Welcome to SCI Novi’s annual banquet and fundraiser. This event
is the highlight of our year. We have a great time, book some
terrific hunts, and, more importantly, we raise the funds to support
the chapter’s projects throughout the year. In this brochure is a
list of what we support and where our money goes. As chapter
members, you should be proud of the programs we support.
Membership is the key to our success, so if you are a member,
thanks for your contributions and please renew them. If you are
not a member please visit our membership booth or website, and
join us. We need you on our team!
I would like to thank all of the volunteers, donors, outfitters, vendors, and our Board of Directors for all
of their work bringing this event together and making it a success. We have assembled a great lineup
of outfitters and vendors from across North America and from around the world. This is a great chance
to gain information and book a hunt or a vacation. Please support our donors, they have plenty of
hunting opportunities and equipment available to make your next trip the experience of a lifetime.
Tonight is also time to have some fun. We have raffles, games, contests, and auction items. Buy raffle
tickets, play the games, bid during the silent and live auctions and maybe you will be a winner. Good

David James, of Fish Hunter Charters, has generously donated a
half day fishing charter for salmon out of Frankfort, Michigan. This
donation is for up to four people. A fifth and sixth person can be
added for $75 each. Frankfort is located about four hours from the
metro-Detroit area on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan, and
is known for great salmon fishing. This trip may only be taken on a
weekday, during the months of June or July, 2015. A fishing license
is required. The winning bidder will also receive a 10% discount

great opportunity to turn your trip into a multi-day vacation.

Bob Easterbrook, Sr., a SCI Life Member and past president of Safari
Club International, has generously donated a one day Michigan feral
hog hunt for two hogs. This hunt will take place with Heritage Trophy
Hunts in Sage Lake, Michigan. The hunt may be taken by one hunter
(two hogs) or two hunters (one hog each). This hunt is good for 2015
only. Method of hunting is optional with your choice of spot and stalk,
a driven hunt, or hunting from a blind over a baited area. Hogs are under 300 pounds. Weapon may be hunter’s choice of rifle, bow, or cross
bow. Processing of meat is not included and will be at the hunter(s) expense. Hunter(s) are also

L6 FIVE DAY SOUTH AFRICAN SAFARI FOR TWO HUNTERS AND TWO NON-HUNTERS
Hendrik Botha of Matwetwe Safaris has donated a five
day South African safari for two hunters and two nonhunters. This hunt includes a $1000 credit towards
trophy fees to be shared between the two hunters. This
hunt will take place in the Limpopo Province of South
Africa, where there is an abundance of plains game
animals. The winning bidder can schedule this hunt
with the outfitter for open dates during the 2015 or
2016 season. The winning bidder may choose between
hunting with a rifle, bow, crossbow, or handgun. This
safari is upgradeable to include more days, more hunters and more non-hunters. If the hunt is upgraded
to a ten day safari, an additional $1000 credit will be added towards trophy fees for the hunters. Included
in this donation are all meals and accommodations in modern air-conditioned chalets, 2x1 guiding, field

Chris Daniels from Briarwood Sporting Club has generously donated
a three day/two night fishing getaway for up to eight people. Come
see why Briarwood has been Ohio’s best kept secret for the last 35
years. Their trout streams offer some of the finest fly fishing in the
country for rainbow, brook, brown, and golden trout. You will
also have access to over ten lakes stocked with a variety of fish
including, largemouth bass, bluegill, hybrid striped bass, walleye,
tiger muskie, catfish, and perch. Overnight accommodations will
be at Briarwood Lodge located on Briarwood Lake. This lodge is
furnished with satellite television, modern kitchen, massive stone
fireplace, recreational equipment including two private boats, and a large wooden
deck complete with outdoor grilling station. This trip needs to be taken on a
Monday through Thursday, and within one year from today’s date. Food and

L10 THREE NIGHT/TWO DAY SOUTHWEST MONTANA FLOAT
FISHING TRIP FOR TWO PEOPLE
John and Sherry Cargill from Iron Wheel Guest Ranch have donated a three night/
two day float fishing trip for two people. The winning bidder will have two days of
float fishing on the Big Hole or Jefferson River in a raft or drift boat searching for
rainbow, brook, brown, and cutthroat trout. There may also be the occasional
grayling on your line. This is a 2x1 guided fishing trip. Included in this donation
are three nights lodging in the beautiful Iron Wheel Guest Ranch’s 6000 square foot
lodge, and family-style meals. This trip must be taken during the summer of 2015
with the best time being between June 15 and July 30. The winning bidder will be
responsible for transportation to and from Iron Wheel Ranch in Whitehall, Montana.

