See you there!
Dear Parents and Friends
Once again CONGRATULATIONS to all our students for their wonderful performance at the school concert last Thursday evening. The students presented a smorgasbord of country songs, (I still have the Johnny Cash song stuck
in my head) a few boot scooting dances and a string of jokes (classic “Dad”
jokes!) - it was an entertaining and highly enjoyable night. A big thankyou to
Mrs Duncombe for directing the performance.
This Friday night is the OLC Trivia night and it’s not too late to buy a ticket
(available from the school) for what promises to be a fun, entertaining night
out.
The organising group (OLC Principals) have been putting in a substantial
amount of time and effort to ensure the night is a huge success. We are keen
to raise funds for our schools
(your children) and also to
provide our school communiOLC CLUSTER TRIVIA NIGHT
ties with a fun event.

SCHOOL CONCERT 2015- COUNTRY AND WESTERN NIGHT
“Dolly Parton” (Chloe) and
“Johnny Cash” (Brodie) attended be our emcees for the evening.
Our “Dolly Partons” (Bridie and
Ava) for the “9 to 5” song sung
by Prep grade.
Yesterday we walked to the hall
and practiced for our concert. Our
songs were “Ring od Fire” by
Johnny Cash and “Lookin’ Out My
Back Door” by Creedance Clearwater Revival. The whole school
sang, “I walk the Line,” “9 to 5,”
“Down on the corner” and
“Rhinestone Cowboy.”
Chloe was Dolly Parton and Brodie
was Johnny Cash and Hunter and
Boadie told two lots of jokes.
Our theme was Country and Western. The concert was fantastic and
also very dark.
On the concert
night I was excited and happy. I
sang and sang
and sang and I
laughed so so
much. It was so
much fun and I
got to have a
soda.
By Jorja-Lee and
Lucy W.
GRADE 2/3 students showed their
boot– scooting abilities whilst singing
“Achy Breaky Heart.”
And the grade 5 /6 boys showed
wonderful fiddling abilities—but
alas no real fiddles!

GARDEN HELP
THANK YOU
Thank you to the Tabetha Graham and others have given
time to some weeding of our
gardens around the new
building. It looks great!
Valanga Khoza, a South
African, shared his music,
dance and story-telling
with the children during
today’s OLC Cluster Day
The children and staff were
intrigued by the different
types of musical instruments
Valanga introduced to them
as well as being spellbound
by his stories.
Once again students were
drawn into the performance
through hands on involvement.
The day was a great success
as students from the High
School also came out to
share—see over page.
Students from
Wangaratta High School
attended to inform and
entertain our OLC students. Music students
performed several items
on their flutes . . .
.whilst others informed our
students about High School
life and answered any questions our students might have
about High School procedures.
It was lovely to see exGlenrowan students amongst
those high school students who
visited the school.
