9 be able to wear jeans for P.E.
if we follow the dress code?
Ms. Haifa: No, because jeans
are not a formal dress code.
Ms. Zainab M.: At the boy’s
school can they wear shorts?
Ms. Haifa: No, they aren't allowed to.
Zainab M.: why can lower
grades wear short skirts and
not upper grades?

The grade 7 Level 6 English class where very creative in naming the compound nouns as follows:
The single word compound nouns they call “closed compound nouns”;

“dash-compound nouns”.
When we were checking the answers in the exercise, I was quite surprised and at first puzzled, with the responses
of the students. I must have looked very strange to them. When it finally occurred to me that the above explanation is
what they actually meant, I was really delighted to see that they had actually been very creative in naming something
that could be quite difficult to remember.
As a class we all agreed that from now on, when talking about compound nouns, they will be referred to as open -,
closed – or dash- compound nouns.
Well done grade 7s!!!! You have shown initiative, creative thinking and humor.

The Teacher gave us some organic products , and advised us to taste them. Everyone selected a product and started to
taste it. I picked a product called ( Crunchy
Chocolate Muesli) and I had a bite. It’s a
delicious mixture of rolled oats, wheat flakes,
chocolate, coconut, and rice crispies. It tasted
sweet and crunchy, similar to the taste of corn
flakes. I brought some boiled milk and I mixed
it with this organic product. Amazingly, it
tasted like hot cereal. I think I would use this
product again and I guarantee that chocolate
lovers would recommend it. Crunchy Chocolate Muesli can be purchased for only 21.50
SR! On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is the lowest and
10 is the highest), I gave it a 10.

I bought organic tea
from tamimi
market. It
cost 20,95
SAR. I chose
the organic
red tea to taste it and find the difference
between it and the normal tea. I take a
glass cup and filled it with a hot water,
then I put the tea bag in the water about
10 minutes to be ready to drink it, then I
put 1 and a half sugar spoon to be sweet.
It taste good, like the normal tea but the
normal tea is more sweet than the organic. Actually I will not use it again because I prefer the normal tea because it’s
more sweet than the organic tea. The tea
leaves may be opened and we put it in the
water, or in a bag and we put the bag in
the water, and it may be a red tea, green
tea or a mint tea. Scale of 1-10, 1 is the
lowest 10 is the highest. I give it 8 of 10.

On December 17th 2012, I asked Mayra to cook On a scale pf 1 to 10 ( 1 is lowest and 10 is
the highest ), I give it 7.
for us, Pates Alimenaires from Markal brand,
this is a whole flour Pasta Penne. It is made
from organic whole wheat semolina. It cost
29.15 S.R. We boiled the pasta with a little bit of
salt and vegetable oil for 10 minutes, then we
sauted it with onion and garlic until translucent.
Next we added ground chicken,chopped tomatoes and dried herbs ( oregano, basil and
thyme ). After the chicken was cooked we add
tomato paste and spaghetti sauce and boiled it
for 5 minutes. Salt and pepper were also added
to taste. The dish was served hot with mozzarilla

NEW EXPERIANCES: STUDENTS VISITING OTHER CLASSES
Visiting Ms.Rima’s Class
On the 18th of December we attended KG-1A
class with ms. Rima. They were studying math.
Group 1 were coloring numbers. They were learning ordinals. Group 2 were tracing numbers from
0-10. Group 3 were building lego blocks they are
taking the position of each number. Group 4 were
matching pictures with numbers. And group 5
were doing laces and bottoms. They were rotating
the centers changing groups and jobs. We really
had fun joining them. We really like to attend another class with Ms. Rima and her students.

VOICE OF THE STUDENTS
Visiting Ms. Krystal Dejesus’s Class
On Wednesday, the 26th of December 2012
we visited the first grade boy’s classroom
(1E). We stayed 15 minutes and we observed
the boys and their teacher Ms. Krystal Dejesus. We took some information about the
subjects and the way she teaches them. She
has 21 students in her class and knows how
to communicate with the children and her
lesson was good. The topic was about cause
and effect. The students participated with the
teacher and they gave her some examples
about the topic. If we were kids we would
enjoy the class too, but since we are grade
eight we already understand all these lessons
but it was fun watching the small kids listen
to their teacher and learn something new.

It was a good day (25th of December, 2012)
we spent it with KG2 C (Ms. Cox’s) from 8:30
am to 9:00 am. The students were so
adorable and polite!
It was time to sit on the carpet, they sat on
the carpet quietly, and their teacher started to
show them some cards that has words written
on them, and they started pronouncing them,
They 'all were so good in pronouncing!
After that it was snack time, they looked so
happy and excited, some of them had healthy
food and some of them didn’t, they had all
kinds of fruits and healthy food.

After eating their snacks they sat on the
carpet again, and each child picked a story
and started reading it.

PERSONAL HYGIENE TIPS FOR TEENAGE GIRLS
Girls in their teens
may notice that they
must pay more attention to personal hygiene because their
bodies are going
through a change. Sweat glands
become active and causes body
odor. The hormone levels
change, causing hair to grow in
places it never grew before. The
practice of good hygiene can
make the changes a teenage girl
goes through easier to deal with.
KEEP FACIAL SKIN
CLEAN

Shower or bath daily to
remove the offensive odor
that develops when bacteria caused from sweating is
left on the skin to grow. The
odor from these bacteria
has a strong smell to it,
especially in the area of the
armpits and the feet. The

unpleasant odor. Cleanse
your body with warm water
and a gentle soap.
Do not let bad breaths (halitosis) become a problem. Brush your teeth
after eating, especially after eating
foods that contribute to bad breath.
Clean your teeth for two minutes minimum, and replace your toothbrush
after three months. Brush your tongue
as well as the top of your mouth, using a light touch. Use floss to remove
plaque and pieces of food from between your teeth. Schedule an appointment to have your teeth cleaned
by a dentist twice a year.
CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES EVERY DAY
Put on clean clothes every day to prevent smelling bad, as fabrics have a
tendency to absorb odors. Make sure
your socks and undergarments are
freshly laundered. Wear shirts and
socks made of cotton, as this fabric

under your arms if you feel you need
