PELLETIZED PRODUCTS
Pelletized
Products
The Andersons pelletized products are
manufactured from natural, high quality calcitic
or dolomitic limestones and gypsum that are
pulverized to a flour-like powder, then granulated
into fertilizer-sized, moisture dissolvable granules.

Enhanced particle distribution results in
improved coverage and efficacy.
Our unique offering of soil amendment
products combine soil conditioning agents
with our Dispersing Granule (DG) technology.
DG technology creates a dust-free, spherical,
ultra dry particle that rapidly disperses upon
contact with water, creating thousands of
microparticles, resulting in improved coverage
and solubility.

What causes acidic soils?
• Applying acid-forming fertilizers
• Decomposing crop residue and organic
matter
• Crop removal of calcium and magnesium
The use of ammonia nitrogen fertilizer
(including UAN) is the leading cause of soil
acidity.
How are acidic soils measured?
By a pH test. The pH scale covers a range
from 0 to 14. A pH value of 7 is neutral.
Acidic
Neutral
How do acidic soils reduce yield?
• Reduces nutrient availability
• Increases trace element toxicity
• Reduces nitrogen fixation in legume
crops
• Reduces certain herbicides’ effectiveness

What Determines Limestone
Effectiveness?
Calcium Carbonate Equivalent (CCE)
CCE is the measure of the acid
neutralizing capacity of a limestone.
Our NutraLime products are made
from high analysis limestone sources
with high CCEs. That means greater
neutralizing power per pound.
Particle Size
Size determines the speed of acid
neutralization in soils. The finer the
grind, the faster and more effective
the limestone. NutraLime is microground so that a majority of particles
pass through a 100 mesh screen before
pelletizing.

NutraLime DG vs. Conventional Ag Lime
NutraLime DG
NutraLime DG is processed to have
uniform size. It is an excellent tool
for flattening out the pH curve while
maximizing yields and profits.
Conventional Ag Lime
Conventional ag lime is generally applied at a rate
of 2.5 tons per acre once every six years. Because
the size of ag lime particles is not uniform, more
ag lime must be applied to adjust the soil pH
within a year or two. The larger particles persist
Hydrogen ions released from ammonia in the soil for years before providing a benefit;
fertilizers lower soil pH. It takes about yet, in some years, due to wide variations in

• Deficiencies occur most often in acidic, sandy soils from
which calcium leaches via rain or irrigation
• Helps balance organic acids within the plant
• Activates several plant enzyme systems
• Helps form the compounds that make up part of cell
walls
• Build yields indirectly by improving root growth
conditions and stimulating microbial activity
• Helps enable N-fixing bacteria to capture atmospheric N
gas and convert it into a form plants can use
• Stimulates root and leaf development
• Affects uptake and activity of other nutrients

Tune Up Your Soil®
NutraSoft DG is a high quality material mined from natural deposits. It is ground to a
flour-like powder, then granulated into moisture dissolvable pellets. On contact with
moisture, the pellets dissolve and release calcium and sulfur into the soil.
