evolving, or
devolving, state of the union,”
Margaret says, in describing
her newest concert. This new
show will include some of the
more popular routines from
her critically acclaimed 2004
show, State of Emergency, a
performance The New York
Times called “Murderously
funny!” But it will also include
insightful, yet hilarious,
observations on current
national and world events,
observations that will change
daily even as events are
changing.
Cho, a favorite with
Hawai‘i audiences, last
appeared at the Waikiki Shell
in 2003 in her celebrated
concert, Revolution. That
60-city tour produced a hit
CD that was nominated for
a Grammy, as well as DVD
that sold 100,000 copies
in its first two months of
release. Her earlier shows,
I’m the One That I Want and
Notorious C.H.O., have also
produced popular movies,
CDs, a best-selling book and
a concert at Carnegie Hall.
Margaret was recently
honored by the ACLU of
Southern California with their
24 MARCH 2005 DaKine
First Amendment Award and
by the National Organization
for Women with their 2003
Intrepid Award. She has also
been recognized by GLAAD,
Lambda Legal, the National
Gay & Lesbian Task Force
and the Asian
American
Legal Defense
and Education
Fund for having
made a significant
difference in the promotion of
equal rights for all, regardless
of race, sexual orientation or
gender identity.
In addition to this tour,
Margaret is in production on
a new movie, Bam Bam &
Celeste, written by and starring
herself and Bruce Daniels that
is slated for release in late
2005.
The performance begins
at 7:30 pm and tickets are
available from Ticketmaster,
Times Supermarkets, by
calling 877.750.4400 or at
