EC130
As part of Airbus Helicopters AStar product line, the EC130 is rapidly becoming more and more
widespread within the U.S. helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) industry. Features such as a
low noise level, excellent performance and extremely roomy and comfortable cabin for a light single-engine
helicopter are aspects that boost its popularity.

At United Rotorcraft, we are proud to be the
pioneer to engineer, manufacture, and certify
EC130 medical interiors. Our in-house engineering
and manufacturing capabilities, and certification
expertise help make this a reality. Our EC130
medical interior can accommodate a single
patient or specialty transport, and comes with
our (LPLS) Lowered Patient Loading System.
The interior has three crash attenuating medical
seats. Mounting of medical equipment can be
done on the aft medical equipment wall rails or via
the Pilot Isolation Barrier (PIB) equipment mount.
The EC130’s cabin storage consists of soft good
storage pouches on the aft wall and the aft side of
the pilot seat. As the industry leader in operational
safety, our EC130 glass cockpit is designed
specifically for HEMS operations and is the first to
feature Garmin’s G500H technologically advanced
unit. United Rotorcraft – Partner of Choice for your
EC130 medical interior completion.

Overall Layout
The United Rotorcraft EC130 medical interior can accommodate a single patient transport or
specialty transport including isolette and intra-aortic balloon pump.
Patient Loading System
The United Rotorcraft EC130 medical interior
utilizes the highly versatile Lowered Patient
Loading System (pictured left). The loading
systems are located on the right side of the aircraft
and positioned to allow the primary care giver to
be seated at the patient’s head. The LPLS swivels
out the right hand passenger door of the aircraft
to simplify loading. The Model 1080 Litter has
litters that have a four-point shoulder harness and
three lap belts. Restraint belts can be relocated
along the length of the litters for increased patient
comfort and access, and the headrest has multiple
positions.
Medical Crew Seating
Our EC130 medical interior has three crash
attenuating medical seats. The seats are quickly
removable without tools and move forward
on the track allowing medical crews to adjust
them appropriately to enhance patient care and
accommodate equipment for specialty transports.
Each is equipped with a four-point harness.

Medical Panels
A modular panel that attaches to the aft cabin wall
is available with the EC130 T2 aircraft for ease
of installation.
Storage Systems
The EC130’s main cabin storage consists of soft
good storage pouches that can be configured
and customized to meet specific customer
requirements. A Baggage Extender is available
that extends into the forward section of the
tailboom in the aft cargo compartment.
Oxygen System
The liquid oxygen system is installed in the left aft
baggage compartment and is quickly removable
for servicing.
Overhead Ceiling Panels/
Medical Lighting
Overhead ceiling panels include IV hooks and medical
interior LED lighting controls. Lighting include white
and night vision goggle compatible modes.
Avionics Systems
As the industry leader in operational safety,
United Rotorcraft has developed and certified a
technologically advanced EC130 glass cockpit
designed specifically for HEMS operations.
This is the first airframe in the HEMS industry to
include Garmin’s G500H dual-screen electronic
flight display. The G500H all-in-one unit includes
Helicopter Synthetic Vision Technology, terrain
avoidance warning system, XM satellite weather,
and GPS navigation. The EC130 T2 is available
with the Garmin GTN series GPS/NAV/COMM/
MFD for enhanced navigation, communication,
and situational awareness. The EC130 cockpit
also is night vision goggle lighting capable and
has satellite tracking equipment. These integrated
systems combine to minimize pilot workload and
enhance safety.
