_____Beginning Stained Glass Classes _____
Introductory Stained Glass w/ Catlin Adami & Melinda Gray
Build your own stained glass window from scratch using the copper foil
technique. In this five-week course, students will learn all processes
involved. Here’s what you’ll learn:
-Students choose their pattern and pick out glass
-Learn to cut, solder, and frame their finished piece
-Students can purchase all the materials during class with a student
discount. (Tools and materials are an estimated $250 extra. When class is
finished, students will have the necessary skills and materials to continue
the craft at home or during Stained Glass Garden’s Studio Time.)

Building Cutting Skills w/ Julie Orchard
Score big with this 1 day intensive. Advance your mosaic, fused glass, or
stained glass designs with improved glass cutting skills. This workshop will let
you in on secrets of the pros, while introducing you to techniques with a circle
cutter, & Morton System. Bring a glass cutter & lets get scoring!

Intermediate Stained Glass w/ Catlin Adami & Melinda Gray
Your stained glass education will blossom with the motivation and inspiration
of a class environment. -Students work at their own pace and pick their own
focus such as leaded glass or home projects while getting one on one time with
the instructor. Students bring their own tools for this class and receive
discounts in the store. TUITION $125

Mosaic Birdbaths w/ Amy Neiman
Create a 16" birdbath vessel combining art glass and your own treasures. No
experience needed. Most materials provided, but students are encouraged to
bring additional items (e.g.broken dishes, small ceramic figures, various
glass items, etc.) to further personalize their mosaic project if they would
like to. TUITION $175

Collage & Multi Media Mosaics w/ Julie Orchard
Develop the look of dimensionality & build intrigue by adding another layer of
design & imagery with multi-media mosaics in this 2-day collage class. You will
walk away with a grouted 9x12” wall panel. Here’s what you’ll learn:
- The process of planning a design to highlight an image or collage
-Creating a cuttable “glass map” for incorporating grout lines
-Selecting appropriate glass and adhesives
-Grouting over paper

Mosaic Steppingstones w/ Amy Neiman
Add a touch of color to your yard with beautiful garden art! Create a smooth glass
stepping stone on concrete pavers. You will learn to cut, design, and use thin set
mortor in the "indirect" method of mosaic application. It's easy and fun! Beginners
welcome! TUITION $125

Glass on Glass Mosaics w/ Julie Orchard
A great class for the first time mosaic artists and intermediates! You will learn how
to build your own glass substrate, framed in zinc using the lil notcher and soldered
together. Learn how to transfer and cut out a pattern (we will provide the
patterns), successfully cut and break your glass and adhere it with specific
adhesive. The Second day of this glass with be focused on grouting. Tuition $125

The perfect one-day introduction to working hot glass. Here’s what you’ll learn:

Introduction to Torch Fired Enameling w/ Anat Silvera
Visiting Artist & author of the book “Enameling made Easy”, Anat Silvera, is
coming to teach a one-day intensive on the basics of torch firing glass enamels on
copper for beautiful, wearable art. You will create 6-10 pieces of unique jewelry
to take home. Here’s what you’ll learn:
- How to prepare metals for firing
- Techniques for sifting multiple layers of glass enamels & using a torch
- Getting acquainted with torch firing tools & safety
- Creating unique designs & imagery with stencils, stamping, sgraffito & decals

Holiday Fused Glass w/ Wesley Wong
Get into the holiday spirit by creating a stand-up Christmas tree or a glass
menorah. The interlocking design allows you to neatly and compactly store the
piece after the holidays. You will also have the opportunity to create a mezuzah or
some ornaments. All Levels; Basic Glass Cutting Skills Recommended

Fused Monarch Butterfly w/ visiting artist, Wesley Wong
Create a fused glass Monarch butterfly that can be incorporated into a mosaic
project or mounted for display. Techniques will be covered for fusing the body
separately or with the wings. Students will learn how to attach wires for the
antennae and hardware for mounting the butterfly for wall display or as a garden
stake. Students will also learn how to scale down the butterfly for an ornament.
As time permits students may also make other pendant-sized bugs. The fused
glass Monarchs were featured in the Summer 2013 issue of Glass Patterns
Quarterly magazine. Basic glass cutting skills required.

Learn how to create a woven texture using this exciting technique. Thoughtful
planning based around design, color and pattern will be covered in this 2 day

The most comprehensive training in glass compatibility, operating kilns, focusing on
all the most up-to-date fusing accessories, and more. Learn a variety of fusing
techniques including glass casting, slumping to create slumping, and jewelry making
in this five session course. Each week you will prepare a new piece that we will fire for

Koi Casting: Carving Kaiser Lee Board for Reverse Mold
making
w/ Barbara Morita
Artist Barbara Morita has developed a unique technique for creating three
dimensional cast sculptures in glass, and is known for her life-like koi fish. She
will teach you the secrets of planning a design for a reverse carving in the reusable Kaiser Lee Board for fusing.
Heres what you’ll learn in this 2 day workshop:
How to capture movement within a design, Transferring a design to a carvable
surface, Tools & Techniques for working with Kaiser Lee Board, Making
adjustments after the first firing, Incorporating your finished sculpture into
further projects. TUITION: $150 includes materials for two projects & takehome mold.

Fusing in Depth w/ Dam Molds w/ Julie Orchard
Let your layers know no limits! Get more depth through damming without the
hassle of cold working using new Patty Gray Dam molds. Explore creative uses
for your scrap glass, and advance your firing skills. TUITION $175 Includes
materials and a take home mold!

Create beautiful and ornate fused rings with the addition of precious metal clay
elements. Guest instructor Arlene Mornick teaches how to incorporate precious

Glass Fusing Lab
Work with advanced techniques in the company of other creative artists. Projects
will be self-selected. Staff is available for guidance, but fusing experience is
necessary. Use of grinders, tools, and one kiln load per class included.

Studio Time
Need space? Come use our workshop for any project! If you’ve had a class in glass, you
may drop-in anytime Monday- Thursday, 10-5pm for FREE! Tools or Grinders are
available for $10/hr. Wet saw available for use with purchase of blade. Kiln rental, and
Storage space also available. (No instruction or teachers are provided.)
Special Events & Private Parties:
If a listed date doesn’t work for you - host your own day of glass! Adults and kids love to
learn mosaics, fusing or stained glass. Choose your date! Available for 4-10 people, lasts
2-5 hours. $75 - $95 per person. Team building workshops & travel options also
available!

Don’t have your own kiln yet? Use ours! We’ll set it up for you, just bring in your glass
and we’ll do the rest.
*FREE use of any slumping mold in the classroom!
