He will also be fitted with glasses to help with the process. To learn more about the procedure; google search ‘seeing with your tongue’. Fund raising is being done through GoFundMe.com Gerry Johnson If you have any questions—see Natalie at 847-6901 or Lisa at 847-4818 2015 Habitat for Humanity/Picnics in the Park A big THANK YOU to all the volunteer workers and loyal diners who made the 2015 Habitat for Humanity Picnics in the Park a record breaking year. December 2015 The Messenger Volume 38 Page 12 December 2015 The Messenger Volume 38 Page 13 To Pastor Brenda and the CongregationWe would like to take this time and thank you for all the prayer and support that you showed us at our time of need and loss. I (LeeAnn) would like to thank you all for all the love, prayers, and support that you showed my mother, Dorothy Buck, when she lost her son Bill. It was of great peace of mind to me knowing that she had everyone looking after her, and also for keeping our whole family in your prayers every week. Bill is now home with Jesus. I would also like to thank all of you for all the prayers for my daughter, Susan Kunz, when she was fighting her cancer. It meant more than words can express, also thank you for all of the beautiful cards you all sent her and all the love. Susan is now at home with Jesus. Words cannot express how APPRECIATIVE we all are. It is nice to know that God looks after all of us, and sends the right people to us, when we need it most. May God bless you all, and we will hold your kindness in our hearts always. Thanks, The Ferrians and Dorothy Buck _________________________________________________________________ Hello Sherry Thompson, On Sunday, November 15, you were kind enough to come to Alexandria UMC to share your message and children’s message with all of us. We greatly enjoyed your service and your time and talents. Thanks again and also to Detroit Lakes UMC for sharing you with us. Wishing you all the best for a joyous day filled with many blessings. In Christ, Connie Marie __________________________________________________________________ Dear Rev. North, I attended your dinner and service last night (Nov. 11) and I just want to thank you for your tribute to veterans. I am a veteran and although I do not attend your church I was treated royally. I am a member of the Congregational church in Detroit Lakes so I have attended several joint services at the Methodist church. Your speakers last night were tremendous. I have met Ed on several previous occasions but I had not heard Nancy speak. Your service has been the high point of my week. Thank you again, Dick Wilson December 2015 The Messenger Volume 38 Issue Page 14 AREA HAPPENINGS… Friday, December 4 Tuxes & Tails, This is a fundraiser for the Humane Society. Practice Jesus If we practiced Jesus every way, It’d be like Christmas every day; If we, like Him, were meek and mild And loved each woman, man and child, If we’d read our Bible, it’d remind us, So that every single day would find us More and more in sweet accord With our sweet Jesus—Master, Lord. Then every day that we’re alive Would be like December 25. Joanna Fuchs
