have been turning out superior, handmade wrought
iron style and solid wooden gates to grace homes
throughout the UK. Cannock Gates is a member of
the Peart Group, a family-run manufacturing and
distribution operation based in the North East.

Our entire range is fabricated on site by skilled artisans using quality

Our factory, at Cannock in Staffordshire, is at the
very heart of our business. All our gates are fabricated
here to exacting standards, enabling us to supply
unique designs – superbly crafted and delivered
directly to our customers.
As a result of our long-standing expertise, we can also offer a
comprehensive advisory service, providing all the help you need
on measuring, fixing and fitting gates – or any design or technical
issues. We hand-make every gate, so if you can’t find the size you
want, or you would like us to manufacture a gate to your own design,

Cannock Gates
The Natural Beauty of Wooden Gates
For character and warmth, there’s nothing to beat
natural wood, each piece unique. Cannock wooden
gates are constructed to the highest standards by
time-served craftsmen and carry a 5-year guarantee.
We use only the best smooth-planed Scandinavian redwood from
managed forests, making our gates as resilient as they are beautiful.
Laminated profiles may be used for some models. Traditional ‘mortise
and tenon’ joints are used – an age-old method, proven to give lasting
strength and durability. Our gates are supplied as natural wood with no
finish applied, which allows you to choose your preferred oil-based finish
or exterior wood paint to protect your gates and achieve the colour
you want. All wooden gates in our catalogue are shown with a cedar
base coat finish, therefore looking darker than the gate you
will receive.

Railings
Designed to complement our Royal, Marlborough, Westminster, Regent
and Winchester gate ranges, these railings are sturdily constructed and
offer a straightforward, elegant solution to enclosing part or all of a garden
perimeter, or adding height to an existing wall. Available in heights of
18” (46cm), 2’ (62cm) and 3’ (92cm), the railings come complete with
adjustable side feet and can be ordered with intermediate, end and corner

A super, traditional five-bar gate, Town is a great favourite with
Cannock customers. The robust rectangular frame is strengthened by
symmetrically-arranged diagonal bars which hold the horizontal rails
firmly in place too. A narrow side gate can be hung alongside, forming

Based on a classic five-bar design, County’s signature look is defined by
its striking, curved laminated hanging stile which forms an elegant profile
stretching beyond the gate’s 4’ closing stile. An extended diagonal bar
connects the curved stile to its opposite corner on wider models, reinforcing
County’s strength and holding the horizontal rails securely in place.
A narrow side gate can be hung alongside, forming a useful separate

a wrought iron style gate and a steel fixing post is required, check the
accompanying price list – or phone us for advice, if you’re unsure
about your requirements – and order your hanging and latching posts
accordingly. For wooden gates, we offer a selection of Scandinavian
redwood, solid oak and pressure-treated softwood posts to suit
individual requirements.

Finishes
A black primed finish is factory-standard for our wrought iron style
gates and railings, ready for over-coating with a durable enamel paint
prior to installation. We recommend using a proprietary brand of
exterior enamel paint such as Hammercote, to enhance and protect
your gates and railings. Or we can supply them with a hard-wearing
black powder coat finish, which means they won’t require painting.
Either way, why not add an extra dimension by highlighting details
such as plaques and finials with a touch of silver or gold?
Wooden gates are supplied as natural wood with no finish applied, which
allows you to choose your preferred finish or paint to achieve the colour
you require. We recommend using a proprietary brand of oil-based
preservative prior to installation to preserve the natural beauty of the
wood, or an exterior wood paint if you prefer. A wide variety of colours are
available to complement different styles and settings. All wooden gates
in our catalogue are shown with a cedar base coat finish applied, therefore
looking darker than the gate you will receive.

W hat you need to know before ordering your gates
Wooden gates
The width measurements shown for wooden gates are for the actual size
of the gate, NOT the gap size. You will need to allow for posts (if not already in place),
fittings and clearance at the centre (when ordering drive or estate gates). You’ll find
detailed information on posts and fittings in the enclosed price list.

- Heights quoted are for the actual height of the
gate. When hanging, allow 2” (5cm) for ground
clearance.
Wrought iron style gates & railings
The width measurements shown for wrought iron style gates/railings are for the gap size
between your posts, pillars or walls, NOT the actual size of the gate/railing. Simply measure
from the inside of one gate post to the inside of the other gate post. The gate/railing and free
adjustable fittings we supply will fit that gap size. If you require steel gate posts, tell us and we
will make the necessary allowances for these too. You’ll find detailed information on posts in
the enclosed price list. Intermediate, end and corner posts are available for railings – call our
Technical Sales Team for advice.

quality, smooth-planed Scandinavian
redwood from managed forests. Laminated
profiles may be used for some models.
- All gates come with free adjustable hinges and a
free lockable latch fitting.
- All wooden gates are supplied as natural wood,
with no finish applied. Gates must be treated
with a high quality oil-based wood preservative,
or exterior wood paint, before any fittings are
attached.

