Radio Update
Lansing Progress
A series of meetings were held in various Lansing locations, during May, June and July, in order to
discuss the steps required to make Catholic Radio a reality in the Lansing metro area.
A number of Lansing residents, as well as representatives of Jackson’s Good Shepherd Catholic
Radio, and representatives of Ann Arbor’s Ave Maria Radio also attended.
These meetings resulted in the formation of a core group, who will begin holding additional meetings
to encourage others to:
o Pray for the success of bringing Catholic Radio to Lansing
o GROW this core group (from a dozen to 50 to 100 to 300)
o Listen to Catholic Radio – Via stream & smart phone app’s
o Establish Parish reps who will contact their pastors for permission to place meeting
announcements in the local bulletins.
o Plan and schedule future meetings

Meet Our New Board Members
Tony Shaughnessy - Born and raised in
Phillip Berkermeier - Born and raised in
Jackson, Tony attended St. John Elementary School
and graduated from Lumen Christi High School.
After graduating from Spring Arbor College, he
taught Religion and Science at Jackson Catholic
Middle School before moving on to be the Director
of Religious Education at Queen of the Miraculous
Medal Parish. While at Queens, he obtained a
certificate in Theological Studies from Siena
Heights University , and then served as Principal of
the Jackson Catholic Middle School. He is currently
an Assistant Principal / Dean of Studies at Lumen
Christi. Tony is a member of The Knights of
Columbus Council 8392. He and his wife Kieran
are members of St. John the Evangelist Parish in
Jackson.
Jackson. I am a graduate of St. Mary High School and
graduated from the University of Dayton in 1972.
After service in the U.S. Army I attended the
University of Dayton School of Law and received my
Law Degree in 1977. I am a member of the State Bar
of Michigan, the Jackson County Bar Association, and
admitted to practice before all Michigan courts. My
wife, Mary, and I are the parents of nine children, and
are members of Queen of the Miraculous Medal
Parish. I have been extensively involved in the
Jackson community as a County Commissioner,
Kiwanian, Boy Scout troop leader, and City
Recreation Department coach. I have also served on
the boards of Diocese of Lansing, the Jackson Human
Relations Commission and Jackson County Airport,
as well as a board member and past president of
Jackson Right to Life. I am excited to be a member of
the board and I see Catholic Radio as having
unlimited potential for the evangelization and building
up of the faith community.

Vehicle Donations Program
HELP WANTED - Volunteer Positions
Good Shepherd Catholic Radio has partnered with
Vehicles for Charity, another nonprofit organization,
to process donated vehicles. Please call
1-866-628-2277 to donate your vehicle today. You
can donate almost any vehicle, including cars,
trucks, boats, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, and
they do not have to be currently running. Good
Shepherd Catholic Radio will receive 70% of the
proceeds from your vehicle donation. All you need
to donate a vehicle is a clear title in your name, the
vehicle keys, and information about where the
vehicle is located and the condition of the vehicle.

Note: GSCR has been the recipient of over
$1300 during the brief period of time that we
have been associated with this program.
Good Shepherd Radio is growing nationally and
internationally . Most importantly, it is flourishing in
Jackson and efforts are underway in Lansing.
If you would like to be a part of our Catholic Radio
Apostolate, please consider joining us as a volunteer in
these areas of opportunity:
