This month’s CONTEST: BIG RIGS
Ed Isnardi Takes the Checkered Flag
in First Annual Dan Rhein Memorial
Race Night…
Congratulations to Ed on a well-deserved win in the First
Annual Dan Rhein Memorial Race Night contest. There was
a great turn-out and member participation. The display set
up by Ed and the guys should also be mentioned as it was a
fitting tribute to Dan.

Idle Thoughts by John Stark III
I must apologize to Bob for taking so long to get this out to
him, I usually wait till the beginning of the month to type and
send it out but the Summernationals put me a little behind.
I'm at the track daily from Thursday to Sunday night manning
the firetruck up at the safety net, we had a very safe race this
year. That makes it very good for us, nothing beats getting
paid to sit there. That means everybody had a safe weekend.
I got to meet up again with Angelle Sampey, she has not
been around for a few years now, but she is back. When I
used to work the ambulance at the starting line she used to sit
in the ambulance with me and b/s until it was her time to run.
This year when she saw me at the turn around she locked her
brakes up and told me she was wondering where I was,
because she did not see me up at the line. I was amazed that
she still remembered me.
We have a great crew up at the net with the turnaround crew
and the NHRA truck 3 crew. We always try to have a fun
weekend.
I have been in a build funk lately, I'm trying to get into the
model room to work on things but I can't seem to get in the
building mood. The last thing I worked on was the Todd
Tribute Mustang build. That was done before the NNL East.
Hopefully it will turn around and I'll get into the groove again.
NOMINATIONS - Remember this month is the nomination of
officers. If you would like to run for an office or you would like
to nominate someone for office this is the month to do it.
I have held the President spot for the past ten years and have
always had a blast doing it, but if any of you out there would
like to give it a shot, now is your chance.

RACE NIGHT IN MEMORY OF DAN RHEIN - We had a
great turnout for stock car night, which is always good to see,
I never got a count of the models on display, but it looked
pretty good. For our first annual Dan Rhein award we had four
cars in the running, I know this will improve as the event gains
a little ground. This being the first one, the voting was very
close, but the award went to Ed Isnardi, all the voters have
good taste, I could not have chosen a better model or builder
to win the first ever award. Congratulations to Larry Housman,
John Stark, Nick Marcigliano and Ed Isnardi for entering and
to Ed on his win.
QUARTERLY CONTEST - Reminder, BIG RIGS are the
quarterly contest this month, the rest of Junes themes stay
the same, we are adding the contest this month.
Along those lines I have told Dan Hogan that I am postponing
my dry brushing seminar, it is just too hard to run the meeting,
contests, raffles, member issues, etc. and find the time to do
a seminar. If anyone has a skill they would like to share with
the members please see Dan at the meeting and let him
know.
Honorable mentions, Mike Capasso had one of his fine truck
builds on the Scale Auto Online site from the NNL
Joe Cirillo received an award from his school that was filmed
and posted online. For those who don't know him, Joe is our
junior member and a great kid, enthusiastic model builder, as
well as a junior dragster pilot.
Congratulations to both of you
TWO DOWN - As you know we are losing 2 more hobby
stores in the state, Bob's Hobbies in Pitman is shutting down

