CLASSES
Fall 2016
#501 Parenting Solo
There are many who parent alone for the short or long term, including military, work
situations, separation, divorce, loss of a partner, and single parenting. All are
welcome for support and information. Children will participate in age appropriate activities.
#506 & #507 All Joy and No Fun: The Paradox of Modern Parenting
This class is based on information from Jennifer Senior’s book by the same name. We will talk about what effects children have on
their parents and how children reshape the relationship in rewarding and surprising ways.
#601 Dad and Me!
This class lets dads play with their children and discuss some issues unique to fatherhood. Enjoy crafts, group games, and activities
with your child, then the second half of class will be a dad-only discussion about fatherhood, discipline, and parenting goals.
#605: Ready. Set. Read!
Learn about how pre-reading skills develop and what we can do to help children on the road to reading success. During parent and
child time, the activities will support literacy and language development.
#606: Young Scientists!
Have fun observing, exploring, predicting, and discovering while learning about the world around us.
#615 Grandparenting in Today’s World
Grandparents can spend quality time with their grandchildren making art projects, singing, reading books, playing dress-up, and more!
After activity time, join other grandparents to discuss grandparenting in today’s world. The children will continue activities with the
early childhood staff while you meet other grandparents.
