals have
been seen by millions of theater-goers at the Vivian
Beaumont Theater, the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater,
at Broadway and Off-Broadway theaters, and on
national tour.
The Claire Tow Theater opened in the late
spring of 2012 as the home of the LCT3
program for works by new artists for new
audiences. In addition to producing
plays and musicals, Lincoln Center
Theater sponsors educational and
engagement programs for students
in public schools throughout New
York City.
Providing a vibrant home for the most creative and talented opera artists
The Metropolitan Opera
The Metropolitan Opera is a vibrant home for the most creative
and talented artists working in opera, including conductors,
composers, musicians, directors, designers, choreographers
—and, of course, the world’s greatest singers.
Known as a venue for great voices for more than 130 years,
the Met has embarked on an ambitious program to increase
significantly the number of new productions from the world’s
most imaginative directors, to elevate further the company’s
theatrical standards, and to secure increased commitments from
opera’s greatest stars. Thanks to live, high-definition performance
transmissions in movie theaters internationally through the
Peabody Award-winning Live in HD series (later seen on public
television), an online subscription service for streaming hundreds
of opera performances, an around-the-clock satellite radio station,
streaming of performances online, and the continuing tradition of
Saturday matinee radio broadcasts, the onstage excitement at the
Met today reaches millions around the world.
Elevating classical dance in the hearts and minds of millions
New York City Ballet
One of the foremost dance companies in the world, New York City Ballet is renowned
for the athleticism and lyricism of its dancers – and for its ability to present the largest
repertory in the field of classical ballet. Founded by legendary choreographer George
Balanchine and philanthropist Lincoln Kirstein, New York City Ballet presents dance of
unrivaled excellence, while consistently developing new work of the highest order.
New York City Ballet continues to build new audiences through extensive touring,
public outreach and curriculum-based education programs, and by nurturing the next
generation of dance professionals through the New York Choreographic Institute and
its official training academy: The School of American Ballet. Such activities bring more
and more people to the ballet, promote the highest artistic standards, and elevate the
classical dance form in the hearts and minds of millions.
Honoring its role as a world leader in music and as the nation’s oldest
symphony orchestra
New York Philharmonic
The New York Philharmonic connects with up to 50 million music lovers each season through
performances, education programs, broadcasts and online. Having commissioned and/or premiered works
by leading composers from every era since its founding, the Orchestra now champions contemporary
music through the NY PHIL BIENNIAL, in venues across the city, among other projects. A resource for its
community and the world, the Philharmonic complements its annual free citywide Concerts in the Parks
with wide-ranging education programs, including the famed Young People’s Concerts and the New York
Philharmonic Global Academy—partnerships that cultivate tomorrow’s orchestral musicians. Renowned
around the world, having appeared in 432 cities in 63 countries, America’s oldest symphony orchestra has
always been a media pioneer, and today releases live performances through downloads and online. Music
Director Alan Gilbert has led the New York Philharmonic since 2009, succeeding 20th-century musical
giants including Bernstein, Toscanini, and Mahler.
Producing more professional ballet dancers than any other school in the United States
The School of American Ballet
The School of American Ballet is the official training academy of the
New York City Ballet and the premier school of its kind in the country. Since
its storied founding by legendary choreographer George Balanchine and
philanthropist Lincoln Kirstein, the School of American Ballet has produced
more professional ballet dancers than any other school in the United States.
Extraordinarily accomplished faculty members guide the transformation of
talented students into professional dancers and prepare them for placement
in leading national and international ballet companies. Beyond the classroom,
students are offered a unique opportunity to gain performance experience
dancing in the Spring Workshop Performances, SAB’s community lecture
demonstration program, an annual Student Choreography Workshop, and in
New York City Ballet productions.
Serving Lincoln Center’s mission of Great Art for All
Lincoln Center for the

over 400 world-class performances through its acclaimed
series including Great Performers, American Songbook, White
Light Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival, Lincoln Center Festival,

addition to presenting a broad spectrum of the world’s leading
artists, a variety of innovative educational and community
outreach programs invite thousands of children, families, and
neighbors to Lincoln Center’s halls and plazas to experience the
unique joy of the performing arts. The Emmy Award–winning

Junior Council
Business Council
The Lincoln Center Corporate Fund’s Business Council encourages the support of
middle-market businesses and professional firms. Council members represent a
wide cross-section of middle-market businesses from a variety of geographic areas
that work together to provide special events and other cultivation opportunities to
build an important base of support for Lincoln Center.
A new initiative of the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund, the Women’s Leadership
Council & Junior Council are impassioned female business leaders coming
together with the mutual goal of raising unrestricted dollars for eight performing
arts organizations and two professional performing arts academies resident at
Lincoln Center. The unrestricted nature of these funds permits the organizations
to use them to maximum effect, which includes engaging in creative educational
programming, and presenting exciting new productions and free performances.
