VACATIONS
Great Explorations is developing a portfolio of luxurious villa properties in Europe to
provide villa-based active vacations for groups of 6-12+ people – whether you are part of a
family (or families), or a group of friends who wish to base in one amazing villa or chateau,
these properties will be one-of-a-kind finds that are tried and tested to ensure they meet
our (and your) high standards for lodging. Our local host will meet you at the villa on your
arrival day and provide an orientation and be your local contact for anything you may need
while in the region.
In keeping with our long-held belief in active vacations, we provide high-end bicycles (in
Provence - Cannondale Supersix 5 105 or Cannondale Quick Speed performance hybrid
bikes), highlighted maps and route instructions for our favourite rides in the region,
thoroughly researched information and recommendations on everything from local wine
tastings to restaurants.
Choose from several additional options including a guide to ride with your group on
one or more days, cooking courses, guest chefs, wine tastings with local wine makers
or sommeliers, guided historical walks with a local guide – you get the idea. With our
experience and connections, we will help you enjoy the region to its fullest.

OUR BICYCLES
The majority of our bicycle fleet are Cannondale bikes; Cannondale is
the premier bicycle manufacturer in North America and Europe. We also
maintain a fleet of Van Nicholas Mistral titanium race bikes in Provence.
Our Cannondale hybrid bikes in the Provence are new Quick Speed
performance hybrids with components as follows:
• Frame: aluminum; carbon fork
• Transmission: Shimano 105; Gearing: 2x10
• Crank: 50/34; Cassette: 11-34
• Tire: 700 x 28C
• Saddle: Cannondale Quick Speed Ergo
Racing bikes (dropped handlebar) models are as follows:

• Seat: Prologo Scratch Pro
All bikes come with pump, tire levers, spare tube, water bottle carrier etc.
Hybrid bikes come with handlebar bags (VAUDE Road II, Vol. 9 L) and
rear racks; racing bikes, come with map case but not a rear rack. We tune
each bike prior to your arrival so that it is ready to ride for you.