Avenel Hobbies is shutting down July 31st, Randy has said
that the competition form Michael's, Hobby Lobby and others
being able to sell kits cheaper than he can get them for is one
of the reasons. You guys know it as well as I do, if you don't
support your local hobby shops they go away, the internet is
nice but when you need something right now, it sure is nice to
have a hobby shop nearby. Well we are losing two of those
now.
CONDOLENCES - On a sad note the club wishes to convey
our condolences to Guy Wright and his family on the passing
of his wife, our prayers go out to the entire Wright family.
KIT RAFFLE - We had five pulls in our kit raffle this month
and the winners were Brian Lash, Steve Rehberger (twice)
Dave Wood and a special pull for a Jeremy Mayfield die cast
that was donated by Al Meske was won by Al Brodsky
RANT - I have one other thing to mention and it is
something I have brought up many times in the past and
that is being courteous and quiet during meetings. I try to
get thru the meeting portion as quickly as possible, and I
think myself, the officers and other members deserve to
hear what is being said. I cannot tell you how many times
after a meeting someone comes up to me and asks me a
question about something that was already answered
during the meeting. If you have something that is that
important to talk about during the meeting then take it
outside, your fellow club members may actually want to
hear what is being said during the meeting, and you are
not being considerate of them.
That is it for me for now, summers here, vacations are
starting, time to enjoy some of the great outdoors, but when
you can, build something and keep in mind,
REMEMBER IT'S A HOBBY, KEEP IT FUN
Final Closing Sale
Newsletter Rundown by Bob Kern
Wow! It’s June already? Where has the time gone? I know
everyone will be wanting to get out and enjoy this fantastic
weather we have been having. I don’t blame anyone. I just
hope that everyone takes a few minutes to read and enjoy
this month’s newsletter. A lot of time and effort goes into it
by a number of your fellow club members. As I always
preach please take the time to say thanks especially if you
enjoyed their contributions to this month’s newsletter.
Felix has been a consistence presence each and every
month with his very interesting articles in his “Did you know?”
features. Pete continues sending us various articles each
month that keep things very interesting. I hope you follow
along with Pete both in the newsletter and online on the
JSMCC Message Board. Chuck not only provides most of
the pictures you see each month throughout the newsletter
but he also is a regular contributor with his tips and tricks,
Model Show reviews and recaps and stories on various
modelling subjects. We are still hopeful that you guys (and
you know who you are) will find some time to submit some
articles, reviews tips of your own. Also we would like to
thank Dan Hogan for all his efforts with the Clinic Corner and
Tip Talk.
I am also still very hopeful that we will see a new feature for
and from the truck guys. We have a bunch of Truck builders
and I am sure they have a lot to offer their fellow club
members. I was approached by one of the truck guys back
in December about adding a monthly truck column and I will
be glad to make the room for whatever any of you send in to
us.
Again! Remember if you enjoy reading this newsletter from
month to month be sure to take a minute out at one of the
meeting and say “Thanks” to the guys that take their time out
to submit stories, reviews, pictures etc. each month. It’s the
least we can do.
Don’t forget, this is your club and your newsletter and it can
only remain fun, interesting and enjoyable with your help and
contributions. So review a kit you just built, if you attend a
show take some pictures, send them to us and tell us about
the show. You get the idea.

Did you know??
By Felix Plaza Jr, for JSMCC
Pontiac Bonneville
The Pontiac Bonneville is a full-size automobile which was
built by the Pontiac division of General Motors from 1957 to
2005. It was introduced as a limited production performance
convertible during the 1957 model year. The Bonneville
(known as the Parisienne in Canada until 1981), and its
platform partner, the Grand Ville, are some of the largest
Pontiacs ever built; in station wagon body styles they
reached just over 19 feet (5.8 m) long, and were also some
of the heaviest cars produced at the time (2.5 short tons,
5,000 lb or 2,300 kg).
1957 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Bonneville Convertible
Early development: 1954–1957
The Bonneville name first appeared in 1954 on a pair of
bubble-topped GM Motorama concept cars called the
Bonneville Special. It entered the production lineup as a
high-performance, fuel-injected luxury convertible within the
Star Chief line in the 1957 model year and was loaded with
every conceivable option as standard equipment with the
exception of optional air conditioning and continental kit,
This put the Bonneville in a Cadillac-like price range of
$5,782.00 - more than double the base price of a Chieftain
four-door sedan. A fully equipped Bonneville could cost
more than a Cadillac. Only 630 units were produced that
first year, making it one of the most collectible Pontiacs of
all time. The following year it would become its own
separate model, and it would endure until 2005 as the
division's top-of-the-line model. The name was taken from
the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, the site of much early auto
racing and most of the world's land speed record runs,
which was named in turn after U.S. Army officer Benjamin
Bonneville.
1958 Pontiac Bonneville First Generation
First Generation 1958
Bonneville became a separate model in 1958, available as
a two-door hardtop or a convertible. It paced the
Indianapolis 500 in its first year. As a separate model
Bonneville had a significantly lower price tag of around
$3,000 thanks to the demotion of most of the luxury items
found on the 1957 Star Chief body-style from standard
equipment to the option list. Also a 300 horsepower
(220 kW) 370 cubic inches (6,100 cc) V8 with four-barrel
carburetor and dual exhausts was now standard equipment.
The fuel-injection system offered with the standard engine
on the 1957 Star Chief body-style was now listed as an
extra cost option but very few 1958 Bonnevilles were so
equipped due to a towering price tag of over $500 USD,
which was not considered a very good value considering
that for less than $100 USD, a Tri-Power option was
available with three two-barrel carburetors and even more
power. The electric clock was standard.

