ACCOMMODATIONS
Rustic wood cabins each have overhead
electric lighting and are furnished with
at least one double and one single bed.
Large cabins accommodate up to six
campers. Bedding or linens are not
provided. Although cabins are not
heated, campers stay comfortable even
if temperatures drop into the 40’s, as
long as plenty of warm clothing and
bedding are packed for the trip. Cabins
do not have running water. Modern
lavatory buildings provide showers
with plenty of hot water and wall outlets for electric razors and hair dryers.
Cabins are 25 -100 feet from bathroom facilities. Grandparents and their
grandchildren will share a cabin.
Camp Sacramento is in the Eldorado
National Forest along Highway 50, just
18 miles west of Lake Tahoe. At an elevation of 6,500 feet, the tall pines,
clear blue sky, and meandering river
provide a scenic setting that offers a
wonderful way to relax in the mountains. For photos and more information
about Camp Sacramento, go to

GRAND CAMP
ACTIVITIES
This summer before the grandkids
head back to school, wouldn’t it be nice
to scoop them up and head out for a
few days of fun? But, where do you go
and what do you do once you get
there? No worries, we have just the
place and lots of ideas for how grandparents and their grandkids can have
fun together! Come spend five enjoyable, memory-making days in The
Sierras at Camp Sacramento’s Grand
Camp.
Here’s a sampling of offered activities:
Studies show the importance of
exposing kids to nature throughout
their childhoods and the value of time
away from electronic devices that fill
their everyday lives. Experience the
wonder of nature alongside your
grandkids and leave the meals, lodging
and activities to us! Each day will
include joint activities for grandparents
and their grandkids, as well as
structured kid-only activities led by
camp staff. There will also be plenty of
opportunity for you to relax on your
own or join in special programs
designed specifically for our adult
campers. You may even want to head
out with the kids for a day of adventure in The Sierras (paddle boating on
Lake Tahoe, perhaps?); we’ll pack a
lunch for you to take along! How can
you go wrong with sun, fun, fresh air
and quality time making memories to
last a lifetime? Pack up the grandkids
and we’ll see you at Grand Camp!

HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS
Although Grand Camp is not meant to
be excessively strenuous, it may be
taxing for those with medical
limitations. Please be aware that Camp
Sacramento has an elevation of 6,500
feet and is not recommended for
campers with health issues affected by
high elevation and uneven terrain. No
medical personnel will be on site.
There is a nurse “on call’ during the
week. If a camper decides to leave
camp for any non-emergency reason
(e.g. minor injury/illness, cold
weather), he or she will be
responsible for making arrangements
for transportation home. No refunds
will be given in these situations. In
medical emergencies, camp staff will
arrange for transportation to a local
medical facility and all costs will be the
responsibility of the camper.
SPECIAL DIETS
Several options are available for each
meal served at Camp Sacramento, including vegetarian. Special diets can
also be accommodated, provided we
receive the request at least two weeks
prior to camp.
