On-Line Back Up
Severe storms can sometimes cause power surges and outages. If your computer is
not protected, you may lose important files, photos, and family videos. Protect your
computer files with On-Line Back Up from NU-Telecom, starting at only $4.95 per
month. On-Line Back Up systematically backs up your data and stores it in a secure,
centralized location for safekeeping, so that in the event of a disaster you can have
peace of mind knowing your data is still retrievable.

to purchase a new weather radio!
Landline Phones
Will you be able to call your friends
and loved ones if a severe storm hits?
Landline phones can still work during
power outages when Voice over IP phones
will not. If power is out for an extended period of
time, your cell phone battery may lose power too.
Plus, when bundled with digital TV and DSL,
your phone line is nearly free!
Remember – in a power outage, landline phones
that are cordless will not work either. It is
important to keep a corded phone somewhere in
your home to use during bad weather and power
outages. Visit your local NU-Telecom to see our
selection of corded phones.
Disaster Recovery
Business owners – is your server at work protected
from severe storms and natural disasters?
NU-Telecom’s Disaster Recovery service can help
protect your important information too. In the
event of a failure, our Disaster Recovery service
can get you up and running in under an hour
resulting in a limited disruption from your work.

What are QR codes?
Control
Have you started to see little barcodes
show up on magazines, advertisements,
business cards, products and more? Have
you wondered what they are? They
are QR Codes
(short for Quick
Response), which
are matrix barcodes
that can be read
by QR scanners
and smartphones. Most smartphone
devices will
require you to
download a QR Eric - TechTeam Member
code reader as a Certifications: BA in Computer
Science, and BA in Business
new app to use
Administration from Dordt
College and MBA from Bethel
this service. University
The QR Code stores information
that can lead you to a website, contact
information or other data when it is
scanned with your smartphone device. Many of the QR Codes that you see in
magazines or other advertisements will
direct you to a website or video with
additional information on the same
topic. A QR Code on a business card
will likely take you to the electronic
format of the person’s
contact information,
which you can then
easily save to your
mobile phone.

Keys
If you are interested in making your own
QR Code, there are many websites that
will help you generate the code for free. To find these websites, do a web search
for “QR Code Generator”. You will
simply need to provide the text, URL
link or other data you want contained
in your QR Code and the online service
will generate it for you within seconds.
