A Letter From Mike Collins, Lee Kimmell, Mac - Pro
A Letter From
Mike Collins, Lee Kimmell, Mac Spencer, and Dan Atwood
It's been 28 years since Pro-Line
put its first boat in the water. During
that time, a lot has changed in the
way boats arc designed, built and
used. We're proud of the fact that
during this time, Pro-Line has been at
the forefront of product development
and innm·;uive designs.
Nowhere is this more e\·ident than
with our all new 28l 0 Walkaround - a
boar that showcases todays thinking
in a sport fishing boat that crosses
over to a luxury weekend cru iser.
You'll also notice that all our 1997
models feature new graphics,
reflecting the decorum of today's
contemporary look.
We're in our third year uti lizing
F.l.S.T. construction, a hi-tech
hoar-building process that eli minates
wood and all the problems associated
with wood wnstruction. We 're
setting record level customer sen· icc
and satisfaction indexes, and more
of you arc recommending Pro-Lim~
to a friend than any other time in
uur history.
While this may say a lot for our
boats, it also says a lot for how we're
meeting the demanding needs of
today's recreational fisherman and
their families. From owners clubs,
to newsletters, fishing teams and
fishing tournaments, we're dedicated
to ensuring that your enjoyment
goes beyond a great day on the water.
We sec to it that you become part of
our family, and we want you to get
all the benefits that come with it.
We personally extend an
invitation for you to see the 1997
line of Pro-Line Boats at your
nearest dealer. If you're ever in
Crystal River, Florida, please visit
our facilities and we'll gtve you a
personal tour of the plant. You'll
discover why Pro-Line is the numher
one choice of America's fisherman.

"Pro. Line Construction .. A winning combination
of marine technology and salty traditions."
Each Pro-Line boat is a
combination of new advances in
mari ne technology and everything
we've learned during our 28 year
history. Design plays an integral part
of the construction process. We study
each model for the proper placement
of everything from fuel tanks to fish
boxes. All materials are chosen for
their strength-to-weight ratios and
for durability in the marine
environment.
Before a Pro-Line leaves the plant
it gets put through "The Hurricane",
just one more challenge in our
3 2-point plus system of analysis. If it
turns on or off, we ensure that it is
operational. And last of all, we look
over every inch of her to make sure
she'll carry on the Pro-Line tradition
of quality marine craftsmanship.
Everyone at Pro-Line takes
exceptional pride in their work.
That's why Pro-Line owners take
pride in their boats. They understand
that to bui ld a strong seaworthy boat
it takes knowledge acquired by
marine experience, quality materials
and craftsmanship, and a love for
boats and the sea.

"Each Pro.- Line Walkaround offers the features
and amenities of a much larger boat."
From the biggest hull on down ,
each Pro-Line Walkaround is designed
to offer you the features and amenities
of a much larger boat. The cabins are
fully dressed , offering you a choice
of the latest fabrics and colors. Wider
beams not only stabilize the ride
they make for roomier cabin
interiors with large V-berths.
Most mode ls come with
true, stand-up heads and
fu 11 galleys with
ample storage.
A Pro-Line
Walkaround is designed to
offer you true live aboard comfort.
Cross ventilation is designed in.
There's lots of storage. Interior
fabrics and surfaces are chosen to be
low maintenance and easy-to-clean.
Each Pro-Line is designed to be
every inch a rugged fishe rman and
every bit a ~tylbh, easily maintained
cruiser. Pro-Line Walkarounds have
deep, wide walks with molded-in,
non-skid runways. Pro-Line
Walkarounds also have high
freeboards and spacious cockpits just
loaded with full -s ize fish boxes ,
lure cabinets, storage, rod racks and
more. Select models offer a we ll
designed bait and tackle station. The
wraparound windshields protect a
broad, well designed helm area with
full instrumentation and plenty of
room for your electronics. A ll of the
clctails and more are designed
in, right down to a pair of
self-draining drink holders.
Take a good look at one of the
Pro-Line Walkarounds, you'll find
she's a smartly styled, quality built
fishing boat - top to bottom, inside
and out.
"'When we say, 'A Pro .. Line Sportsman
is built by fishermen for fishermen' .. we mean every word."
Earlier we told you about how
well a Pro-Line is built. Here's why
every Pro-Line fishes like a pro.
First there's getting to the fish. The
hull of your Pro-Line is designed to
respond. Deep-V's cut the chop
while wide reversed chines
direct the water flow back
and out. If it's a wet
surf~Ke we consider the
shape of every inch.
Hull designs arc
calculated to give each
boat the proper lift,
stabilization and positive
response to control.
Now get on a Pro,Line and look
around you. This is what you'll see -
fishing features are everywhere wash downs, cutting boards,
livewells, tackle drawers, fully
equipped bait stations, transom doors
and more - all designed, hoar by boat,
to be close at hand, ready to go.
Look at the cockpit - there's
lots of room no matter what
Pro-Line you choose.
Non-skid surfaces arc
molded into the deck.
All stainless steel
hardware is welded and
hackplated for rugged
off-shore conditions. Freeboard is
deep while protruding corners and
sharp surfaces are minimized true fishermen know hot acti on
calls for clean, tight lines.
Now the real test, open
up the fish boxes, if they're
big and deep they're on a
Pro-Line.
"Pro.. Line continues its partnership with
a quality engine manufacturer... Mercury Marine."
When it comes to setting the
standard for performance and
reliability, Mercury Marine and
Pro-Line have a lot in common.
For years, Mercury, Mariner and
Force have been dedicated to
offering the world's most
technologically advanced outboards.
Pro-Line and Mercury Marine have
again paired up to bring you power
packages that add up to one purely
untechnical thing: pleasu re.
Building on its industry-leading
array of 125 different models,
ranging from 2. 5 to 250 horsepower,
Mercury Marine con tinues to refine
its Mariner and Mercury outboard
lines for improved efficiency,
performance, serviceability and
styling in 1997.
New this year is the all new 200
DFI models (direct fue l injection).
They're a total departure in outboard
design. These engines offer fue l
savings of up to 80%, smoother
idle, quick reliable starts, and
virtually smoke free operation.
Utilizing state-of-the-art
technology and time-tested
corrosion resistance techniques
both inside and out, Mariner and
Mercu ry have quickly gained a
reputation as the premier names in
the demanding saltwater environment.
Mercury Marine's offshore
line-up ranges from our top- ranked
250-horsepower electronically
fuel-injected 3.0 Liter, down to its
four cylinder 115-horsepower entry
which, along with the 125- and
US-horsepower motors, are now
being offered with 25" shaft lengths
especially suited for big water usc.
With fuel-injected entries in the
250-, 225-, 200- and !50-horsepower
categories, and our all new 200 DFI,
Mercury and Mariner clearly lead
the technology revolution offshore.
If you're looking for a more
economical sou rce of power,
consider Force. Force outboards arc
bu ilt by Mercury Marine and offer
the value conscious boater excellent
all around performance at a very
affordable price.
Your Pro-Line dealer can help
you pick the right boat package for
your needs. Whichever engine you
choose, Mercury, Mariner or Force,
you can rest assured that your new
Pro-Line is powered by the most
dependable and best performing
marine power available.
