The Holiday Season has begun and soon the snow will be blowing the outdoor Christmas decorations around.
A time to get together with family and friends, and to give thanks for all we have. We are most fortunate to be
here, and in this time. Of course, if you are a devotee of the headline news, you could be forgiven for thinking
the end is imminent. But, if history is a guide, the human spirit – with God’s help – survives catastrophe after
catastrophe, usually with improvements over the previous circumstances.
So, in this positive outlook, we have launched our fundraising campaign to improve your Plymouth Arts Center.
Planning has been long and detailed to ensure that the improvements will meet our needs today and into the
foreseeable future. Our fundraising goal of $1,500,000 is reasonable and – we believe – attainable, especially
since we have already raised over $500,000.
Here are some of the planned changes to our existing structure:
 A 2,400 square foot addition to the north of the building with storage space and a new serving kitchen.
 An enlarged theater space with 50% more seating.
Donna Hahn, Executive Director
 A new Gallery with improved lighting and more hanging space, and an enlarged Alcove.
We thank our Past Board Members
 Two new art classrooms with all amenities.
William Cain
 New restrooms to complement our existing restrooms.
Attorney Elizabeth Gamsky-Rich
 New canopies at the entrance and to the north for patron safety and comfort.
R. Bruce Grover
 A new enlarged garden area north of the building for outdoor events.
Dr. Michael Jacquat
 A new entrance atrium and lobby, plus building access from the garden area.
Our mission…
 Energy efficiency to aid in the reduction of power consumption.
To enliven the spirit of our community Plus a myriad of improvements to make your visit more enjoyable. This revitalized anchor to the entrance of
Copper Box Band
and to enrich the lives of all by providing historic downtown Plymouth will benefit our members, guests, and the community.
diverse experiences in the arts.
During this season of giving, we trust that you will kindly consider a contribution to the Plymouth Arts Center.
Be part of this exciting project that will bring enjoyment to all for many years to come.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

treacherous winter waters
of Lake Michigan to bring

century pioneers, who are full of energy and dreams and Peter's young son Karl, and his father, Gus, from the old country. The show is full of glorious music, charming dances, and the lively spirit of the sailing crew of The Molly Doone. The

the living while honoring our ancestors. Tickets for the production will be $10 in advance or $12 at the door; and can be

Plymouth Review Press Release: Thursday, October 7, 2010
Paint the Town, en Plein Air, Premier Painting Event Great Success
Plymouth, WI - The Plymouth
Arts Center Board of Directors
officially launched a bold new
building renovation and
expansion capital campaign this
week. The campaign goal is to
raise $1.5 million to renovate
and to expand the Arts Center’s
current 8700 sq. ft. facility
located at 520 E. Mill Street,
downtown Plymouth. The effort
is the largest fundraising
campaign in the Arts Center’s
17-year history. The PAC board
is pleased to announce that Lou
Gentine, chairman and chief
executive officer of Sargento
Foods Inc., Plymouth, WI
graciously accepted the position
of Campaign Chairman.
If you were in Plymouth the first weekend in October, you may have noticed over 25 artists “Painting
the Town,” on street corners, by the Mill Pond, in the countryside, and even in the alleyways. A
premier outdoor paint-out of Historic Plymouth was presented by the Plymouth Arts Center and
coordinated by artist Kitty Lynne Klich. Artists from all over Wisconsin participated in this new three
day, plein air painting event for the Plymouth Arts Center. Visitors and residents were able to watch
the artists at work as they captured picturesque Plymouth on canvas and paper in oils, watercolors
and acrylics. Sixty-five outstanding art pieces of area buildings, houses, farms, landscapes, rivers,
and more were entered into the Paint theTown event. Artists Paula Swaydan-Grebel and Kitty Lynne
Klich judged the work with winning artists receiving cash and merit awards of over $1000.