Second Generation 1959–1960
In its third year, the 1959 Bonneville became a full top-line
series with the addition of the four-door hardtop sedan and
Safari station wagon body styles. The Bonneville played an
important part that year in the introduction of two of
Pontiac's greatest marketing inspirations — the split grille
and the Wide Track slogan. The latter was not just ad copy,
either, as Pontiac pushed its wheels further out toward the
fenders than anyone else and created what were
considered to be the best-cornering full-size cars in the
industry. Both the grille design and the Wide Track phrase
remained part of Pontiac's image up to its termination. A
"Safe-T-Track" differential, used to minimize wheel spin,
was an option beginning in 1959.
Morrokide in Safari wagons or genuine leather seating in
convertibles. Bonnevilles (with the exception of Bonneville
Safari Station wagons) were also (along with Star Chiefs)
built on a longer wheelbase version of GM's B-Body. Also
found in the Bonneville were instrument panels and door
panels with walnut veneer trim, carpeted lower door panels,
grab bar on passenger side of dash and courtesy lights and
rear arm rest. Beginning in 1964, a Bonneville Brougham
option package was available that included an even more
luxurious interior trim level with front and rear seats
featuring center armrests, upgraded door panels and a
standard Cordova (vinyl) roof with "Brougham" nameplates.
The two-door hardtop was marketed as the "Sports Coupe",
the four door pillar-less models were called "Vistas".
1962 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible Gen 3
1966 Pontiac Bonneville 4-Door Hardtop Gen 4
Third Generation 1961-1964
Fourth Generation 1965-1970
The Bonneville remained as Pontiac's costliest and most
luxurious model throughout the 1960s and was instrumental
in pushing Pontiac to third place in sales from 1962 to 1970.
For 1965, All GM "B" body cars were dramatically restyled.
Swooping rooflines, rakish fender lines and the "Coke
bottle" profile contributed to making one of the most popular
body styles ever produced. The Bonneville got the new
styling, of course, with plenty of bright trim on the lower
body sides and on the rear deck. Inside, new upholstery
and instrumentation were featured. Drivetrains were pretty
much the same as 1964, except the Turbo Hydra-Matic
transmission quadrant, which now featured Reverse in
between Park and Neutral, instead of at the bottom of the
selections (below "L"), the old arrangement having been
sharply criticized as a safety hazard.
1963 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible Gen 3
The distinctive protruding grille made its appearance on all
Pontiac products during the early 1960s, and was a modern
revival of a similar appearance on Pontiac products during
the 1930s and early 1940s, as demonstrated on the Pontiac
Torpedo.
The Bonneville differed from its lesser Catalina and Star
Chief counter-parts by featuring more luxurious interior trim
with upgraded cloth and Morrokide vinyl or expanded

Fifth Generation 1971–1976
For 1971, the Bonneville was moved down in the model
hierarchy, as a new top line Grand Ville series was
introduced. In effect, it replaced the discontinued Executive
between the lower-priced Catalina and the Grand Ville. The
Bonneville was offered in three body styles, a pillared fourdoor sedan, four-door hardtop sedan and two-door hardtop
coupe. The standard engine for 1971-72 was a 455 cubicinch V8 with two-barrel carburetor that was rated at 280
gross horsepower for 1971 and 185 net horsepower for
1972 and optionally available was the four-barrel version of
the 455 rated at 325 gross horsepower in 1971 and 250 net
horsepower in 1972. The on-paper power ratings reflect the
change in power measurement undertaken by the industry
for 1972. 1971 was also the first year for Pontiac and other
GM divisions to reduce compression ratios on all engines
across the board in order to enable use of lower-octane
regular leaded, low-lead or unleaded gasoline, thanks to a
corporate edict in preparation for the introduction of
catalytic converters in 1975 to help meet increasing
stringent federal (and California) emission requirements.
In mid-1971, a Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, power
steering and power front-disc brakes became standard
equipment on Bonneville and other full-sized Pontiacs (as
well as other full-sized GM cars).
1978 Pontiac Bonneville Sedan Gen 6
The Safari was available in both 6 and 9-passenger
configurations and featured a dual-action tailgate that could
be opened to the side as a door or downward as a tailgate,
rather than the disappearing clamshell tailgates found in
1971-76 full-sized Pontiac wagons.
1983 Pontiac Bonneville Gen 7
Seventh Generation 1982–1986
The Bonneville nameplate didn't go anywhere following the
discontinuation of full-sized Pontiacs and instead was
simply swapped onto the midsized LeMans, which also
suffered from poor sales, thus GM planners reasoned that
attaching a more well-known model name to it would spark
demand. This model had been produced since 1978 along
with its siblings the Chevrolet Malibu, Oldsmobile Cutlass,
and Buick Century, and sported a Buick 231 cid V6,
Chevrolet 305 cid V8, or Oldsmobile 350 cid diesel V8. (A
Buick 4.1 liter V6 was available in 1982.) The 1982-1986
models were officially known as the "Bonneville Model G",
although later models were not badged as such. Styling
was revised to bear a closer resemblance to the departed
B-body Bonneville and coupes were dropped. GM also
began marketing the Bonneville in Canada for the first time
starting in 1984 (1982 and 1983 Canadian models carried
the Grand LeMans name), as GM's full-size Bonnevilles in
Canada were referred to as Parisienne.
Sixth Generation 1977–1981
Bonneville would continue its flagship duties on the
downsized big car line that was introduced for 1977. The
downsized Bonnevilles (and Catalinas) were 14 inches
(360 mm) shorter in length, over four inches (102 mm)
narrower and 800 pounds lighter compared to their 1976
counterparts but had increased headroom, rear seat
legroom and trunk space with much-improved fuel economy
– a major selling point in the years following the 1973-74
energy crisis.
With the downsized 1977 models, only a pillared four-door
sedan and two-door coupe (with optional opera windows)
were offered as the hardtop sedans and coupes offered in
previous years were discontinued across the board at all
GM divisions. The Bonneville also regained the Safari
station wagon as part of its model lineup for the first time
since 1970 with wood-grained exterior trim and interior
appointments shared with Bonneville coupes and sedans.

