I wish all the success to the Rajputana Samaj’s New Executive Body. The
purpose to constitute this samaj was to celebrate the spirit of Rajputana culture and
traditions which we are an integral part of our lives. The traditions and the way we
celebrate them, the little things associated with them which gives us prominence
and differentiation from other communities. Right from the age eternal and even in
Ramayana The Lord ‘SHRIRAM’ himself had laid a lot of stress on traditions and
his ‘Kula’ and it will not be out of place to mention here that even before breaking
the ‘Dhanush’ for Sita Swayamvar, the Lord before remembering Lord Shiva had
sought the blessings of his ancesters. This highlights the importance and
relevance of traditions and kula in our lives as before anything we are identified
with the Kul in which we are born. The Rajasthan Rajputana Samaj is also
endeavouring for the same and with active participation we all must contribute in
whatever little ways we can to keep our traditions alive.
The meetings of the samaj are held periodically which provide an excellent
opportunity to all to bond with each other and other social activities. I would
conclude with that in the ever changing world where the barriers are being broken
we all should not loose touch with our roots and remaining in touch with our roots
doesnot always mean that we remain in the villages and not progress in our lives.
The activities of the samaj does provide us an opportunity to re-live Rajasthan right
here in Delhi, all you need is the spirit in your inner self. I wish all the success to the
New Executive committee and hope that they will do a fabolous job and would
achieve what the previous Executive Body’s couldn’t.
