The purpose of the Eller Family Association is to draw all Ellers, regardless of their particular family line, and
allied families into a cooperative effort. We owe to the present generation and those of the future, this effort to
come together, explore and record our common roots and heritage.
The Eller Family Association bas already demonstrated that this approach is the quickest and most efficient
mechanism for sharing family history and genealogical information. A quarterly newsletter, The Eller Chronicles
is published and sent to each member in February, May, August and November. Information on Ellers in the
United States and Europe, from the 17th century to the current time is being gathered and made available.

This is the most comprehensive report on Eller family history and genealogy
since the 1957 book by James W. Hook on George Michael Eller. It is a massive,
beautifully bound black hardcover volume embossed in gold that contains 806 pages
in 8 1/2" x 11" format. The main thrust of the book deals with the family history
and genealogy of John Jacob Eller Sr who was born in the German Palatinate
between 1700 and 1720 and died in 1782 in Rowan County, North Carolina.
However, the first thirteen chapters of the book are devoted to topics of general
interest to Ellers of any lineage: pre-1800 Eller immigrants; kinship among early
Eller immigrants; variant surnames; early EUer immigrants: George Michael,
Henry, Christian, John Melchior, Jacob and John Jacob EUer; and three allied
families: Henckel (Henkel), Duffel (Biffle) and Gottge, Gottgen (Ketchey, Ketchie).
Also, several aspects of J. W. Hook's book on George Michael Eller are reviewed
and updated. The later and more substantial part of the book is devoted to the
descendants of John Jacob Eller Sr. It is the result of five years of research and
information contributed by many people. This section contains 16,374 people and
5536 families. Over 8500 of these people are descendants of Susannah "Sukey"
Eller, sometimes called the North Georgia Ellers. This massive and extensively
researched tome makes a wonderful heirloom for generations to come.

In 1880, after Olla and William
Green BISHOP had died, two of
their children, Emmy & Jesse,
were living with Joseph ELLER in
Jefferson Co., IL. Emmy married
Newton WEBB in Jefferson Co., IL
and became my grandmother's
grandmother.

Virginia Community Hospital after a long illness.
She was a native of Garfield, but had lived in Arlington since 1962. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Esko Ellison, Sr. and Louise Cowart Ellison.
Survivors: husband Robert S. Makinen; daughter, Michelle Makinen of Arlington, VA;
brothers, David Ellison of Garfield, Eugene Ellison ofMeldrim, and Esko Ellison, Jr. ofMillen;
and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral

Dana Point, California - Robert Edward Eller, 48, of Copper Lantern in Dana Point, formerly of
Osceola, Indiana died at South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach, California on Thursday,
Aug. 15, 2002. He was born on Dec. 9, 1953, in Indiana to Charles and Jackie Ann (Plummer)
Eller.
Survivors include his mother Mrs. Merle (Jacqueline) Neely of Osceola, two brothers, Gary Eller
of Osceola, and Steve (Kim) Eller ofNew Albany, his grandmother Edna Plummer ofElkhart,
and his nieces and nephews, Kari Longcor, Ashley Eller and Michael Eller. He was preceded in
death by his father and his daughter Jennifer Eller.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in
Osceola, where the services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Brian Beeks of Osceola
United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