Eighth Generation 1987–1991
For 1987, the G-body Bonneville was dropped and replaced
by a new FWD car that was in fact the Pontiac version of
the one-year-old H Body platform with the Buick LeSabre
and Oldsmobile 88. Initially, a 150 hp (110 kW) 3.8 L V6
was the sole engine, mated to a 4 speed Hydramatic 4T60
automatic. The new Bonneville was placed on Car &
Driver's “10 Best” list for 1987, offering both a base model
and LE model. For LE models, an SE sport package was
also available that featured a quicker gear ratio, sportier
suspension and more standard features, as the Bonneville
was intended to have a more sporty, European flavor than
the LeSabre and 88.
1988
A host of trim level changes and a new engine became
standard for the front wheel drive Bonneville's second year.
First, a revised version of the LG3 was introduced.
Renamed the LN3, it was the first use of the "3800" name.
Featuring sequential-port fuel injection, the LN3 produced
165 hp (123 kW) and 210 lb·ft (285 N·m). Also new for
1988, the base model is dropped making LE the base
model. Two new models are added, the midlevel SE (went
from option package to trim) and line-topper SSE. The latter
features an extra deep rear valence, lower body cladding, a
digital compass/trip computer, an eight speaker premium
sound system and much more.
firsts, becoming quicker and considerably safer. One of the
most notable improvements over the previous generation
was that the Bonneville SE now came standard with a
driver airbag, while ABS was available as part of the sport
appearance package. The SSE models came with standard
ABS and traction control. The trims were redone once
again, the LE trim (which had standard 6-passenger
seating) was removed, the SE was now the base model
(the only model to offer 6-passenger seating as an option),
the SSE was now the mid-grade and a new top of the line
trim was now added, the SSEi. It should be noted,
according to GM's Pontiac division, these trim acronyms
have no implied meaning. The new N/A 3800 Series I
(RPO: L27) engine was used, producing 170 hp (127 kW)
and 225 lbf·ft (305 N·m), as well as the newly designed
force inducted Series I 3800 (RPO: L67) equipped with an
Eaton M62 roots type supercharger which made 205 hp
(153 kW) and 260 lbf·ft (350 N·m). The newly revised N/A
L27, for the 1992 model year only, was not equipped with
an EGR Valve, and can be distinguished by its white intake
manifold, as opposed to black from 1993 and on.
1989–1991
For 1989, a compact disc player became optional and in
1990 a remote keyless entry system was added to the
options list for all models. A facelift was made for the
Bonneville in the 1990 model year by changing the grille &
headlights. Suspension changes greeted the 1991 model
year.
Tenth Generation 2000–2005
The 2000 Bonneville was redesigned from the ground up
with significant advancements in design, engineering and
technology which Pontiac dubbed "luxury with attitude." The
Bonneville was now built on GM's G platform; however GM
chose to continue to refer to it as the H platform. Staying
true to Pontiac's Wide Track heritage it had the widest
overall track in its competitive class at 62.6 inches up front
and 62.1 inches (1,580 mm) in the rear. GM's StabiliTrak
stability control system was introduced on the top-of-theline supercharged SSEi model.
The Bonneville regained a V8 option on the GXP trim for
2004, its first since 1986, as a result of the discontinuation
of the Oldsmobile Aurora. This opened up a "hole" in the
GM lineup between Pontiac and Buick, allowing Pontiac to
expand upmarket somewhat. The engine is Cadillac's 4.6 L
(280 cu in) Northstar V8, producing 275 hp (205 kW),
300 lbf·ft (410 N·m) and giving 0 to 60 mph (0–97 km/h) in
6.5 seconds.
1993 Pontiac Bonneville Sedan Gen 9
Ninth Generation 1992–1999
In 1992, the interior and exterior of the car were completely
redesigned. This generation hosted quite a few Bonneville

