SWMMC MONTHLY SOUTHWEST METRO MUSTANG CLUB WWW.SOUTHWESTMETROMUSTANGCLUB.COM Getting Started the moment we have the weekend of July 26-28, 2019 on hold with the MCA as we work with two hotels on getting a venue chosen. More details at the June club meeting. I apologize for the newsletter being so late, but May was a blur and June isn’t slowing down. The highlights from May: the All Ford show on the 15th was far and away our best show. See the details below. A fantastic day all around; We added nine new member households in May—another record breaking effort; We had a strong showing for the May cruise to the Veit Auto Museum with 18 cars and 33 people attending. Our quest for a national MCA show continues. We have missed the opportunity to host a show in 2018. At The upcoming cruise to the Fagen Fighter WWII Museum should be great as we will be getting photos of our cars with a P-51 Mustang. Thanks to Dan Nicewander. See the tid-bits section for more activity and news. There was one low light over the past month. I was disappointed in the club attendance at the NF Upper Midwest fund raiser on June 4th. The club had a total of three people show up. The NF folks were nice enough to give us a shout out, but I was hoping for a better turn out after months of advertising the event. May All Ford Show Recap We had an absolutely great show on May 15th! There were 117 registered cars and easily 200 spectators for the show. The weather was a little chilly but great nonetheless. The boy scouts served good food and essentially ran out of most items by 12:30pm. We had enough cars and trucks to award all 36 trophies. This was by far our most successful show as a club. I want to thank all those who helped put the show together and those that helped Saturday and Sunday to make the show go smoothly. A special thanks to David Kronk for getting the club's online presence to be a difference mak- June 10, 2016 Volume 3, Issue 4 er in building awareness of our activities. Lastly, we need to thank all the companies and organizations that contributed to the show especially Apple Ford Shakopee for their sponsorship and support. Check out the pictures on Shutterfly thanks to Anthony Sagat and Jeff Mattson for the great photos. We will have final financial figures for the show at the June club meeting, but the amount should be in the $1,200 range. See page XX for some sample photos. Home 952-898-3366 Ask for Dan Cruise Invitations Dan Nicewander has set up Google calendar to send invites to club cruises (and possibly other club events) via email. The plan is to send everyone on the club email list an invite a few days after the previous month’s cruise, and a reminder invite a week before the cruise. Club members just need to reply to the invite by selecting “Yes—I am going”, “Maybe”, or “No”. The invite serves as a way to make sure everyone knows about our cruises, and also a tool to gauge interest and attendance. The June cruise is the first cruise to be scheduled using Google. As of this writing we have 19 cars with 29 people planning on attending the cruise. Nice to know ahead of time for planning. Take advantage of the invites when they arrive in your in box. SWMMC June Cruise The club’s June cruise will to the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum in Granite Falls on Saturday June 11th. The club will rally at the Fleet Farm in Carver with a departure time of 8:00am. It will take about 120 minutes to drive to the museum. We will have the opportunity to get pictures of the club and member cars with a vintage P -51 Mustang fighter. VERY COOL! We will stop in Sacred Heart for lunch after visiting the musem. See page 7 for more details. Let Dan Nicewander know if you plan on attending.
