Is a new three level building
which used to be one of
accommodation to held marriage
celebration.
- No supporting facilities such as make
up room and dressing room.
- Air circulation system & unhygienic
sanitation
- Unknown of people
- Limited parking area (50 cars only)
- No characteristic of building that could
show the image of wedding chapel

GOAL & OBJECTIVES
GOAL
- Design wedding chapel with the concept of java
contemporary to create sacred ambience, holy, romantic
and also interesting.
- Create comfort ambience with the concept of java
contemporary
- Research the room with analyzing the activities and the
needs of user
- Design the facilities to be suitable with every religion
- Design the interior of wedding chapel with unique and
different concept of java contemporary so that the
wedding chapel have a characteristic.
OBJECTIVES
To object
Give a new and different ambience and also characteristic to
show new identity of wedding chapel

Provide facilities that would help users to prepare any
wedding ceremony
To student
Add knowledge and experience in the process of learning
about how to design a good wedding chapel.

of social norms. The wedding ceremony has many
varieties and variations according to ethnic
traditions, religion, culture or social class or
customary use of certain rules is sometimes
associated with the rule or law in certain religious

EXISTING
PALACIO WEDDING CHAPEL SURABAYA
Palacio is located on Jl Nginden Semolo 42W Surabaya. In front of Dr.Soetomo University (Unitomo) dan 17 Agustus
University (Untag) and next to STIE Perbanas. It is located in a crowded district but is barely unknown to the people in the
area, because the building of the chapel can not be seen from the main street. Palacio is established in 2011, consists of 3
stories.
The first floor is used for tenant shops and food xtreet which is used for public use from 4 PM – 10 PM. At this area, there
are still a lot of empty spaces, because there aren’t many tenants hiring the place. On the same floor there’s also a
fountain which is turned on at evenings.
On the second floor there are 8 karaoke rooms with 8-10 person capacity, a coffee bar with barely any customer, a
function hall the capacity for up to 800-900 person. The function hall is usually used for wedding receptions and birthday
parties (sweet 17).
The third floor is the wedding chapel area which is used to hold a wedding ceremony. This wedding chapel is not just
specified for a Christian wedding, but can also be used for Islamic, Hindu, Buddha, Konghucu wedding ceremony. Palacio
has several wedding packages to be offered to the groom-bride-to-be’s from 108 million rupiahs. To cost to rent the
wedding chapel is about 15-20 million rupiahs. Surrounding the wedding chapel is a roof top garden which can used for
outdoors ceremonies or activities
EXISTING
MILO’S VILLA , Buleleng-Bali
The architectural existing reference to be applied for this
project is MILO’S VILLA with 3 stories and +- 1000m2 of
size. It is located on a cliff next to the sea, so it has an
explendid view. So the third floor can be used dan letak
lokasi dengan view yang bagus for a rooftop garden and
wedding chapel.