A Book Review of Thomas Graham’s
MONOGRAM MODELS
by Pete Linszky
2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP Gen 10
For the last year of production, Pontiac gave the mid-level
SLE the new GXP styling. The 2005 SLE featured all GXP
styling cues, except the wheels, badging, muffler tips and
engine all remained unique to the GXP.
Discontinuation
GM announced on February 8, 2005, that the Bonneville
would be dropped from Pontiac's lineup for 2006. The last
Bonneville left the assembly line on May 27, 2005. Only
about 12,000 Bonnevilles were sold in 2005. With more
than half of Pontiac dealers also selling Buick models, the
Buick Lucerne (along with the Chevrolet Impala and Pontiac
Grand Prix) continued as GM's only mainstream full-size
cars until the introduction of the 2008 G8.

The set sells for about $ 8. , and consists of six red plastic
pieces that snap together to form three different sized
sanding grips for multiple sanding purposes. The large grip
is for large flat surfaces, the medium grip is for smaller
surfaces and the small grip is for tight corners, hard to reach
places and smaller surfaces.
Revell Pinewood Derby
Sandpaper Grip Set
By Chuck Rehberger
The set also comes with two swatches of 3M double faced
tape. Install the desired grit sandpaper to the bottom side of
the grips. You can use any double sided tape to hold the
sandpaper to the grips or use adhesive backed sandpaper.
Sandpaper is not included.
Just insert the handle on the back of the grip, cut a piece of
sandpaper to fit and use the double-sided tape included to
attach it to the grip.
A few months back I was in an arts and craft store and saw
something new for model builders, a sandpaper grip set.
This particular one was in the Pinewood Derby section of the
hobby department. It was made by Revell and was part of
their Pinewood Derby accessories line, officially licensed by
the Boy Scouts of America. The Revell Pinewood Derby
Sandpaper Grip Set allows you to perform the perfect
sanding job on your new Pinewood Derby Racer or model
kit.
For easier sanding and smoother results, this tool is perfect
for hard-to-reach areas. Getting a mirror-smooth finish on
your Pinewood Derby car requires smooth, level surfaces,
free of high spots and dips, and with small, medium and
large grips, this tool lets you do a total job, from the smallest,
tightest corners to the largest open areas. A mirror-smooth
finish on your car requires smooth, level surfaces, free of
high spots and dips.

Revell recommends using a light, firm touch when you sand.
Using a lot of muscle may get you done faster, but won’t get
you the pro-style finish you want! Revell says this sandpaper
grip set is suitable for ages 8& older, and it is not for children
under 3 years due to a small parts choking hazard. I’m
surprised that Revell didn’t market this better to the model
car builders.
What I like about it is that when I sand Squadron Putty it
clogs the sanding stick fast. By sanding it with 220 wet/dry
paper, it still clogs, but it can be easily cleaned with water
and air dried. It will save you money on buying not as many
sanding sticks. It can also sand a bigger area than the
sanding sticks and also sand tighter areas where you can’t
use a sanding stick. I will also use one to sand down tire
treads when using a Dremel tool to spin the tire for sanding.
Even if you don’t want to spend or have $8 for three sanding
pads… you could make your own out of scraps of Evergreen
Plastic.

