Team members must be at least 16 years old.
The abilities that are required of all Enchanted Forest team members are as follows:

The ability to follow safety rules. All team members must possess attitudes and work behaviors that
are conducive to a safety-positive work environment. This includes the ability to alertly see and hear
one's surroundings for unsafe behaviors and situations. Team members must have an attention span that
allows them to concentrate on one or more tasks for an extended period of time.
The ability to project a professional and positive attitude at all times. In our organization, we hire
people who are professional, cheerful, and friendly. Team members must be able to censor themselves
while they are on Enchanted Forest property or acting as a representative of the park. Foul language is
prohibited while team members are on the premises, and we expect that our team members will adopt a
positive, professional, and friendly attitude while at work. Some team members rotate jobs frequently,
while other team members work only one job for the duration of their employment. Team members must
be willing to work any job in the park for any length of time.
The ability to communicate effectively. Team members must be able to speak in a loud, clear voice.
Applicants must have proficient English language skills (both verbal and written). Team members must
be able to give safety instructions to guests and may be required to give a safety announcement every
few minutes as part of their work duties. In addition, team members must be able to use and
communicate effectively over a walkie-talkie.
The ability to work efficiently. Team members must be able to perform assigned tasks in a timely and
efficient manner. When interacting with park guests, team members must display a sense of urgency and
be able handle guest requests as quickly and cheerfully as possible.
The ability to learn tasks and perform them accurately. Team members are trained using a variety of
methods including training seminars, reading materials, videos, and hands-on training. Team members
must be able to assimilate training information regardless of the training method used. All work duties in
the park require that our team members be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
The ability to follow a dress code. At Enchanted Forest, we strive to project a clean and professional
image. All team members are required to follow a strict dress code. (The dress code is contained in this
application packet.) The dress code dictates what types of clothing may be worn with the uniform, what
types of jewelry and other accessories are permitted, and other items that may enhance or detract from
the look of the uniform.
The ability to perform physically demanding tasks. The park is built on a very steep hill. All team
members must be able to walk up and down the hill numerous times throughout the day without
assistance. Additionally, many jobs in the park require lifting heavy objects that may weigh as much as
50 lbs. Applicants must be able to stand for an extended period of time, and must be able to move
quickly in an emergency.
The ability to perform work functions in all types of environments. Many work stations are located
outdoors. Applicants must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
The ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with others. Enchanted Forest strives
to create a positive and safe work environment for all of its team members. Team members work with
many different types of people who come from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Team
members are expected to be pleasant and cheerful at all times to everyone, both behind the scenes and in
front of guests.
The ability to recognize and report unethical behavior. We place a lot of trust in our team members.
Team members may be required to handle money and other negotiable instruments (e.g. tickets,
bracelets, gift cards). It is the job of every team member to report unethical or unsafe behavior promptly.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR GENERAL PARK EMPLOYEMENT
This is a general description of job duties that regular park team members perform. Team members may be
assigned additional tasks above and beyond the duties listed below. All team members are expected to keep
busy during down times by cleaning and organizing their work areas. Team members may be rotated among
these positions frequently or may be assigned one task for the duration of their employment. How often a team
member rotates positions is determined solely by Enchanted Forest management.
Attraction Attendant – Attraction attendants generally work to help guests utilize an attraction quickly and
efficiently. The job functions that attraction attendants perform vary greatly depending on the attraction. An
attendant may be responsible for taking tickets, showing a guest how to utilize an attraction (Pan for Treasure,
etc.) or operating an attraction unseen by the public. Attraction attendants are in a better position to make a
guest's stay magical, so attendants must be smiley, patient, and kind. Attendants must be able to work
unsupervised and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Cashier – Cashiers are responsible for accurately reporting sales on a Point-Of-Sale system, giving accurate
change, handling money and other negotiable instruments, bagging and distributing merchandise, restocking
food and merchandise, and providing excellent guest service. Cashiers must be able to stand for long periods of
time. Cashiers are also responsible for keeping their work area clean and tidy. This may include sweeping,
mopping, window cleaning, and other light cleaning duties. Cashiers must be able to work unsupervised and
perform additional tasks as assigned.
