FADMA COUNTRY REPORTS Venue : Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) Bangalore, Karnataka, India Date : 6th to 9th April, 2016 INDIA-2016 FADMA Report _____________________________________________________________________ Federation of Asian Die and Mould Associations (FADMA) is a regional grouping of die and mould manufacturers and precision engineering associations and TAGMA India is one of the 10 members of FADMA. The other members are from Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia. This time FADMA convention was held on June 24th 2015 at Bangkok hosted by Thailand Die and Mould association. Mr. D. Ravi, EC Member represented from TAGMAIndia for FADMAconvention. The country repot presented by TAGMA India is being reproduced in this issue. We will print reports of all countries in the subsequent issues of the newsletter for the benefit of our members. Tool and Gauge Manufacturers Association-India • Started in 1990 | 525 Members • Registered office in Bangalore, Secretariat in Mumbai, Chapter offices at Pune and Coimbatore • Organizes DIEMOULD INDIA International Exhibition, the most popular mould and die show in India, conducted biannually since 1998. • Liaison with Govt. of India on Industry issues like Common Facility Centres covering Skills, Testing, Technology gaps to enhance competitivesness • Online library and CBT modules to Enhance Knowledge and Technology in Toolmaking. TAGMA TIMES NEWS LETTER • JULY-2015 • Promote and encourage improvements for competitive growth through Exhibitions, delegations, workshops, seminars conference. • Periodically conducts survey/ study of the Indian Toolrooms Industry and document the research findings to keep track of the developments which is widely shared in enhancing the contribution of this sector to the growth of the Indian economy. New Initiative To establish a series of “TAGMA Centre for Growth and Excellence” for tooling development/ trials and skills training for the benefit of the tooling and manufacturing industry in general – to start with Pilot Project at Chakan, Pune an Automobile hub in Maharashtra. Indian Economy • Growth picked up in 2014, inflation markedly declined, and the external position was comfortable, helped by positive policies and lower global oil prices. • The outlook for India is for economic strengthening through higher infrastructure spending, increased fiscal devolution to states, and continued reform to financial and monetary policy. Indian Tooling Industry Overview 2013-14 Demand Trend in Indian Tool Room Industry • The estimated turnover of the Indian Tool Room industry in FY 2013-14 was INR 141,750 Million. The sector has witnessed a marginal growth of 4% against the turnover of INR 136,000 Million during FY 2012-13. • The demand for Tooling during FY 2013-14 is mainly supported by positive growth in user sectors like two wheeler, tractors, packaging, Plastic and increased investment in developing new products across all user • After growing by 4.5% in FY 2013, industry accelerated to 5.9% in FY 2014, helped by a 6.8% growth in manufacturing. • The government's initial estimates for Fiscal Year 2014 (ending March 2015) show that economic growth accelerated to 7.4%. Agriculture growth slipped to 1.1% in FY2014 largely because the monsoon was erratic, particularly affecting the summer crop. The production of food grains contracted by 3.2% from FY 2013 • Monthly industrial production estimates indicate a modest upturn.
