They are brilliant books about mysteries and adventures. The Harry Potter films There will be lots of secrets, problems, and mystery solving. Hello guys! Today I am talking about movies that I like the most. They The Famous Five are a wonderful team that can solve any mystery, but sometimes they need help from their closest friend Timmy. Timmy is a dog and his owner is George and her cousins are Julien, Anne, and Dick. The Fives face lots of dangerous mysteries and have lots of fun at the same time. When you read the Famous Five it makes you desperate to help them. Read the Famous Five! are the HARRY POTTER movies!!!!! The reason why I like this is because the story is very interesting and things happen suddenly. And it made you get very excited and a little bit scary and children age 9+ can watch it. There are 8 in the series: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Harry Potter and the Prisoner of the Azkaban Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review by Kanlaya Plaekchangweet (Fern), Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix Year5 Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Captain Underpants, by Dav Pilkey There is music of course. There is amazing sound effect and every thing look real and it made you think that you are in the movie. We like this book because it is funny. Captain Underpants is the Review by Wasin Kanathong (Robin), Year 5 main character, he is the principal (his name: Mr. Krupp) of this story. There are 2 kids they are called George and Harold, they are really great at making pranks and trouble. If you start reading this book there will be a short comic at the end, it says: If you put water on Mr Krupps’s head he would turn into you know who. Melvin is really smart and builds inventions. Melvin doesn’t like George and Harold because they mess with his inventions. In the 8th novel, George and Harold went in to Melvin’s machine. You should read this book because it is really funny. Review by Pornpong Arunrat (Bento), Year 3 Images: www.harrypotter.wikia.com; www.ebay.com ; www.wikipedia.org February 2015 - 3 Fiction stories from our students!! The Life of the witch Desert, The mysteries of the secret book, by Emma Letho by Zlata Petrenko (punctuation and spelling edited by C. Colson) (I got this idea from the book ‘Poison Pages’, by Michel Dahl) Once upon a time there was a dark house with the silly road and behind the silly road, there was a black cat with a black black eye and very scary nails from the witch. Her name is Desert. She is the oldest girl in the world of the witches’ land, and her little sister is called the Ewo. She likes to eat people even her father and her mother. It was Ewo’s birthday and her grandma and her grandpa give her the present, and after Ewo hides in the kitchen and she eats all of her cake and when she finishes all of the cake she ran to her grandma and her grandpa: ‘bye-bye’, and she pushes her grandma and her grandpa out of her house, and after she was happy. The book has a secret language. Its pages have cracked the code of life. The book is a killer. It has secret powers and they have been set free. A boy walks down the street. He sees the book, he picks it up. On the front cover, there are three words: ‘The lost readers’. Suddenly, a strange light shines from it. The boy is no longer standing in the street, he is standing on a cold paper floor. He sees strange, red symbols on the ground. “Letters”, he says to himself. He is inside the book .It looks like the letters are flowing in a red, hot, lava stream. Suddenly he sees a figure of a man. The man doesn’t move. The Skeletons who danced all He walks towards the man, now he sees thick strips of solid lava night, by Laura Kans with thick strips of solid lava wrapped around them too. Then he wrapped around him. Now he sees other shapes of men and women figures out what the letters are made of: LAVA INK!!! (Punctuation and spelling edited by C. Colson) In the town, there was a skeleton house, and in the dark dark house there were three skeletons. A skeleton came to the front The book traps everyone who doesn’t get past the book monster, lots of people because they stepped on one of the letters. The monster is part book / part crocodile / part squid. It has razor door. The people said wait. He knocked on the door. Knock sharp claws and teeth. It can shoot jets of ink. It blinds people and knock. The three Skeletons went downstairs. And then they open waits until they step on one of the letters. Then the boy sees the the door and surprise!!!!!!. It was Uncle ! And they hugged Uncle skeleton. In the skeleton house the four people went upstairs. Then a knock on the door went again and they went downstairs. They opened the door and there were people. It was party time! Everybody danced. There was a knock on the door again and everybody stopped dancing. And they say: ‘how is that’? They opened the door, and one put the knife in the door. Because now, nobody wants to answer the door. Then they came in, they touched monster: it sprays ink! The boy ducks. It sprays again. Then the boy sees a shadow over him. The page is turning. The monster chases the boy over the edge of the book. Suddenly, the boy is standing in the street holding the book open. He doesn’t understand what happened. He walks home. At home, his mother asks why he is late. ’I read a book on the way home’, the boy says. Then he walks upstairs. He opens the book again. On the front page he sees the monster that attacked him. The boy throws the book out of the window. Now, it lies open in the street waiting for the next person to open it… everything, and then he opened the music, and then he was everybody 4 - February 2015 dancing and danced too.