collection. Two will replicate Foose’s real-world car designs,
complete with original tooling, for the first time ever in the
scale plastic model marketplace. The other four will be reissues of earlier Revell model kits that will be Foose-ified
with Chip’s personal design modifications.
Revell’s first ever pre-decorated model glue kits featuring
Foose designs, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette C7 and Dodge
Challenger SRT8, will be released in Q4 2015. They will
feature Foose-created paint schemes, wheel designs and
special Foose renderings used only on the Revell box art.
The two exclusive Foose cars will be selected by Foose
fans and Foose himself from a list of six Foose
masterpieces: his 1934 Ford Mercury-inspired “Stallion”,
1935 “Grand Master” Chevy Master Sedan, 1936
“Impression” Ford based roadster, 1965 “Impostor” Impala,
1956 Ford F100 pickup and Hemisfear custom supercar
coupe. Collectively, the six candidates have won six major
industry awards, including the prestigious Detroit Autorama
Ridler award and America’s Most Beautiful Roadster
(AMBR) award. Voting will open on the Revell and Foose
social media sites in June 2015.

The series will include full glue and paint model kits as well
as Revell’s first Foose pre-decorated glue kits. It will be
released over a three-year period.
“Chip Foose is an icon in the custom car world and admired
by every car enthusiast, including our customers. Being
able to work on his cars through our kits gives builders an
up close look at the details of Chip’s designs,” said Lou
Aguilera, Revell VP and General Manager. “Our new Foose
kits will give both the casual model builder and hard-core
enthusiast more opportunities to do that, ‘own’ their own
Chip Foose cars, and have the thrill of ‘building’ them just
as Chip does with his full-scale, one-of-a-kind vehicles.”
“I grew up making models, and it put me on the path to
being a car designer,” Foose said. “Partnering with Revell
lets me share the pleasure of both model building and
custom car design with others, including people who have
seen my work at car shows or on TV programs like
Overhaulin’. Revell’s model kits make it possible for anyone
to literally get their hands on the one of my car designs.”

As we have announced in several past issues of the
newsletter and at every meeting, the “Paper Bag Build”
Contest has officially kicked off. For those members that
may not know of the change in format, we're trying
something new this year. If you want to be in the contest
all you need to do is give us a kit and you’re in!
As explained previously, this is how it will work this year!
You donate a kit, it doesn't have to be sealed but it must
be complete so please check it before turning it in. I will
be collecting the kits up to and including August. The
contest is for the month of October so this gives the late
comers some time to build. At the August meeting I'll start
giving the kits out in a sealed paper bag. What you get is
what you build. John will also have a list of what kits we
have and who donated it. If you have any questions please
feel free to call me, text me, e-mail me or see me at a
meeting.
IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON PARTICIPATING
IN THIS YEARS PAPER BAG BUILD THEN BE
SURE TO SUBMIT A KIT VERY SOON AS THE
CONTEST KITS WILL BE GIVEN OUT AT THE
AUGUST MEETING!!!

The Clinic Corner
By Dan Hogan - Committee Chair
Looks like we should be able to get a seminar in this
month after all. Al Meske has graciously offered to do a
Window tinting demonstration. I am especially interested
in this subject as I have seen this on models before just
don’t know how to do it. Please make sure you take
some time out this month and give Al your attention.
Take a new/clean ice pop stick and cut it in half. Than cut a
short section from one half and glue it on top of the first half,
squarely (see Picture) this will be the stop fence. Now here's
where it gets technical so pay attention. Mark a line just off
the end of the fence, than mark another line a little further
down from the first line.
I received an email from Dave Wood offering an entry
for Tip Talk. Remember as I said at our last month’s
meeting, all of you have something of significance to
offer here. A new tool or a short cut to completing a step
in your building process, take a few minutes and send it
off to Bob.
Had some interesting builds this past month some
seemed like they came assembled, others had me
running for Advil. One in particular, got to the end,
touched a little glue, got in the paint, and well you know
the rest. My question is- anyone have a solution to this
problem other than covering it with a decal?
Also, anyone have good tips or techniques for attaching
the body to the chassis?
As always if you have something you would like to see
in the future or wish to present, just get with me and I
will put it on the agenda. Pass it on learn from one
another.
The technical part of this is that Spark Plug Boots come in
sizes from 3/4 of an inch (mostly for the Distributor cap) to 3
or 4 inches for the plug boot so mark your lines accordantly
to what you think looks right for that SB3F scale.
Until next time, thanks again. See you at this month’s
meeting. Be safe, keep building.
For the rivet counters you can take a 1/25th scale ruler and
try to find and mark a precise size but the point of this jig is
speed. Slide a piece of wire insulation that just fits over the
Spark plug Wire your using up to the fence stop and cut at
your mark. Quick and Easy!
