SUMMARY OF WORK
INTRODUCTION
I n mid-December a truck-mounted percussion drill w a s
m b i l i z e d t o t h e southern portion of t h e Sheba claims t o undertake
a three hole d r i l l i n g program.
The three d r i l l sites were located
along an old exploration road that leads w e s t t o t h e Highmnt ore
zone and south t o t h e New Minex property.
The purpose of t h e d r i l l i n g
program w a s t o t e s t mlybdenum anomalies known t o be associated with
fault and vein s t r u c t u r e s around t h e Gnawed m u n t a i n breccia zones.
E a r l i e r d r i l l i n g by b w a Mining, south and w e s t of t h e December d r i l l i n g
area, intersected s c a t t e r e d high mlybdenum values i n t h e upper portion
of t h e d r i l l holes.
Percussion drill holes S-78-1 and 2 were d r i l l e d along
a north-south f a u l t s t r u c t u r e t h a t cuts through Skeena granodiorites
some 300 m w e s t of t h e Skeena-Bethlehem rock contact. Hole S-78-1 i s
located 330 m north of d i m n d d r i l l hole S-72-7 wkich contained 15 m
of .21 MoS2 mineralization near t h e top of t h e hole. Hole S-78-2 w a s
d r i l l e d 274 m north of t h e first percussion hole and returned only
background copper-molybdenum values.
Similar values were encountered i n
hole S-78-3 which w a s s i t e d 365 m west-northwest of hole S-78-2. I n
t h e last 15
M
of t h i s hole t h e molybdenum values increase some f i v e
times above t h e h o l e ' s , average t o 0.015%,contained Mo.
The low values
returned i n the three percussion holes f u r t h e r l i m i t t h e molybdenum
porphyry p o s s i b i l i t i e s i n t h e southern portion of t h e Sheba claims.
LOWTION AND ACCESS
The Bethlehem mine property and t h e adjoining Sheba
claims are located i n t h e Highland Valley area, Kamloops Mining Division,
B r i t i s h Columbia.
The 81 claims of t h e Sheba property are bounded by
t h e Bethlehem, Lornex, New Minex and Highmont mining p r o p e r t i e s and can
be reached by bush mads f r o m a l l of t h e above properties.
- 2 -
Continued heavy snowfalls i n December necessitated
t h e ploughing of d r i l l access roads i n order t o mobilize a truck
mounted percussion r i g and a water truck.
The access t o t h e percussion
sites was provided by an o l d exploration road constructed by b w a
Mining w h i c h leads off t h e Lornex-Highmnt mine road.
The d r i l l i n g
sites w e r e located on t h e m a d thereby rraking drill s i t e construction
unnecessary.
.The d r i l l i n g r i g w a s mobilized t o t h e property December
1 9 and demobilized December 27.
Total cumulative d r i l l i n g w a s
277.4 m.
Water w a s obtained from a smll lake i n t h e immediate v i c i n i t y of t h e
d r i l l i n g and hauled t o t h e d r i l l sites by a water truck.
CLAIM STATUS
The Sheba property c o n s i s t s o f 8 1 full-sized and f r a c t i o n a l
mineral claims t h a t are owned by She& Copper Mines Limited of Vancouvcr,
B.C.
Bethlehem holds an option on these claims pursuant t o t h e terns < u i c l
conditions of an agreement dated J u l y 8, 1977.
One hole w a s d r i l l e d
on each of t h e claims Cu 1 7 , CO 4 Fr. and J

claims i s appended in Section D.
GENERAL GEOLOGY
The Highland Valley occupies an east-west f a u l t system
t h a t crosses t h e c e n t r a l portion of t h e multi-phased,
concentrically
zoned, post Upper Triassic-pre Middle J u r a s s i c aged, Guichon Creek
batholith.
The She& and Bethlehem properties s t r a d d l e geological contacts
of t h e c e n t r a l t o intermediate phases of t h e b a t h o l i t h which are crossc u t by late stage magmatic dyke swarms and reacti-vated f a u l t systems.
The younger, more leucocratic, core phases grade outward t o o l d e r , mafic
r i c h , d i o r i t i c border phases which crop out east of t h e Bethlehem properties.
The She& claim group contains rock u n i t s belonging t o t h e
Bethsaida, Bethlehem and Highland Valley phases which are c u t by porphyry
dykes and plugs associated with t h e younger i n t r u s i v e stages.
The rock