Food Preparation – Food preparation team members work in teams to prepare and serve food to guests and
other team members in a safe and efficient manner. Food handlers must present a valid food handler's card
within 30 days of hire. (To obtain a food handlers card, go to http://www.orfoodhandlers.com. You must pass a
test on food safety and pay a $10 fee). In addition to preparing food, food prep team members are responsible
for cleaning and sanitizing work areas, washing dishes, learning and implementing food safety systems,
restocking and rotating food merchandise, and other tasks as assigned. Team members who work in food areas
generally perform cashiering functions as well.
Relief Team Member – Relief team members give breaks to other team members who cannot leave their work
area. Relief team members are given a schedule of breaks to perform and are responsible for accurately
reporting break times to management. While not giving breaks, relief team members are assigned tasks by the
supervisory staff. Relief team members must be able to work unsupervised.
Park Sweeper – Park sweepers are assigned a route and are responsible for keeping their area clean. Sweepers
are also responsible for conducting restroom spot checks. Sweepers carry a broom, dust receptacle, squeegee,
and a bottle of cleaning solution. Sweepers constantly walk up and down the hill throughout the day and are
frequently asked to carry stock and merchandise to various locations throughout the park. Sweepers are
expected to know the layout and history of the park to assist guests who may need information or directions.
Parking Lot Attendant – Lot attendants are responsible for directing traffic, protecting guest cars from theft,
and providing a safe and cheerful presence in our parking lots. Because parking lot attendants are the first and
last team member our guests usually see, lot attendants are expected to wave and smile a lot while on duty. Lot
attendants must be able to stand for extended periods of time on hard surfaces like asphalt and gravel. Lot
attendants must be visible at all times, so they are generally assigned to stand in the middle of the parking lot
where there is minimal shade. In extreme cases, external temperatures can reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in
summer, so lot attendants must be able to withstand extreme weather.
Ride Attendant – You must be 18 years or older to work as a ride attendant or operator. A ride attendant's
primary function is to ensure the safe operation of the ride they are working on. The work that ride attendants
do varies greatly depending on the ride and position they are assigned. The following is a list of functions and
requirements for the different tasks that ride attendants perform:
• Loader / Unloader – The loading staff is charged with ensuring that guests get on and off of ride safely.
Loaders / unloaders are also responsible for taking tickets, checking bracelets, enforcing height
requirements, and keeping an accurate count of guest ridership.
• Ride Operators – Ride operators are responsible for the safe operations of the ride. On smaller rides, ride
operators may also perform loading and unloading functions.
• Ride Observer – The Big Timber Log Ride is the only ride at this time that uses ride observers. Ride
observers sit in a defined location and watch for unsafe behavior and situations. The ride observer has
the authority to shut down the ride if they believe unsafe conditions exists. It is extremely important that
ride observers have a good attention span as most of their duties consist of observation. Observers may
also give guests verbal instructions over a loud speaker if a guest is observed doing something unsafe.
Observers may also be responsible for unloading guests off the ride in the event of a safety shutdown.
In addition to the duties listed above, ride attendants may be assigned additional tasks during slower times.
Slide Attendant - Slide attendants are charged with ensuring that guests follow safety rules while using one of
our slides. In addition, slide attendants space out sliders on the slide to prevent collisions and control the speed
of the slide to maximize slider enjoyment and safety. Slide attendants must be able to speak in a loud clear
voice, correct unsafe sliding behavior in a manner that does not offend the slider, and be able to control large
crowds of people with friendliness and tact. Slide attendants perform many repetitive tasks (e.g. preparing mats
for sliders and giving safety instructions to each slider before they slide) but must perform those tasks
cheerfully. Slide attendants must be able to work unsupervised and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Men cannot wear earrings. Women are limited to one pair of simple earrings in the lobe, no higher. Earrings