for one hunter for a trophy blackbuck. This hunt will take place
in the famous Texas Hill Country. You may upgrade this hunt to
include extra days, and extra hunters are welcome at the current
daily guide rate. You can also upgrade to include any of the other
species available on Tommy’s ranches, such as, white-tailed deer,
axis, sika or fallow deer, boar, mouflon, Corsican ram, red sheep,

“A Cautious Approach.” This work of art was done by
wildlife artist Cynthie Fisher, who was recently named the
“2015 Conservation Artist of the Year” by Safari Club
International Foundation. Cynthie Fisher is from Hamilton,
Montana and is a self-taught wildlife artist. She has been
painting full-time for almost thirty years, concentrating
mainly on depicting unique animal behaviors and interactions, learned from a lifetime of studying,
observing and hunting wildlife. Her favorite activity is big game hunting, as she has hunted all over North
America, been to Russia, and Central Asia, and traveled to Africa fifteen times, taking many fine trophy
animals. Cynthie has displayed her art at several prestigious national art shows, and has over 150 of her

L36 5 DAY COLORADO ELK HUNT FOR ONE HUNTER
Larry Parks of Budge’s Flattops Wilderness Lodge has generously donated a five day hunt for a Rocky Mountain elk in Colorado.
This hunt will take place out of the comfort of a cabin and the
convenience of a central lodge located on the South fork of the
White River near Eagle, CO. This hunt is for one hunter and will
be conducted on a 2x1 basis. The hunt must take place in
October of 2015 during either the first or second hunting season
for elk. Individuals who already have preference points for
Colorado elk may hunt the first season if drawn, October 10-14, 2015. The second season is a guaranteed
draw, so if you don’t have points then you will still be able to get a tag for the second season which is October 17-22, 2015. The hunt is conducted with horses or on foot with highly experienced guides. This is a

Peter and Terry Martin of Kapriver Outfitters have generously donated
a five day black bear hunt in Kapuskasing, Ontario. This donation is for
one hunter and must be taken between August 15 and September 10,
2015. Your hunt may be taken in 2016 with arrangements with the outfitter. This is a semi-guided hunt, where Kapriver will provide lodging with
full kitchens facilities, but you will be responsible for your own food and
cooking. You will hunt BMA’s (Bear Management Areas) covering a total
of 3000 km². The Kapuskasing area is renowned for its huge bears.
Recently a female hunter took a 714 lb. bear with her bow. Hunter will

Dale Unkraut II of Northgate Farms has donated a four day white-tailed deer hunt in western Kentucky
for one hunter. This four day hunt will actually be two days of bow hunting and two days of muzzleloader
hunting. Northgate Farms hunting guides have several years of combined trophy whitetail hunting experience. They offer over 3,700 acres of prime whitetail and wild turkey property to hunt on, and have been
hunting western Kentucky for approximately 30 years. There have been many world class trophy whitetail
bucks taken from this region by past clients. This hunt will need to take place in October of 2015, with the
specific date agreed upon with the outfitter. This hunt may be upgraded to include more hunters at $1500.
The winning bidder will be responsible for the over-the-counter license at approximate $260. This donation
does not include lodging or meals, but the outfitter has information on options and should cost about
$75-$100 per night. The Novi chapter would like to thank Northgate Farms for their 100% donation.

Explanation of the “5 Gun Raffle”
The Super Gun Raffle has been changed significantly,
Please carefully review to the following information.
See any ticket seller to purchase tickets for this raffle.
1. Each ticket has a cost of $100.
2. Each ticket may be purchased by one person or up to 5 persons in $20 shares.
3. If to be shared:
• It is up to you to find others to share in the cost.
• We recommend that someone volunteer to serve as the ticket coordinator.
• Please decide in advance as to how each gun will be allocated to each share
of the ticket.
When it comes time for this drawing:
1. One $100 ticket, and only one $100 ticket, will be drawn.
2. The person or people that purchased that ticket, will win a total of five guns that are
on display here at the stage.
3. Once the winning ticket has been drawn, all five guns will be moved to the
Randy’s Guns booth.
4. If a person bought only one $20 share in the $100 ticket, they will win one gun.
If they bought two shares, they will win two guns, and so on.
Note: If less than thirty (30) tickets are sold, this “Super Gun” raffle will convert to a
50/50 drawing. Remember, anyone who wins one of these guns may exchange the gun
they win for another gun at Randy’s booth.

