What is AP?
•ADVANCED PLACEMENT – AP
–Classes: High school courses taught by high school
teachers on the high school campus
–Examples: AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP English
Language & Composition, AP English Literature, AP
Human Geography, AP World History, AP US History, AP
Government, AP Economics, etc.
–Eligibility: Student committed to rigorous learning
–Tests: Designed by the College Board are administered
in May at school, passing score earns college credit
–Scores: 3 or higher = 3 Hours of College Credit
–Scores: 4 or 5 = 6 or 8 Hours of College Credit (selected courses2
by university)
What is Dual Enrollment?
• Agreement with the College of Central Florida
– Classes: Some on high school campus taught by high school
teachers, all on CCF campus (Lecanto – Ocala) taught by CCF
teachers
– Examples: Freshman Comp Skills 1 & 2 (English 1 & 2), US
History, College Algebra, Psychology, Anatomy & Physiology
– Eligibility: College Ready ACT, SAT or PERT Score: ACT=19,
SAT=440 Verbal, 440 Math, PERT Math=114, Reading=106,
Writing=103
– Credit: Earning a grade of “C” or higher
– Guaranteed Acceptance: College Credit/GPA accepted at all
Universities and Colleges in Florida