- All wooden garden and side gates are right-hand
hanging as viewed from the roadside, except 3’
(92cm) high Derbyshire garden gates and Town
and County field gates, which can be ordered as
right or left-hand hanging.

- All gates and railings are supplied with a black
primed finish as standard and should be
treated with an exterior enamel paint, such as
Hammercote, before exposing to the elements.
Or we can supply them with a black powder coat
finish which means they won’t require painting.
- Many of our single gates are supplied with a
universal latch so they can be hung left or right,
some are right-hand hanging only, as viewed
from the roadside. Please ask before ordering.
- Weights shown are the approximate weight of
the heaviest gate.
- All gates and railings are subject to a carriage

Guarantee
In the unlikely event that you are not totally satisfied with any goods purchased from our catalogue, please inform us in
writing (including fax or email) within 7 days, starting on the day after the goods are delivered to you, and once the goods
have been returned to us, we will give you a replacement or refund. All products are guaranteed against faulty workmanship.
If any item is found to be faulty, return it and we will be happy to correct the faulty part or send a replacement without
charge. Upon receipt of goods, please follow carefully the instructions for assembly and advice on how to care for the product.
Please bear in mind the following; a minor amount of natural movement is inherent in timber; rust is a natural effect on steel,
which can be prevented by applying an exterior enamel paint treatment such as Hammercote.
All orders will be confirmed in writing.
Delivery
We are committed to delivering your goods as quickly as
possible after receipt of your order – normally within 14 days,
but please allow 28 days. Some items may arrive at different
times due to despatch from separate depots. We will be happy
to deliver your order directly to a friend or relative anywhere
in the UK mainland. For bulk orders please ring for details of
special carriage arrangements.
Please note: If you are employing builders or fitters, please
ensure you are in receipt of the goods before committing to
an installation date. We cannot be held responsible for any
consequential expenses if delivery is delayed.
Our wrought iron style gates carry a 10-year guarantee and our wooden gates a 5-year guarantee, when you follow the
instructions given in our assembly and care leaflet provided with your gate. Our guarantee covers the cost of replacing the
defective product; it does not cover consequential expenses incurred as a result of replacing the product such as fitting and
finishing costs. We will not accept responsibility for any damage caused by incorrect assembly of fittings, incorrect hanging
or lack of treatment to gates. For wooden gates, we are unable to give any guarantee against shrinkage, warping or splitting
which can be caused by natural reactions to variations in humidity and temperature. We will not reimburse the cost of repairs
undertaken to gates without our prior consent, and such repairs would also invalidate your guarantee. Please note: because
orders for non-standard gates are made to the customer’s specification, we are unable to accept cancellation of orders and our
7-day money-back guarantee will not apply. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Returns
The goods must be returned to us untreated and unused and wherever possible in the original packaging, together with your
receipt. We recommend that you retain all of the original packaging until you are sure that you intend to keep the goods. If
the original packaging is not available you should use packaging that would provide similar protection, as returned items must
be received ‘as new’ and in re-saleable condition. Carriage costs will be refunded only if the item is faulty or if it differs in any
way from the advertised goods. Returned parcels remain the responsibility of the customer until safely received by us. The
company does not pay return carriage unless an item is faulty or it differs in any way from the advertised goods.
If you would like us to arrange collection of goods for return please contact Customer Services. Return carriage costs will be
deducted from any refund due. We will not pay for the cost of failed collections. Please note we are unable to accept returns of
gates if they have been treated.
Important information
All prices shown in the price list are correct at time of print. We reserve the right to adjust the VAT element if this changes
from 17.5%. We reserve the right to improve, alter or modify designs without prior notification. We will inform you of any
changes to the advertised goods prior to despatch of such goods. All sizes are approximate. Wooden gates are supplied as
natural wood, not as colours shown in catalogue. A black primed finish is factory-standard for wrought iron style gates.
Packaging, carriage & insurance charges are as shown in the price list. All product descriptions shown are correct at time
of print. All line drawings are intended as a guide only and are not to scale.
