intro
Paco Collars are not meant to sit on a shelf and
look pretty. They are meant to be worn, get
wet, dirty and stand all the abuses a dog can
put it through and still look good, nay, better
over time. Paco Collars are for active dogs who
want to look their best.
photo © lori cheung
To demonstrate this point, we asked our customers to submit pictures of their dogs in their
Paco Collars for this catalog. The response was
overwhelming and we received pictures of dogs
playing ball, swimming, tracking, jumping, covered in mud, digging, wrestling, and, of course,
sleeping.
Speaking of real dogs, that’s the
real Paco, the company’s namesake,
balancing a real Kong on his head.
For real.
While we couldn’t fit them all in here, a good
portion made the cut to demonstrate that real
dogs wear Paco collars, not just those fancy
high paid dog models that live in fancy dog
mansions... yeah.
We’ve tried to anticipate any questions you may
have but, as always, feel free to ask us. Not
only are we experts in making collars, we know
exactly what styles look best on what dogs.
Enjoy!

why paco?
Customers always want to know what sets Paco Collars apart from other products, so we made a handy list. Here goes:
- All collars are made with latigo leather, the
same leather used in horse tack so it is designed
to handle the elements and get softer with age.
- Leather is the preferred material for dogs that
suffer sensitive skin or allergies.
- Products are handmade locally, from scratch, by
dog-loving artisans in California.

about
Founded in 2002 by Ana Poe, Paco Collars is
run by the principle that dog collars can be
both fashionable and functional. Combining
her background in Art Practice (BA UC Berkeley) and dog training, Ana created a line of
products that fused these two core intentions.
In addition to kick-ass products, Paco Collars
remain 100% handmade locally with an emphasis
on philanthropy, social responsibility, and
education.
Interested customers are invited
to come in and learn leathercraft and the company is heavily involved with grassroots nonprofits that strive to increase the quality of
life for our four-legged companions.

Regular collars come in SMALL, MEDIUM, and LARGE.
SMALL collars are constructed of lightweight
latigo leather while MEDIUM and LARGE collars are
made of heavyweight latigo leather.
“DELUXE” collars come in those same size categories but feature an extra layer of leather riveted on top of the collar. This allows for a
unique look, extra strength, and the addition of
an extra “D” ring in the middle of the collar.
The key above shows available color combinations
for each design. Black = black leather, brown =
brown leather, tan = yellow leather, grey = silver
hardware, gold = brass hardware.

When in doubt,
follow the instructions, give
us the exact neck
measurement and
we’ll make it fit
perfectly!
sizing
This is what it looks like when you measure the dog’s neck correctly. Note
how the tape is flush, no slack, and not
squeezing... perfect!
yes!
no!
This is way too high
up and tight, not to
mention you’re probably cutting off
circulation to the
dog’s head.
No need for the “2
finger rule”... measuring like this will
result in a collar
way too large that
will slip off easily.
Just as no two brands of jeans will fit alike,
it is inaccurate to pull a neck measurement
off an old collar. Do it right, double check
your work, and you won’t be disappointed!

Two parallel rows of small pyramid studs create
crisp lines on this popular collar. It measures

Iggy was named after the

Large and small flat spots make this collar playful and bubbly. It’s also flashy enough to be
seen through thick hair. It measures 3/4” wide
and tapers down to a 1/2” buckle.
Lilo is little, adorable, and
spunky. This collar matches
his effervescent personality
perfectly and rumor has it he
started carrying his head just
a little higher as soon as he

This 3/4” wide collar boasts a multitude of
closely spaced round spots. So thin and sparkly, it’s like a necklace (albeit the strongest
necklace ever).
Both this collar and the Boodles (following

heavier weight leather than our Small collars,
they are a perfect option for strong small

Charming Milan Heart conchos accented with
rhinestones and floral flourishes make this 1.5”
wide collar stand out in a crowd. Available in
pink or blue, (though pink is, by far, the favored color).
As Naja demonstrates, double layer collars are great
for dogs who have longer coats, like shepherds,
since you can actually see
the design through the
coat.

Inspired by bulldog collars of yore, this 1.5”

Simple and distinguished, it is the perfect compliment for subtle dogs.

was amazed to find that the collar held up fine,
no worse for the wear.” -- Pamela Rody

At the risk of sounding like an Oscar winner,
I’d like to acknowledge and thank everyone who
helped make this possible, from the talented

the dogs, who continue to be our inspiration.
A special thanks goes out to Juliene, Paul,
