AFTERNOON OF PLAY”?
1/2 Day Cafe
School’s out, Fun is in ! … Play at the Effingham Park
District! We will have a Pizza Party when all students
arrive at the rec center. Our smorgasbord of fun will vary
with each session: movies, bowling, cooking, crafts,
games, and open gym for the enrolled students. All
activities are included in registration fee. Registration
and payment must be made 1 week in advance.

Youth Basketball
It’s now time to register for Basketball! We offer programs for kids from 1st — 8th grades. Fees for
program are In District $30, Out of District $62, Instructional Leagues are $5 less. A late fee of $10
will be assessed after October 20. We are now able to offer credit card payments for Visa, Master
Card, and Discover.

Girls
This is a league designed to introduce basketball to the
boys. Instruction on dribbling, shooting, passing and
defense is given followed by game play. There are two 45
-minute sessions played each Tuesday evening with a
rotating schedule.

foot) rims. Both leagues play with a women’s basketball.

Solution for Transportation to After School Programs
We are coordinating with Central Illinois Public Transit for transportation to our after school
programs. A bus will be at your child's school to transport them to the rec center. For a $1 fee and
completion of a one time contact form your child is able to attend any after school program the park
district is offering. Lots of children are using this program to solve transportation issues! For more

Wiggles and Giggles
Tots Fun Shop
Giggles galore as your child plays fun interactive games,
experiments with crafts and sings songs with instruments.
Your child will experience group interaction, develop
social and school readiness skills. Miss Vicky from the
Itty Bitty Playground will be your teacher.
Wednesdays Ages 3 - 5 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. $8.00
Do you have a baby or toddler and are looking for new
things to do? We are offering this program to parents or
caregivers that would like to bring their children to come
and play. A new theme for play will be introduced each
month. We will have circle time, music, arts and lots of
outside play, yummy snack or a fun toy. Maybe you have
something to offer the group, story telling, fun games or
a craft. This program is designed for 1 and 2 year olds
along with their parents to help the little ones interact
with each other.

Special Needs Programs
Tumbling
These programs are for anyone with special needs, either
mental or physical, that would enjoy playing team sports.
We will teach game skills before each of the sports.
Kickball
Tie up your sneakers and join us for a unique kickball
program! We will have a great time! We will play outside
on the Boys Small Fry Diamond at Community Park.

This league begins in November and runs through March. Call the office if you are interested in forming a team.

League begins in November and runs through March. Call the office if you are interested in forming a team. The
league will play on Sunday night.
Adult Volleyball Programs
Women’s Volleyball
Serve’em up and Slam’em Down. This league begins in November and runs through March. Games are played on
Wednesday evenings. Game times are 7:00 and 8:00. Games are one hour in length.
Monday Night Co-ed Volleyball
Bump, set and spike for a competitive, yet recreational season of volleyball. This league begins in November and
runs through March. 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00.
Friday Night Co-ed Volleyball
Get a team together and join us for this fun-filled league. This league begins in November and runs through March.
Game times are 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00.
Adult Yoga
Adult Yoga
Use yoga to achieve mental, physical and spiritual balance. Yoga uses movement, breath, posture, relaxation and
meditation in order to establish a healthy, vibrant and balanced approach to living. Yoga is distinctly different from
other forms of exercise generating motion without causing strain and imbalances in the body. With proper practice,
hatha yoga helps develop balance, strength and flexibility while having no negative effects on either the inner or
outer body.