Announcement of Silent Auction, Raffles and Games
If I could have your attention, I would like to bring several “winning” opportunities to your attention. We do have several games and raffles this year:
1. The “Top Gun” Game is located on the front stage. 30 raffle tickets will
be sold. To play this game, please see area next stage for $100 ticket. When
all 30 tickets are sold we will draw 1 winner. Winner will receive Ruger Super
Blackhawk .44 Mag. Please note that this game has the very best odds of any offered tonight and only the first 30 entrees will have an opportunity.
2. Michigan Counties Game. This game consists of a map of Michigan and
each of its 83 counties and 17 islands. For $20, participants place their name
on any of the 83 counties and 17 islands available. Limit one name/entry per
county. At the end of the evening, we will draw the winning county name from
our tumbler, and the participant who chose that county will receive their choice
of the following guns:
1) Mossberg JIC Home Defense 12 ga.
2) Ruger Stainless Steel, Mannlicher stock 10/22
3) Ruger LCP .380 w/Laser sight.
3. Shut the Box game. The “box” is an open tray with a baize interior. A
row numbers one to nine appear along the top length. Each number has a corresponding square panel cover which can flip to cover the number. Two dice
are the only other requirement, although a dice cup may be used if desired.
A player takes a turn by repeatedly throwing the dice until the player cannot
continue. Each turn is $10, and is taken as follows:
If numbers 7, 8 and 9 are all covered, the player decides whether to throw one
die or two. If any of these 3 numbers are still uncovered, the player must use
both dice. The player throws the die or dice into the box and adds up the pips.
The player must then cover up a set of unique uncovered numbers that add up
to the sum thrown. So for instance, if the total pips is 8, the player may choose
one of the following sets of numbers as long as all of the numbers in the set
are available to be covered:
•8
•7&1
• 6&2
• 5&3
• 5&2&1
• 4&3&1
The player then does exactly the same thing with a second throw and so on.
Once a number is covered up, it stays covered so, eventually, the player will
throw a total for which it is not possible to find a set of uncovered numbers.
When this happens, the player scores the sum of the numbers that are still
uncovered. So if the numbers 1, 5 and 9 are uncovered and the player throws
a 4, with options 4 or 3 & 1, the turn finishes and the player’s score is 15.
If anyone succeeds in shutting the box i.e. closing all the numbers, that player
wins outright immediately and receives the “top prize” number of raffle tickets.
Final scores other than “shutting the box” receive decreasing numbers of raffle
tickets as their final score increases.
4. Our Progressive Raffle. A complete listing of the more than two dozen
raffle prizes for the Bronze, Silver and Gold level raffles is set out on p. 7 of
this program. Raffle tickets are limited, and tickets for the Silver and Gold level
raffles are available ONLY with purchase of packages of Bronze level tickets. Individual Bronze raffle tickets are available for $5 each, or in packages as
follows:
$100 Package – 25 Bronze, 5 Silver and 1 Gold tickets.
$200 Package – 50 Bronze, 15 Silver and 5 Gold tickets.
$400 package – 100 Bronze, 50 Silver, 15 Gold Tickets.
As you can see, the Silver and Gold level tickets are progressively more
limited, meaning the odds for winning those raffles become corresponding
better! Each of the items listed on p. 7 will be awarded in an individual raffle,
and ticket purchasers will be able to choose which of the items at each level
to wager their tickets on. In other words, at each of the levels (Bronze, Silver
and Gold), the prizes are awarded through individual “bucket” raffles, and
ticket holders can select which “bucket” to enter their tickets in. Gold raffle will
have two winner, with their choice of the three items. Winning entries will be
drawn for each item after the close of the live auction this evening.
5. SCI Mug Raffle purchase a SCI mug or pint glass to take home for $20.00
and receive a drink ticket good for one free drink at the event bar, and one
raffle ticket for a chance to win a gun off of Randy’s gun table.
6.
We will be conducting two Quickie Raffles • A $500 shopping spree at Somerset Collection mall
• A $500 gift certificate at Cabela’s
• These will only last for ten minutes so be ready.
7. Tickets for the “FIVE-gun” raffle are located with the ticket sellers ($100
per ticket.) You may buy a ticket by yourself, or share the cost with others.
• Please review the directions on page 5.
8. There is also a Winners Choice raffles at Randy’s Guns booth

• We will draw each time 52 cards are sold.

9. The silent auction began at 4:00 and your bids may be entered until 7:15.

Attend the “Riley Wilderness Youth Camp”
Hosted by the Michigan Out-of-Doors Youth Camp at the
MUCC’s Youth Camp is held at the Cedar Lake Outdoor Center
near Chelsea in southeast Michigan.
Summer 2015
SCI–Novi Chapter will provide all-expense paid scholarships for
up to eighty boys and girls ages 8-15, as of August 1, 2015.
The RWYC program is created and sponsored by SCI-Novi Chapter, as a
result of a generous donation from the Riley Foundation, whose founder is
George F. Riley (SCI-Novi Chapter Member and SCI Life Member).
