Our Smarter Cities Model draws heavily from
the UN Habitat Model in philosophy and content
Our Smarter Cities Model draws heavily upon
the European-wide Smart Cities Initiative in structure
The Digital Agenda of the European Commission promotes Smart Cities
as a strategy for a flourishing Digital Economy by 2020
http://www.smartcities.info/europe-presents-digital-agenda
Thus, we are delighted to have the European Chamber of Commerce as a
Strategic Partner, to help us learn from Europe’s best practices
The European Smart Cities Model has 6 dimensions which
work together; a city normally focuses on 3 to 4 and
devises programs to achieve excellence in those dimensions
Smart Cities have 6 main dimensions
(also called axes or characteristics),
which work together to produce a
holistic synergy.
Barcelona focused mainly on 4
dimensions to build its Smart City
strategy, action plans and programs.
The idea is to attain excellence in all
chosen dimensions.
The Six Dimensions of a Smarter City
Smarter Cities have 6 dimensions, which synergize to yield a high quality of life
and sustainable and inclusive development.
The city’s leaders and citizens normally choose 3 to 4 of these dimensions in their
Smarter City Road Map and define programs for each dimension, aimed at
achieving excellence in these Key Results Areas.
The European Smart City Benchmarking System
enables each city to assess its strengths and uncover
systemic weaknesses hindering its growth. Undergoing
the assessment then arms each city with strategic
insight to create its Smart City Road Map, action plans
and programs.
