We have a number of staff absent with it. Please remember to keep your child at home if they show any symptoms as we try not to spread the infec9on amongst our school community members. The staff who are sick with the WEBSITE www.maryborospecs.eq.edu.au virus had students in their class who came to school unwell and have passed it onto their teachers. Next Monday some of our students are performing at the Brolga Theatre for the CALENDAR OF EVENTS Eisteddfod. These students are the members of our Hip Hop Dance group and have been prac9cing well. Their teacher Rose is very pleased with how they have progressed. We wish them well for their event and I’m sure they will do us proud. 16th May Eisteddfod for Hip Hop group 16 - 18th May Dukes Camp Leaving on Monday is the very excited group of students who are off to the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme camp. Luckily the weather isn’t too cold so they should have a wonderful experience. It is a fabulous camp and teaches the students many life skills as well as keeping them fit and healthy with bike riding they will be doing. You can expect to have a very 9red child arrive home on the 18th, full of stories of what they did whilst on camp. 20th May Show Holiday 26-29th October Noosa Triathlon Remember Friday week 20th May is the Show holiday. EYP - JOSEY We have started reading ‘The Gingerbread Man!’ MSD - CARMEN We are sequencing numbers on number lines - Yay! MSM - IAN Mc This week we learnt to make knots. MSMP - PAM We are looking aDer self - being clean. MSR - KELLY Our class is loving the bike track each week. TUCKSHOP NEWS Every week Colleen and at least 4 senior students work very hard to make delicious lunches for both staff and students from Tuckshop. Ian Johannesen SSMB - KYM/MICHELLE This week we have been talking about emus. SSH - IAIN H We have been tackling the caterpillars in the tomato garden. SSJ - IAN J We are helping Rose to make a our banner for the Fraser Coast Show. SSW - JANE We have been revisi9ng our school rules & working on our behaviours which con9nue to improve everyday. TRN - RAE Some of the students are cooking for Fraser Coast Show & geEng ready for camp next week. TRT - TANYA Students are doing some wonderful baking for the Show & for Dukes camp. TRW - JENNY We are busy preparing for our “Dukes” camp. COMMUNITY NEWS ARTS NEWS Eisteddfod group “Inclusivity” are prac9sing hard for their Hip Hop appearance on Monday 16th May at the Brolga Theatre. We would love to see some support from parents/carers on the day. Start 9me is 1pm. Thank you! Rose Wright OTHER NEWS Snack Shop Snack shop operates Tuesday mornings with basic snacks available for purchase from the Tuckshop from 10.00 to 10.30am. Please note that there wont be any snack shop next Tuesday due to camp. Tanya Trusco DUKE of ED NEWS All students are full into prepara9on for camp next week. Deb Campbell COMMUNITY NEWS Educa:onal Tour of Materials Recovery Facility SSH & MSD classes recently did a tour of the Council’s Material Recovery Facility to see first-hand where kerbside recycling goes to be sorted as well as learn the importance of waste minimisa9on and how to recycle on the Fraser Coast. The tour also incorporated the Fraser Coast Recycling Centre to get the big picture and see what other recycling opportuni9es are available to residents. 4th may 2016 MSD showing their Mother’s Day crea:ons and Chloe celebra:ng her birthday with a delicious cake!