The grand finale of “Paint the Town, en Plein Air” was a gala celebration held on Saturday evening
at the Arts Center. Tickets were available to the public for the gala in advance and at the door.
Ticket holders were awarded the first opportunity to see all the artwork beautifully displayed and
place bids on their favorite pieces at the silent auction. Guests also enjoyed a “Taste of Plymouth”
cuisine with delectable hors d’oeuvres compliments of the Mill Street Grill, Exchange Bank Coffee
House, Sweet Basil, Plymouth Piggly Wiggly, and Sartori Foods; a wine tasting by the Wine House
of Sheboygan Falls; and music by the Smooth Groove Jazz Trio.

The Plymouth Arts Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable, membership arts organization established in
1993. Events at the Plymouth Arts Center have increased steadily since its humble beginnings with current
annual attendance exceeding 20,000 visitors, representing an average of over 20% year-on-year growth.
After years of bursting at the seams with its lively schedule of artistic and cultural events, the Arts Center
embarked upon a carefully planned expansion and renovation program. When the project is complete, new
features will include an expanded gallery exhibition wing and gallery shoppe conveniently located at the
primary entrance, an increase of 50% to the theatre-event great room space, a new education wing with two
classrooms, two new restrooms, a new serving kitchen, an additional 2,400 square feet of storage space, a
new entrance foyer, canopies front and rear in keeping with the historic Spanish revival architecture, resulting
in an energy efficient, attractive anchor to historic downtown Plymouth.
The Plymouth Arts Center thanks Kitty Lynne Klich for coordinating this premier event as a fundraiser for the upcoming PAC Building Campaign, and to the sponsors for helping to make this event
possible: Robert J. Kuehl, CFP, Vice-President, H.C. Denison Co., Sheboygan; American Family
Insurance Company: Kate Holfeltz Agency, Plymouth; Dave Hanson Agency, Plymouth; Brian
Passehl Agency, Sheboygan Falls; and Bonnie & John Abler of Abler’s Art Glass & Gallery, Kiel.
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR NEXT YEAR’S EVENT,
2ND ANNUAL “PAINT THE TOWN, en PLEIN AIR” a
weeklong event, beginning, Monday, October 3rd; with a grand finale
on Saturday, October 8, 2011.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for the Plymouth Arts Center and the Plymouth community,” says Tom
Slater, president of the Board of Directors. “On behalf of the Board and Mr. Gentine, we are very pleased to
finally unveil the renovation completed drawings and capital campaign strategy. This renovation project will
architecturally complement our 1930’s building, ultimately expanding our valuable programs and services that
benefit the community, visitors, and the 25,000 residents of Western Sheboygan County.”

Gentine said, “During the campaign’s silent phase, we have been identifying funding sources, and have
secured pledges of over $500,000. I’m confident that individual philanthropists, corporations, and foundations
in the greater Sheboygan County area, as well as community members and friends of the arts from all walks
of life will come forward with their support to get us over the top. The Plymouth Arts Center truly is the hub of
cultural activity for our community and a significant anchor business for the downtown.”

“The Plymouth Arts Center has a bright future and is a source of great pride for our community,” said Donna
Hahn, Plymouth Arts Center Executive Director. “I’m extremely proud of our dedicated team of artists,
performers, and volunteers, as they are the foundation of this project. Their talents and efforts have lead to
this expansion and renovation project.”
The Plymouth Arts Center anticipates that the proposed renovations, additions and changes to the existing
building will generate additional needed income while controlling expenses, provide for the current and
long-term projected needs to serve the community, continue to provide meaningful experiences in the Arts,
attract new residents, as the arts provide a selling point to bring businesses and their employees to the community, create more tourism and a positive impact on the redevelopment and restoration of historic downtown
Plymouth, Wisconsin.
The Plymouth Arts Center is supported through membership dues, fund-raising events, sponsorships, grants
and private and corporate donations. It is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit
organization and donations are tax deductible according to the tax laws. To learn more about how you might
become an important partner in our future, please contact Donna Hahn, Executive Director at 920-892-8409;
